madrigals on a roadtrip headcanons

because @sapphoslefthand double dog dared me, and i’m not upset about it

the length of this is both embarrassing and very entertaining, im sorry y’all

also all of these lads are loaded into an old fifteen passenger van

pls guys i haven’t been able to not think about this, so here we go:

julieta drives because she’s the most trustworthy of the bunch (when she tires out luisa takes a turn)

alma has shotgun because 1) she doesn’t wanna sit in the back with the children and 2) they don’t wanna sit by her

agustin sits in the seat right behind julieta cuz he’s just a simp like that

felix and pepa sit beside each other too cuz they are also simps like that

camilo and mirabel yeet themselves to the very back seat so that they can giggle and watch youtube and listen to music all the way there in peace

dolores sits with isabela and luisa in the middle row. they’re silently on their phones and/or books all squished arm to arm but they don’t mind lol

antonio either sits with his mama and papa or camilo and mirabel, depends on who convinces him better. “mama has snacks come sit with us” or “come sit with us!! we’ll play uno >:)”

bruno probably sits with agustin up front, but he’s really not picky he doesn’t give a shit because he’ll enjoy the ride anyway

despite popular belief, they probably don’t have the radio/aux on at all because it’s loud enough as it is and alma and julieta are not the ones to choose music

that being said, if they can all decide on an audio drama than damn that’ll be an hour or two of perfect harmony

THE FIGHTS OVER THE CHARGING PORTS ARE ASTRONOMICAL

luisa, dolores and isabela are by one and they hog it because they have three phones amongst each other

and the one in the front is struggled over by julieta, agustin, pepa, felix and alma (if she even has a device lol)

anyway lol

travel blankets, a trash can/puke bucket, and a pail of snacks are ALWAYS in the van when on a roadtrip

bruno and dolores give me carsick vibes, like they look green 60% of the trip

SCREAMING there’s always somebody ducking SCREAMING

if you’ve ever been in an old-ass fifteen passenger van before, you know the heat/air system is SHITE; people in the back are complaining of being hot and the people in the front are yelling at them cuz they’re freezing

anyways im done projecting (or am i?)

dolores probably has at least two breakdowns because it’s so loud and so crowded and she can’t function

camilo and mirabel have a big bag of car games that ranges from word/picture puzzles to card games to motherfucking bouncy balls (which quickly get confiscated)

the entire family plays the ABC game until they get bored of it

FREQUENT BATHROOM STOPS

they visit almost every single souvenir shop and gas station they pass

the type to pull over and take pictures beside the signs of the “welcome to [place]” or any other sign of the places they’ve passed thru/are going to

definitely have coolers of food because julieta and alma are definitely ones to say “everybody make three sandwiches each because we are NOT eating out”

eventually buckle and eat mcdonalds a few times tho (everybody cheers and bruno and antonio are the loudest)

pepa and isabela nap 90% of the trip

camilo probably vlogs the entire roadtrip and it’s the best damn roadtrip vlog you’ll ever watch

there may be no radio/aux but one person sings a part of a lyric and everybody catches on and they’re their own radio at one point or another

“ayo u know im all about that bass ‘bout that bass” everybody: “NO TREBLE”

you hear “ow” every three minutes from a different person each time

bruno and camilo team up to make jokes all the way and everybody threatens to drop them off on the side of the highway

mirabel and antonio sleep in each other’s arms at one point

luisa minds her damn business in her own little world the entire way but isabela is constantly complaining about something

isabela, alma, and pepa are the grouchiest on roadtrips

mirabel, camilo, and luisa are the most excited

the other adults could give or take and bruno is such a homebody that he just doesn’t really know what to think of it all

antonio’s such a good lad he’s chill with everything and dolores would probably rather be back home

mariano’s invited but they forgot to pick him up oopsies

if they don’t forget him, he and dolores are just staring into each other’s eyes the whole way

anyway, i think that’s it

but this whole idea is too good so i’ll probably be following it up with a drabble or something lol

my oc biography

mercedes rojas was born on june 3rd, 2000, to zara and dario rojas. zara, at the time of mercedes' birth, was 16, while dario was 19. she was born in quibdo, colombia.

zara dropped out of school so she could take care of mercedes full time, while dario got a job as a waiter. he maintained this job until mercedes was six years old. he and zara had split up, and he had lost his job, losing the family's income. so, they made the difficult decision to send mercedes to live with dario's mother, camila, in barranquilla.

when she was eight years old, she met luisa madrigal, a neighbor. the two became quick friends and were best friends by the time they were nine. when they were fourteen, luisa came out as bisexual to her family, and then to mercedes. to luisa's suprise, mercedes proceeded to come out to her as lesbian.

they began dating on december 15th, 2014. around that time, mercedes began expressed interest in medicine. so, she began studying harder, under the encouragement of her girlfriend and grandmother. at the end of her mid-secondary school career, she received a scholarship for universidad de los andes' medical program in bogota.

she began college on august 31st, 2015. luisa also went to universidad de los andes, studying music. mercedes got a job as a waitress to support herself, and luisa got a job as a commission musician to do the same.

in 2020, luisa graduated with a bachelor's degree in music, while mercedes still had one year left. luisa stayed in bogota and moved in with her girlfriend. after her graduation, she continued work as a commission musician, but joined the national symphony of colombia as a violinist.

after six long years, mercedes graduated with a bachelor's degree in medicine in 2021. about a month after her graduation, she applied for pontifica universidad javeriana bogota, a medical school. she got in, to her enlightenment.

on august 19th, 2021, luisa proposed to mercedes, after almost seven years of being a couple. of course, the proposal was accepted.

the couple lived together as mercedes continued studying. on december 1st, 2021, they got married in barranquilla. mercedes took luisa's last name, becoming mercedes madrigal-rojas.

currently, the couple is living in bogota, while mercedes finishes medical school. luisa is still a member of the national symphony of colombia.
