⚠️ mentioned of cannibalism
I haven't seen anyone pointing this out yet so here we go.
Remember how Sabrina didn't want to eat oysters that Philippa provided and wanted venison instead
The only person not eating was Sabrina Glevissig, a true daughter of the Kaedwen forests, who took the liberty of expressing a scornful opinion about ‘that slimy filth’ and a yen for a slice of cold venison with plums.

And who was the person described to have features that of a deer? You guess it!

Francesca Findabair
It made a great impression, even considering that Francesca Findabair was flowing gracefully along at his side, with her huge, doe eyes and breathless beauty.
via Time of Contempt
However, this was overshadowed by Yennefer's appearance so nobody caught on to this yet! It's incredibly lowkenuinely subtle of Brina to pull shit like this!!! Like I'm telling you it's insane that she ate deer meat to discreetly express her disdain with Francesca. Like "oh you think you're so proud and powerful now, don't you? just wait until you're knocked down and alone. then you'd be nothing but a piece of morsel for my consumption. I'd savour my victory over you as graceful as I'm now feasting on this dish" type of vibes
But but in the end, Brina was the one that get hunted, roasted by her king like a deer (venison were seen as food fit for kings and rich people) and cannibalized by her cult followers 😞
And of course OF COURSE IT HAS TO COME FULL CIRCLE WITH THE FACT THAT BRINAS NICKNAME IS A TRUE DAUGHTER OF THE KAEDWEN FORESTS AHAHAHAHEGHEBSHDUDUDJDJDIDJDBD
Ok, thank you for coming to my coke rant! 👉👈

They were definitely up to something in the books you can’t tell me otherwise..
I’m still not entirely happy with the way this turned out but this took so long to make so I have to post it lol
A Stare of Owls
thanks to the dnd campaign i did in my setting i was able to add more unsettling and weird behaviour to aquila's corruption arc and her not being herself anymore because a malicious eldtrich god entity she let in slowly gains control over her mind and body🤩🤩🤩 and also perverts few tender feelings she had for other people completely 🤩🤩🤩 yayyy
people will go onnn about how a man’s flaws makes him so nuanced and interesting and then act genuinely confused when u feel the same way about a woman…

its hard to edit a book monologue but not impossible (especially when theres a few games to help)
I once again wondering how did tw2 get away with the portrait of Sabrina's demise in 2011? Were people actually chilled back in early 2010s or it's because she's an antagonist so nobody cared lol. Like a soldier had to speared her heart to end her suffering, the freaking spear of destiny, soldier that killed her became a devoted cult leader, 'once more sabrina leaves this valve of tears in grand fashion', 'a charred bit of kindling from Saint Sabrina Glevissig's pyre'. like come on someone have gotta noticed the similarities by now 🙉
You know what since cdpr already doing all that they might as well go head and raise Sabrina, Sheala and Assire from the death. It's either go big or go home cdpr. Give the people what they want -> lesbian necromancer and her come back wrong babes. yes I'm looking at you Phil, you want to do necromancy soooo bad, yes you missed them soooo much even Sabrina. Yes, do it Phil for the good of the world or the selfishness of the heart idc!!!!! JUSTDOIT!!!
Book Triss hate is so odd
Like you are supposed to hate her. That is the point. She’s a centrist, and despite her many charming qualities, isn’t she sooo abhorrent for wanting so much and not willing to stand for anything and wishy-washying by claiming all sorts of moral righteousness while doing bad/not enough things?
And then the text throws it in your face that Geralt and the Witchers and their famous neutrality is the exact same thing. Both Geralt and Triss must learn to choose, not just the lesser evil, but goodness, but something that means something to them!
When Geralt is complacent/“neutral”, he is condemned by the text. When he heroically intervenes, it often causes him problems (both he and Aidan die for it), but that is the point. Centrism, allowing for evil/lesser evil, is wrong. Even dying because of your morals isn’t as bad as allowing that. Which is, thankfully, one of the few things the Witcher 3 does right about Triss and continues her hero’s journey.
There are many reasons to dislike Triss, and I do myself, but I don’t know why everyone chooses to blatantly ignore the real and true character development she gets throughout the saga.
sorry for the late answer. I was pondering on how to answer this. so here are my thoughts I hope you find them satisfying.
honestly, that pretty much what I've been saying like there's this parallel between Triss & Geralt. they're Miss Greater Good and Mister Neutrality respectively. but Geralt's character is interpreted with more grace and leniency than with Triss'. and it drives me crazy whenever I point that out there will be persons saying 'well it's because she did xyz, so she's evil and other good deeds she did for geralt/yen/ciri were uh manipulation tactics to spite yen or to get geralt back. she's a desperate bitch who begged for sex when having diarrhea". And I just have to sit there and smile through the pain since wtf can I even do when that's the most widespread fanon of her characterisation 🫠🫠
Tbh, I still have tender feelings for game!Triss since she introduced me to the witcher; however, I feel like cdpr had some hiccups when writing game!Triss so she kinda 👍. For example, I kinda don't like it that Triss seems to distance herself from the Lodge. It's very laughable when you remember that she's one of the founding members of it. Also the books never implied that she distanced herself from the organisation even after rivian pogrom. furthermore, she's canonised with other members posthumously. My opinion is that it show how devoted she's to the greater good. so devoted that she's willing sacrifice her relationships with people she loves and even herself to realise a future without bloodshed and wars. I like the version of Triss who chose to follow Phil, chose to found/join the Lodge because she knows together what they can do for others, not just because she wanted a safe place to hide from the misfortune the world bestowed upon her.
But atlas I still have a soft spot for game!Triss 😚👩🦰hahagame!triss don't look behind you book!triss is gonna eat u up girl
i really should start preparing for exams
fighting tiktok compression with this so here is a mid Cahir x Milva for that one trend
