Let my thoughts wander and accidentally came up with helluva au where most things are the same but Blitz and stolas swapped with Barbie and Stella. Like. Hear me out.
1. Barbie and Stella don't meet as kids. The first time Stella sees Barbie is at one of the "not divorced" parties trying to steal grimoire. Stella at that point is so done with this marriage she only wants to fuck stolas over so she actually leads Barbie to the book with an intent to let her steal it (Bonus classism point for Stella is to think "Oh, being mugged by an imp, how embarrassing!" Because yea, Stella is still classist) one thing leads to another and they still end up sleeping together. Que "sorry I fucked your wife" moment but instead of triumph for stolas in og series this leaves Stella in horror, because now stolas is furious and he has far more power over her than the other way around.
2. Barbie is the head of I.M.P. now. She still got Moxxie, Millie and Loona tho. Just like Blitz she still pushes Moxxie around and is very affectionate with Loona, but with Millie she has sort of friendly rivalry. Millie also calls out Barbie's behavior more freely, because Millie has more confidence now and can threaten to leave I.M.P. and take Moxxie with her to go freelance. They still friendly because both respect each other skills as before I.M.P. the two were top freelance assasins for hire. They learned a lot from each other at the time, but Barbie just had more motivation to start I.M.P. (it being her newly adopted daughter Loona, so Barbie needs more money to take care of her) Barbie also picks on Moxxie not only because she envies how easy it is for him to be vulnerable and still be loved but also, yes, to get to Millie. Barbie and Loona's relationship is pretty much the same.
Basically I.M.P. is more unstable in the beginning due do Barbie being Barbie.
3. I.M.P services proceed similar to canon. Imps killing people for hire and yadda yadda. Also yes, Barbie dated Verosika.
4. Back to Goetia. Stolas is furious that not only his book got stolen but also because his wife publicly cheated on him with an imp. It lead to stolas beating Stella, yelling and treating to kill her until Octavia walks in. This makes stolas step back to "think about what to do now" and leave the room. Not wanting to pull her daughter into this Stella puts on a brave face and tells Via that everything is fine, this is just another typical fight between mom and dad, don't worry sweetie. Via senses that something is wrong and tries to act cool and unbothered in a typical angsty teen way. Stella, seeing this and being desperate to leave the house suggests going out because it's been a while since they had any "girl time" and pulls Octavia to loolooland. Coincidentally, Barbie decided to visit loolooland with Loona as well, trying to bond more with her adoptive daughter. They run into each other and things go in a weird territory. Stella manages to talk to Barbie alone, trying to make her return the grimoire (Stella hopes that this will calm stolas down so he doesnt do anything to her) Barbie, needing the book for her business, tries to turn her charm up to 11 and starts flirting with Stella. Stella, desperate for real romantic affection, plays into it (a/n, Stella is still in power here, while Barbie does manipulate her Stella still holds more cards so while she plays into it it's still by her decision) and the deal is struck here. Stella knows stolas's schedule and when he needs the book, so on those days Barbie gives it back, but is free to use it otherwise. Is sex involved? Yes. Because since stolas is busy with the book, Barbie will "entertain" Stella once a month. With all this, Loona and Octavia were left alone and they... didn't really get along. Funnily enough, the reason why they didn't get along is because they thought that the other's mom were more loving. Loona also reveals here that she thinks that Barbie's affection towards her is fake. So the two girls, left alone in the park get jumped by other imp assassins. Loona holds them off because Via still haven't tapped in into her powers yet. Luckily Stella and Barbie get back and since Stella isn't as powerful as stolas, she needed Barbies help to protect their daughters. The conversation between stolas and Via from original loo loo land happens with Stella and Via after that. Additionally Barbie tells Luna that she is proud of her for protecting Via (because now you can demand a boon. Barbie is pragmatic)
5. To add more, yes, stolas ends up hiring Striker to kill Stella but he keeps it a secret from both Stella and Octavia. The reason is basically because he also does want to keep Octavia out of this but he also wants to get rid of Stella more discreetly. Also yes, he also forced Stella to go to harvest moon festival as a replacement for him.
This is all for now, but yeah, toxic Yuri let's go.

Idk how coding works but people who go into the code of Deltarune should like, take a string of code associated with Kris and paste it around in the code "showing Kris places they never seen" style
Once the contest concluded I hope to see arts of Tenna with Caine and Doof as little angel and devil on his shoulders no matter if he wins or not
And also get all these "oiled up and tastefully undressed" promises fulfilled too
role swap designs i made lol. this took way too long. and also my thoughts here too
you know how some parents do that toxic thing where they don’t notice or reward kids for improving their behavior, but every screw-up gets remarked upon and used to inflict shame? so you’re stuck in that awful cycle where there are no rewards, only the inevitability of eventual punishment?
and how that makes it extremely hard to judge your own actions or grow into a better person, because there’s no one to confirm that you actually are doing better, and are capable of improving, and are not doomed to forever be a terrible person incapable of growth?
ok so: I don’t know how to explain to you that we’ve built a social media culture that treats people the same way. with the same abusive cycle.
That sounds like cancel culture
I don’t know what to call it anymore. people get heated about terms like “purity” or “cancel” or “call out” culture, or can’t seem to agree on a meaning. I’m not talking about like. no longer supporting rich and powerful celebrities when their abusive actions come to light. I’m not talking about holding people accountable, or warning people about active abusers. but I am seriously concerned about how we treat social media users once they get even a small amount of attention, even in small niche spaces.
