"Valarr ran his fingers through Daeron’s messy hair to have a better view on his face. Drool gathered in one corner of his mouth and his eyes were closed though moving restlessly behind the lids; he was completely still aside from that. His breathing had turned from heavy inhales to a shallow intake of air. He looked deathly pale with a sheen of sweat across forehead and cheeks. 

A feeling of utter helplessness tightened Valarr’s chest as he looked at Daeron’s pathetic sight. The very same sensation that had engrossed him when his mother had first told him that Maekar would not hold celebrations for Daeron’s eighteenth nameday.

Valarr had wanted to go to Summerhall anyway; if only to make sure his cousin was not dying. Of course, Jena had not allowed it, though she had smiled softly at her son’s visible worry. 

'You will see him soon, I am sure,' she had said. Soon turned out to be half a year later, now, for Valarr’s own birthday, and what he saw of Daeron hurt him."

Aerion Targaryen is a famous figure skater. Currently holding the first place in world ranking, he plans to win his first olympic gold in Italy. His only real competition: his cousin Valarr.

But the Aerion accidentally runs into Duncan Waters, the hockey prodigy for team Canada, and in suddenly Aerion not only had the medal on his mind.
