So Ryan said at a con that he talked to Tim about changing Eddie’s plot in the last 2 episodes… so was it

1) him telling Buck to stay back with Con and Kam’s death

2) the Shannon parallel/talk scene with Hen

3) his involvement with the migrants (hospital/ice/Gabi)

4) him in the church praying.

5)getting stabbed/elevator bleeding out/recovery scene in the hospital with Buck,Chris, and Pepa.

6) Esteban going to live in El Paso with his parents.

Cause I’m genuinely curious of what was not supposed to be in the show before Ryan said something.

What if we get a realization from Eddie when Buck casually mentions, “oh I updated my will, you will become Theo’s legal guardian if anything happens to me. Like you did with me for Chris.” while they are washing dishes together after a weekly dinner and Eddie just pauses, looks at him, and oh.

Damn it. Now I need this fanfic on my desk stat!

Okay so a big nothing burger at the end that I didn’t already know. I feel like they rushed that ending.

I will say tho that it kinda shows how season 10 is gonna start at least the first half with:

•Mays internship(?) and Ravi helping her.

•Buck navigating his new life with Theo (Eddie helping like Buck did with Chris).

•I feel like maybe Eddie might do sometype of charity work (or helping Gabi) to help those who fall through the cracks in the system (it’s been a major plot for him this season as well as his faith).

•Harry finishing his probie year.

•Maddie either staying in a supervisor role (if Sue comes back) or realizing she’s not helping as many people and missing being a regular dispatcher.

I do feel like that they shifted the “view point” to Buck in place of Bobby. Cause Buck has had a lot of major plots this season. Even tho this season really has been more about “the 118” group as a whole. Buck does stand out more.

Plus the fanfics between now and season 10 starts filming in 2 months are gonna eat.

Rewatching Eddie Begins and just realizing that Eddie getting buried is because of a lightning strike.

I can’t handle the parallels.

I just realized something..

If Eddie DOES have an NDE in one of the last 2 episodes…

That means that both Buck and Eddie will have each had one in ONE season and only 4-5 episodes apart.

The last time i remember they did that was season 3 with Buck and Chris in the Tsunami, then Eddie in the well. Which was 12 episodes apart.

And the well was when Eddie changed his will ..

What does this mean?!

So we know Oscar is returning for atleast another episode, and how affected Eddie was by the whole incident WHAT IF

Eddie goes back to the hospital to help them out with the authorities. He's working with the 'chain of command' to ensure they're cared for and can stay in the US and go through the processes and constantly advocates for them. (I'm not from the US so can't comment on what it exactly may look like sorry)

Anyway, this is throwing a wrench in whatever plans (I assume trafficking and hence making big money) that detective's puppet masters have going on and they want to take Eddie out of the equation. Cue subplot of 'making it looks like an accident' that culminates on the bridge and has Buck looking like THAT™️ and the next season revolves around Athena solving this and getting that detective to face consequences for his actions and getting the big bad (puppeteers behind him)

I like this theory. Eddie’s face when those people were found and him carrying the boy… man was SUPER affected. I do think that if it happens it will be wrapped this season.

Unless Eddie falls off the bridge and goes “missing” so the opening Emergency in s10 is them thinking he’s dead/trying to find him.

Another thing I keep thinking is that if that happens, and Eddie’s “dead” but undercover, maybe at his “funeral” the detective guy/puppeteer tries to take out the rest of the 118 or something and Buck gets shot which results in a love confession.

Its been on my mind even tho I don’t think that would happen but it would redo the shooting arc (where they were supposed to go canon but Fox vetoed it), get a will mention(cause Buck would be Chris’s guardian) plus super angst and possibly a cliffhanger.

Or maybe I just like the Castle(Nathan Fillion show) love confession and would love to see it for Buddie 🤷‍♀️🤔

What does it mean?

Here’s what I found out.

And 911’s season finale title: Hearts and Flowers

That’s a lot of romantic undertones….

Could mean nothing…could mean everything…

Can anyone who analyzes this type of stuff explain what this could potentially mean? Cause I feel like there’s something here and I don’t know if I’m just seeing what I wanna see…

Cause to me? This feels like a realization arc for Buck and/or Eddie on how one/either/both feel about the other. Probably with an NDE for one of them Eddie based on Buck being held back in that promo and giving us “trapped in a well and digging with bare hands” vibes. And then season 10 with angst and love confessions (not necessarily in that order).

What does this mean to you? #BuddieCanon2026 or #BuddieCanon2027? Or neither?

Cause the other theory is another Major Character death Eddie and the finale is another funeral. But I don’t think the writers will do that 2 seasons in a row and possibly killing Buddie which is a good chunk of their fan base. That’s as effective as lying down in the 6 feet hole you just dug.

I prefer the former thank you very much.

Adding more to this to support my Buddie theory.

I got you babe is sung by Cher who is a major LGBTQ+ icon. “The lyrics focus on having someone stand by you, offering security and stability even if you lack money or conventional approval.” (I.e. you can have my back any day. Or you could have mine)

For 9x18-“LGBTQ+ organizations often use the phrase to affirm that queer love is valid, encouraging the community to celebrate their own "hearts and flowers" (intimacy and romance) regardless of tradition.”

Also double meaning which could be for the emergency of the episode as well. “In resources regarding LGBTQ+ partner abuse, "Hearts and Flowers" specifically refers to a phase in the cycle of violence where the abuser acts charming, apologetic, and attentive to prevent their partner from leaving.” I don’t know what exactly this could mean for the episode but I thought I’d include it.

Definition of “Hearts and Flowers”- show of sentiment or sentimentality : cloying expressions of endearment.

I did look up the negative to “Hearts and Flowers” because who knows what Tim Minear is gonna do(more likely to be the emergency)…. Here’s what came up-

These three moments from tonight. I mentioned this in my weekly favorite scene post but

Eddie told Buck years ago. There is nobody in this world he trusts with his son more then Buck.

And here Buck is. Rock bottom. Withdrawal in full swing. And Eddie still has that unshakable trust in Buck to be near his son. Everyone is there sure. But they are all inside busy. They aren’t outside with them. They aren’t watching them from a door or window. It’s just Buck and Chris. Even at his worst Eddie has full trust in Buck with Chris. Even when Buck doesn’t have trust in himself.

The moment we see Buck finally start to reach for help. Does it fully succeed? No. As we see he eventually sees the med vials and his withdrawal takes over. But he very much starts this scene trying to ask for help. And it’s Eddie. Because of course it’s Eddie Buck runs to when he needs help because he knows Eddie will always help him. Eddie is his safe space. His rock. His partner.

And then we have this Hen and Eddie scene. I can’t tell you how insane this makes me feel. Hen and Eddie. Discussing Buck and his addiction. Not Hen and Chim talking as friends or from one former captain to another current captain how did I miss this with my firefighter. Not Hen and Maddie how did I miss this he’s my brother.

No no No. it’s Hen and Eddie. Hen who we know has an ex partner who dealt with this. Hen has lived having a partner go down this road. She knows the signs. She knows how it’s miserable. How that guilt works. How you blame yourself. She knows the cycle. And now she’s having this conversation with Eddie because Buck is his partner. Like this is absolutely insane.