I am concerned about this culture of combing through years of people’s social media accounts, looking for “problematic” shit they’ve done. I am concerned with the whole culture of using “call outs” as a tool to harass and ostracize users large and small. I am concerned about the malice we spread behind people’s backs, in screenshots and posts they aren’t able to see. I am concerned with this culture of demanding apologies for things said years ago, things already outgrown and regretted, and of ignoring those apologies even while pilling on more censure. I’m concerned about this whole culture of accusation and misinformation, where the most outrageous claims and holier-than-thou performances are rewarded with notes and views, even as facts are ignored and context removed. I am concerned about the lack of accountability, the way the accused is given no opportunity to defend themselves from the onslaught, the way their responses and explanations go ignored, the way any charge can be made at any time on any evidence, with no ability to appeal or exonerate. I’m concerned about the way this culture targets minority users and turns their own communities against them. I’m concerned about the actually harmful and predatory behavior that gets lost in the bog, and how we have lost the ability to distinguish between shades of gray with any level of sanity. And I am concerned by the sheer number of people who fail to realize they are perpetuating bullying and harassment.
I am enormously concerned with the way people who are “called out” are never forgiven, never allowed to make amends, never allowed to grow, how their efforts to learn and do better are ignored even while strangers callously repeat and reblog and retweet the same criticisms ad nauseam.
And I see this everywhere, happening to anyone. And yes, this applies to larger accounts and youtubers and “influencers,” and a bunch of content creators who may or may not be making a decent living off of their work, but who are certainly not “rich and powerful celebrities.” (Because apparently we spend so much time in online microcosms that ya’ll can’t tell the difference???) Christ, my blog isn’t nearly as large as some people seem to think, it’s obscure by most measures, and still I’ve been the target of mass harassment for years. I’ve seen bad and watched others go through worse, seen users with far larger and far smaller followings driven off of this and other platforms—driven off with a violence and bloodthirst that had nothing to do with making a community safer and everything to do with a toxic culture gone wrong. Fucking fix this already.
Abuse is still abuse when it happens online, when done by strangers, when done en masse, when sanctioned by a community, and when done with “good” intentions. Do BETTER.
oh, and to anyone who has reblogged this and similar posts I’ve written with the “Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point” meme? that is literally an example of the behavior this post is criticizing. you are literally just punishing good behavior instead of allowing people to grow and do better. I’ve been the subject of smear campaigns for years, and I’ve lost track of the number of times someone has added that meme to one of my most carefully worded, thought-out, sincere and earnest posts, posts on serious social and mental health issues. It’s exhausting, it’s not helpful, and guess what? It’s just plain bullying. Do better, and allow others to do better too.Â
receiving an uptick of kys comments in my notifs so time to reblog this again i guess
I still like to think that with more time we would've got development for others.
I’m someone who frequently visits my local film festival circuit. I’ve learned that project management is an essential skill in the indie scene! So many directors have had to alter their work and get creative with the resources they have. The restaurant is too expensive to film at? The family works at a laundromat now. Our actress dropped out at the last second? The character will remain a disembodied voice who haunts the protagonist. Sometimes, these limitations are more like obstacles that force you to reconfigure your artistic expression.
Since Gooseworx said it would be an unimaginable workload to extend the show to develop everyone, then she should have restructured it to fit her vision while using her resources wisely.
Like…I wouldn’t release a jukebox musical set in space if I couldn’t secure song licensing or get in contact with great CGI artists.
I don’t know why you’d aim for 9 episodes with a story like that with a cast of 6 (7 including Caine)…
Sure
seeing big boobs is a little like driving by some horses. you’re just like yep…boobies
How can I not love Tumblr when there's posts like these
i wonder if at any point in goose’s writing process she realized how non-agentic 70% of the main cast became.
i feel like kill your darlings is a basic rule of writing, no?
she doesn’t seem all that attached to anyone but jax, so i wonder how some characters (and storylines) passed through the cutting room floor.
Funnily enough she did kill her darling lmao
I can't speak for Goose or what was happening in the writers room (she is the only writer ay). I still like to think that with more time we would've got development for others, I refuse to believe that Ragatha's, well, everything was just fluff.
I believe the cast would've worked as is because despite everything, Caine's adventures is such a good plot engine. They could have an adventure that literally forces others to take lead like, hypothetically, horse racing adventure for Ragatha (I know im kinda seem obsessed with ragdoll but augh, I thing Rags is the most blatantly wasted potential of the cast). But yeah, Goose just wanted to focus on Jax and I see why it annoys people.
I don't think the fact that Jax is an asshole or that she hogs all the screen time was the problem with the circus. I think it's the fact that she was the only character that got enough screen time to have a full arc. Ragatha and Zooble had such interesting stories, but they were put in the background most of the time, plus there's a fact that out of all the cast the two truly proactive characters are Jax and Caine, and both are antagonistic. It just made it harder to put others in a spotlight (Even though we've seen it done with Gangle) The finale wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. It was just disappointing.

Natla really said "Uhm! Sokka's sexism in the cartoon is icky! We can't have it in this day and age! But don't worry! To compensate for cutting Sokka's sexism out we balanced it with making the entire show sexist instead :)"
