I was in the middle of drawing some Coco fanart, got really proud of my hatching (especially with the hair), decided to show it to my parents because I like it when they praise my art, AND THEN I FOUND OUT MY DAD FED MY ART TO AI TO COLOR AND FINISH????????????? 😭😭😭😭😭

Coco's no longer green now --- she's entirely pink. Also there are 2 extra tassels on her cloak in places that don't make sense and she's missing a hand (cause I didn't finish drawing that). Her face no longer looks like Coco. Whyyyyyyyyyyy

WITCH HAT ATELIER CH 40 & 90-93 SPOILERS!!!!!!!

As a general rule of thumb, I avoid orufrey fics set before December 25 2025, which (I believe?) is the release date of Witch Hat Atelier ch 93. Specifically because of Qifrey characterization.

I know it's not the writer’s fault because they're just working with what info they had at the time but it just breaks my heart seeing Qifrey done like that 😭.

I once read a beautifully written Orufrey fanfic where Qifrey erases the atelier memory of him entirely, and during Olruggio and Qifrey's reconciliation with the "Qifrey erasing his memories" thing, I kept wondering what Olruggio's reaction to the fact that he came up with the memory erasure plan would be. And it never came. All the blame was put on Qifrey, which made me feel really sad. Then I looked at the publication date and went "oh".

So, lesson learned!

I see a lot of people asking why the witches couldn't make magic glasses for Tartah for his silverwash. But since people process color through the eye processing the wavelngths of light and the brain processing the wavelengths, could that really work without delving into medical practices/direct modifactions to the body?

I think my favorite part of being a manga witch hat atelier reader is watching anime-only fans come up with theories and interpretations. Especially about Qifrey, lol. I can’t wait for ch 40 to get animated and see a flood of Qifrey hate and/or mischaracterization. The switch up when ch 90-93 is animated is going to be hilarious.

Ignoring things like whether the person says no, if there’s enough money, language barriers, and other such restrictions, if you were the one in charge, what would your dream artist lineup be for any of the MXTX novels, or just any danmei novel?

For example, who would you hire as the cover artist, the interior artist, any chibi/animal art (think of the animal chibis on the French flaps for the last volumes), etc etc. If we’re going really fancy, then who would you choose for dust jackets, for the hardcover, the endpaper, the colored interior illustration at the very beginning, the painted edges, etc?

And if you’re willing to share, what would your vision be for the books? Would the cover be purely symbolical, a scene from the volume, or both? Which scene, what symbol, or how would you mix it? What about the painted edges? Are they connected? Would you have different endpapers? Would you include basic character illustrations? Translated author notes? What scenes would you commission the interior artist to draw? Tell me everything please!!!

Everyone knows about Evil-OOC!Shen Yuan for the sake of Shen Jiu in Shen Jiu centric fics, but no one talks about the amount of Evil-OOC!Shen Yuan in Ming Fan centric fics, specifically Bingfan fics.

Like most of the Bingfan fics I’ve read are really just Shen-Yuan-transmigrates-into-Ming-Fan-so-really-it’s-Bingyuan fics, and I’ve seen plenty of Bingfan fic summaries & tags that don’t involve Shen Yuan at all, or just ship him with another character. But I’ve also seen a good chunk of fics with Evil-OOC!Shen Yuan in Bingfan fics, specifically the neglectful-terrible-bad-no-good-lazy-useless-peak-lord-and-shizun-who-ignores-all-his-disciples-and-dumps-all-his-work-to-poor-overworked-little-meow-meow-Ming-Fan-to-fake-his-kindness-to-Binghe variation. This is typically paired with secretly-a-good-teacher-tsundere!Shen-Jiu.

The amount of fics like this pale in comparison to the amount of fics that do this in Shen Jiu centric fics, so I get why it’s not as widely talked about, but I haven’t seen anyone mention this at all. Can someone tell me why this phenomenon happens. Like I can sort of get it for Shen Jiu because I understand why some Shen Jiu fans hate him (even if their reasons for hating him tend to be nonsensical and OOC for me), but why does this happen with Ming Fan. What did Shen Yuan even do.
