three weeks of work have given me the longest fic i’ve ever written in a month. longest fic on my current page too. pretty sure it’s imbued with a bit of my soul. if you like androids, the murderbot diaries, and/or detroit:become human, this one’s for you :))

The concept for this is a season 10 inspired space au. Inspired by his base, Mumbo comes to station HC-10 to escape his past at Mined to start a tech superstore called Big Ron's. His name is totally Ron (that fake name lasted 1 hour).
In this au he is a bug-like, moth-man-like, alien that can subtly shapeshift using his exoskeleton and wings. He also has these antenna like whiskers that he uses to sense redstone. (His alien species would eat redstone and hitch rides onto spacecraft)
Definitely got that found family hurt/comfort idea going on. Mumbo overworks himself but the hermits check in on him to make sure he is okay! Sometimes that means getting him a blanket if he falls asleep at his desk!
His whiskers do that like, kick thing that pets do when they sleep

The concept is GIGGS but what if Dungeons and Dragons Party!
Skizzleman is a Firbolg Druid. Impulse is a Dwarf Bard. Scar is either a Fighter, Rogue, or Ranger Elf. Grian is a PurpleTM wizard Warlock. Gem is a Goliath Cleric!
I feel Skizz is just spiritually a firbolg. He just is, mkay?
I feel impulse would enjoy playing a bard a lot because he loves helping his friends!!!
I think Scar as far as dnd classes go would enjoy playing Rogue or Fighter, and I felt like either would be a good option for playing an archer.
Grian is a purple magic man. Ive watched a lot of the mighty nein. Get me? He would. I feel it in my bones.
Gem is inspired by my current campaign where goliaths are descendants of the sun god, and my character is a demigod-goliath barbarian basically. This made me think a goliath light domain cleric would go SO hard.
I had the idea for the background first, since I had a cool idea to make this snowy evergreen cliff battlemap of sorts! This would be a fun idea for a one shot! This is a totally normal land bridge! Totally safe icy cliffs!
You can only imagine im excited for GIGG and pixlriffs to play dnd... this is not me making predictions for that! But this is also me thinking about what kind of PCs they might enjoy playing lol

They requested fluff and wholesome holiday scenario, so I figured a fun scene of Scar and Grian getting holiday pictures taken at Scarland would be fun! As I drew the picture, I thought it'd be Mumbo behind the camera :D
I never left hermitcraft season 9, especially during the holidays / empires crossover. I also love the food at theme parks and get a kick out of eating a cake replica of your fav character. I have been trying to get better at backgrounds too, so what better practice than an iconic scar christmas tree!
One thing that fascinates me about etho and bdubs is they have such a specific call and response in how they speak to each other. Like their tones wash in and out like a seesaw. Like, a step forward and then a retreat. A challenge and then a question. A suggestion and then a faint.
If anyone's at twitchcon and i have elven kisses cookies for people that say my scar cosplay is very pretty haha

On a more serious note, season 10 has been such a lovely and awesome season and im pumped for the twitchcon panel.

I think a great idea of a life series zine or event would be "there's only one bed" with the amount of times where they put just one respawn bed in their bases this series.
All the love i see for evo in past life and the merch has me shaking grian by the shoulders in my mind like the curtains are blue.

Notes:
The green robe i have so far is very dramatic and feminine, so i was thinking a belt or sash would add a more masculine silhouette to it. Especially if i wear it below my natural waist.
I have been debating on purchasing it or making it myself, as everything else so far is handmade.
I think a leather belt or leather corset with gold accents would be most accurate to the skin.
Life series teams because Scar gave me the idea for his on stream
I was sooooo on point with Gem's team rocket vibes but I just got the wrong teammates lol
3/4 of cabin core is not bad but easy to predict
I also was right with Joel and Jimmy teaming but otherwise I 'predicted' wrong for the rest not that these were serious predictions lol
