Ork glyphs, from Waaargh the Orks, a Rogue Trader supplement by Nigel Stillmann & Bryan Ansell, Games Workshop, 1990
In Super Mario 64, the texture for the flowerbeds is actually taken from a very small cropped segment of a photo of a flower field from a Japanese texture library CD, with additional flowers drawn on top of it.
Due to the extremely small part of the source image that was used, making it very hard to identify, this was only discovered in 2025, 29 years after the game's release.

During the development of Yoshi's Island, the Hookbill the Koopa boss was originally envisioned as a unique Koopa/Birdo hybrid creature that would shoot projectiles from its mouth like a Birdo, but also had a big shell like a Koopa.
The game's prototype version contains behavior for this boss, but not the correct graphics; however, development files provide the graphical assets for it as well. By inserting the files into the prototype, the boss can be largely restored, as seen in the footage.

The Internet Archive logo is in Rotis SemiSerif (1988), except for the I's, which are in Rotis Serif (1988).
Semi-serif fonts were a fad in the 1990s, and Rotis SemiSerif was the font that started it. They're not much used anymore, but the Internet Archive has been using the same font for a quarter of a century.

Adine fanart by SocksOnFox1 .
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, extremely counterintuitively, Yoshi's Flutter Jump actually goes further if the player lets go of the D-Pad/Control Stick. In the upper footage, the player lets go of all directional input and the jump lands further than in the lower footage, where Right is being held.
As usually, holding a direction is necessary to maintain speed and letting go causes the character to lose momentum until stopping, this is exactly the opposite of the expected behavior.
