Hello! I'm an artist migrant from other platforms that failed me. :)

I like sci-fi, animals and monsters. Expect me to dump backlog of art relating to one or all of those, and make new art on the way too.

I wanted a second blog to dedicate to art posts and put this mound of text on, but it got autoflagged for mature content for whatever inane reason. Since l cannot have nice things due to tumblr ai considering (checks scribble on hand) a lizard man to be too risqué for people to look at, this will be relegated into my all-purpose account after all.

My artwork will be universally tagged as "Sarck art" for the sake of finding it amidst reblogs and whatever the hell else.

I range from drawing:

Kaiju (either independent or from my Godzilla fan project, refer to header image),

Speculative evolution (independent, or fanart for the project Serina: A Natural History Of The World Of Birds that a really special, cool, wubflubbery guy made),

Real fauna (some dinosaurs and such),

Some wackier stuff defying classification (content for my personal spec-evolution/fantasy/sci-fi worldbuilding project, refer to header image),

And a charitable dose of garbage posting (doodling my mascot Nero, or whatever is funny at the time).

Also note, l draw sporadically and unreliably. But l have fun.

Doing sleepy lizard fieldwork in the Mid Murray today involved bountiful encounters with goofy fellas as usual

This guy is somehow missing the keratin on most of his large tail scales, revealing the bony scutes (osteoderms) beneath. We’re not exactly sure how this occurred, hopefully he’s not scuffed up too bad, but it is quite cool to look at

Then there’s grumps over here, sucking on his pacifier. We named him Cupcake after his delightful personality

Cupcake is now getting clamped because he’s naughty and bit someone (actually just taking a measurement of head depth)

Polite gentleman patiently getting his tail measured (not a sleepy lizard, doesn’t want to be here)

Artist's commentary: La Polilla has arrived! Taught me that arthropods are not fun to draw. It'll certainly get worse the more l dive into the toho kaiju sauce. Design based on neuropterans such as owlflies. Larva based on lacewing larvae - itself also a neuropteran.

just like what a strange little creature. theyre related to hummingbirds. they cant actually sit and perch like most birds, the best they can do is cling to vertical surfaces. almost everything they do is done in mid-air. they have to drink by swooping at the surface of water with their mouth open. they build nests out of twigs they break off of branches as they fly by. they eat 5000-6000 bugs a day. And theyre the next president, of the united states of america

GODZILLA, KING OF THE MONSTERS

Artist's commentary: the big man needing no introduction, yet always makes one hell of an entrance anyway. Draws design cues from Millennium, Heisei and King Kong Vs goji incarnations - my favourites. Unlike many people l like ears on gojira so l gave him really biggly ones. :)

Mockup of Godzilla in his neutral posture for visual reference. He's lunged forward in the midst of an atomic beam attack in the primary art, so he appears misleadingly horizontal postured, when it is not really his typical walking stance. Not a perfect mockup, the barbels should be flattened down at rest and the elbows pulled back more.
