I love how the entire Dracula fandom agreed that the Brides are just the Count’s weirdo roommates in a lesbian polycule who live in his basement, smoke weed and play Smash all day instead of paying rent. Really warms the heart.

I completely understand why Jacquelyn couldn’t be in season three and why Larry’s role was so reduced. Thematically, it makes the most sense. But I really do miss seeing them just trying to get through the day.

Concerning clowns and dignity

They have no kings, no gods, and no laws beyond what's fair and what's funny. They will respect you in their own way, but only on their own terms.

You cannot shame a clown in any way that matters.

You cannot silence the clowns in any way that matters.

The only way to offend a clown is to try to silence them.

Nobody has dignity unless the clowns allow it. If you don't like how they treat you as a friend, you won't like the way they treat you as a threat.

can’t think too long about how vicbride is so connected by their flawed perceptions of henry frankenstein. how much victoria would be in awe that one of her great great grandfather’s creations is still alive, only for it to absolutely hate her on assumptions driven by said creation’s poor image of him, and to have to really come to terms with his failings. how the bride would have to break her stubborn insistence and see that the last frankenstein left is not henry (however much she tries to be), and deal with the grief associated with seeing his progeny take genuine care of her creation when her creator couldn’t. somebody sedate me.

white people are so fucking annoying like i’m still so mad about that person calling sinners “het slop” like, to watch sammie and pearline fall in love in a night and be separated by death within hours and then later see he named his bar/band after her all those years later

to see delta slim, who met sammie HOURS PRIOR and gave his life to make sure sammie was able to live and shine with his gifts forever

to see smoke and annie, separated by love and grief over the death of their infant daughter and united by the same things

to see stack and mary separated by the racial dynamics of their time and the dangers of society, given a second chance in death to walk the world together forever

to see grace fucking chow!!!! literally kill her husband and go down with him in flames because of the love for her daughter

to see sammie! sweet sammie moore the preacher boy who only wanted to play his music and let his light shine, unknowingly piercing the veil between life and death, inviting the ancestors and descendants to every party he plays, who was willing to die for the love of music and his freedom! who defeated the evil with the power of music and ancestry and got to LIVE!

to see smoke die in acceptance after slaying the kkk after fighting off vampires for the entire night and having to stab the love of his life in the chest, to see him reunite with her and their child after a night of horror

to see smoke and stack lovingly embrace and try to build a communal space for their community and family to be free of all struggles just for a few hours and be torn apart

to see ALL OF THIS and reduce the movie to, “het slop” is just insane and racist like there’s no other way to slice it

one of these days maybe I’ll finally sit down and write an essay about how an extremely niche character in a theme park is actually a more interesting and accurate adaptation of frankenstein by mary shelley than either the 1931 or the 2025 movies ever could be but tbh the world isn’t ready for that conversation yet and I’d need to do more research into it before fully being sure of myself anyway
