Mini rant abt religion bcs i hate it

i have a strong hatred for all religions because theyre setting us back, but i wanna focus on christianity now. the best example of why is to compare the most religious countries and the most atheist ones (e.g. china). another thing is that if it was introduced nowadays, not a single human with an average count of IQ would believe in it, as it is so full of contradictions and things that have been disproven that its just funny. examples: Psalm 30:5 claims his anger lasts only a moment, and Jeremiah 17:4 says my anger will burn forever. Geneis 32:30 says "i have seen god face to face" but John 1:18 says no one has ever seen god. 2 Samuel says god made David take a census, 1 Chronicles says Satan did. the bible says if a man rapes a woman thats unmarried, he has to PAY her father and marry her. gain conciousness and be antitheist.

Why do so many people keep saying that you need religion to have empathy lol? My sister is literally an anti theist and she feels empathy. Exactly. Empathy is one of the reasons I am so loudly antitheist. I don't want what happened to me to ever happen to anyone else, but it still is. It's crazy how people claim to have the source of morality when there is no source, morality necessarily evolves along with us and our changing circumstances. One moral position I hold is that needless lying causes harm, hence my opposition to most religions.

The Abrahamic faiths in particular depict a cruel and abusive god, yet insist that submission to him is a good thing. Obey or be punished, that's "love". So many believers are not good people, as you pointed out; they are more like monsters on leashes.

We can find goodness in reality. It's strange and concerning to me that more people don't see that.

I've been traumatized by christianity and I found comfort in my ancestral practice of native american spirituality. My religion is not evil. Christianity might be. You're so culturally Christian that you can't see any non mainstream religion's. You say you're anti theist but you only reject the spirituality, not the culture of christianity that makes it so bad.

"Spirit" can be a useful metaphor, but there is no magic.
