Like when Gandalf spent literal PAGES trying to figure out why the vibes were off in Moria and Legolas chimes in with just "it's a balrog :) that shit's evil :) we're so fucked :)" like what do you MEAN you knew already and just didn't tell him??
Or at the beginning of Two Towers when Aragorn thinks there's something nearby so he puts his ear to the ground to listen, and then like 10 minutes later is like "hmmm i hear horses" and Legolas is just like "mm yep. there are 105 blond bitches with spears" like you just let your friend put his face in the dirt and you can SEE them??

is this niche piece of media really that popular or is my one mutual really going through something: a tale of tumblr
but like. genuinely its so fucking frustrating how many times fandom will take a character of color and fill in every single blank about them with racial stereotypes. and then if they receive pushback it's all "don't like don't read!" and "it's literally not that deep" and "i'm just playing with my touys!" and whatnot. god forbid you have to think about racism for two fucking minutes

the ability to see more beauty in the world is a skill. the more beauty you see, the more comes to you, the more you create yourself. so much of the disempowerment people feel is because they are trained to see the ugly and negative in everything. you have to unpick your mind from the lure of negativity and train yourself to find beauty. if you want a beautiful life, it starts with learning to find the beauty everywhere.
