Bhism: Have you ever broken a bone?
Bheem: Yes.
Bhism: Did it hurt?
Bheem: No.
Bhism: How?
Bheem: It was Dushasan's.
Arjun: What's the most you got from a guy?
Draupadi: A headache.
The Sun And The Moon
Chapter 13 - Kuru’s Heir
"We all are gathered here to announce the future of the Kuru clan." Bhism started, "We shall decide who will be the next king."
"It is decided that the Kuru kingdom will be divided between the Kauravs and the Pandavs and Pitamah will accompany the Pandavs to wherever King Dhritarashtra wants them to rule." Vidhur added.
Divyanshi glared at Karn, and he looked down not able to look into her eyes. "I knew it!" she mumbled.
"This is absolutely wrong!" Duryodhan raged.
"You are getting to rule Hastinapur, what is wrong in that?" Bhism asked.
Dhritarashtra interrupted, "I am still the king, Taatshree. The partition will need my permission and I will decide if you will leave Hastinapur or not." he said, Divyanshi rolled her eyes. "And I don't allow you to accompany the Pandavs, they will only get to rule their territory."
The simple conversation turned into a heated debate. If the were allowed to hit each other, half of the people would in hospital. Divyanshi and Karn passed looks at each other as neither of them had any right to speak in the matter. Vidhur gave suggestions to Pandavs which they agreed on but Duryodhan's dramatic ass couldn't bear to see the Pandavs happy. To fulfil his son's happiness Dhritarashtra announced his decision.
"I get to decide because I am the King. There won't be any discussions now!" Dhritarashtra announced.
"Then why did you waste our time?" Divyanshi muttered. Her eyes fell on the Pandavs, Yudhishtir was calm but also ready to speak about any injustice. Bheem was full of rage. Arjun had his eyebrows furrowed, he was sad with the upcoming unfair decision. Nakul and Sahadev, both were looking at Bheem, wanting him to take the matter into his hands and Duryodhan's neck into his biceps. She glanced at Draupadi who was standing right next to the Pandavs, she was sweating and looked pale.
"I declare that Pandu putr Yudhishtir will get to be the independent king of Khandavprasth." The King announced.
Duryodhan and Dushasan smirked, while Shakuni was proud of Dhritarashtra for the first time. Divyanshi looked at the Pandavs and Draupadi to see their reaction, as expected, they were sad but Draupadi looked paler then she was earlier. Divyanshi approached her in hurry but was late as Draupadi fainted.
"Why be so dramatic? What did she expect from us?" Dushasan quacked.
Divyanshi gave him a sharp look and Karn knew what was to be done. "Mitr Duryodhan," he said.
"Yes, Mitr Karn?" Duryodhan nodded.
"Please tell your brother to shut up." Karn said firmly and looked away. Maybe he was feeling strange after saying something rude after ages.
"You'll be ok, girl?" Divyanshi held her best friend, "Don't sleep! Wake up, darling!"
Arjun lifted Draupadi and carried her to her room. He placed her on the bed gently. "Call a vaidya someone!" he said.
The vaidya came and checked Draupadi. Everyone was worried, surprisingly Duryodhan was tensed. He and Shakuni were discussing something in private. Karn held Divyanshi's hand and passed her a comforting smile, Shakuni noticed this and smirked to himself.
"Congratulation!" the vaidya came out of the room, "She is pregnant."
For a moment Divyanshi became deaf, she could hear her heartbeat, she felt it speeding up. "What?" she was surprised.
The Pandav brother hugged each other. Duryodhan and Shakuni were sad to hear the news as Duryodhan didn't have any children, he was afraid.
"It is such a great news!" Bhism said, "The Kuru clan now has an heir. Kuru's heir!"
"She's pregnant! Oh lord! I can't believe it!" Divyanshi rambled.
"Congratulations!" Karn hugged Yudhishtir and gained a jealous look from Duryodhan.
"Mere bacche, can't you see?" Shakuni tried to add salt to Duryodhan's wounds.
"See what?" Duryodhan asked annoyingly.
"This new girl has already snatched your friend from you." Shakuni said, Duryodhan thought about it. "Thinking won't solve it. We must do something about it."
"Like what? You want me to kill her?" Duryodhan glared at Divyanshi, if looks could Divyanshi would be-nah! Not dead. He was a weak bastard.
"Killing her isn't the solution. Lakshagraha didn't work, did it?" Shakuni said, "I am saying that if we get her on our side, it will profit us. And if we fail, which I doubt we will but if we do, everything will be Karn's fault."
"How? How will it be his fault?" Duryodhan questioned.
"Because he will be our medium, mere bacche." Shakuni spread a wide smile across his face.
"You want me to betray the girl I call 'sister'?" Duryodhan asked.
"I want you to punish the girl who might ruin your chances to be the king." Shakuni defended.
"I am pretty sure that they are the same person." Duryodhan said.
"Oh! Then you mustn't feel bad doing this." Shakuni manipulated him.
"This-It's-"
"Don't think too much about it, mere bacche! I will help you." Shakuni interrupted him.
"Mitr, are you not happy?" Karn approached Duryodhan.
"What?" Duryodhan said with a fake smile, "Rubbish! I am happy."
"Oh! Good to hear. Divyanshi is ready with the names." Karn said.
"You two seem pretty close, Angraj." Shakuni spoke.
"Yes, we are friends." Karn replied.
"If you want I can convince her to marry you." Shakuni said.
"What-what?" Karn stammered.
"Ha! Mamashree, what are you saying?" Duryodhan elbowed him.
"You both heard me right." Shakuni said, "I would love to see you both getting married."
"But-I-" Karn couldn't process the words.
"Are you scared she will not marry you?" Shakuni asked faking concern.
Duryodhan kept looking at his uncle blabbering absolute nonsense with perfect confidence.
"I am." Karn spoke.
"Then don't worry. I will help you convince her to marry you." Shakuni patted Karn's shoulder. "After all, you are like a son to me."
"Thank you but I really have to think on this topic. She might not be interested in marrying me." Karn said and left.
"What was that? How is this going to solve our problems?" Duryodhan inquired.
"You are my nephew, aren't you?" Shakuni turned his head to his new victim, he saw her talking to Arjun and smiling. "We must get her on our side before it's too late. She is an asset."
"Then why Karn?" Duryodhan was confused, he wanted Karn and her to be together but he wasn't able to accept the fact that Shakuni would be plotting against both of them.
"Because you won't be marrying her, you call her your sister and I am pretty sure no one would want to marry Dushasan..." He glanced at Dushasan trying to get his hand off the flower vase, he was pretty clumpy. "That's why Karn, he is your mitr and won't betray you. We can control the woman once she gets married."
"This should work or else both of their lives will be ruined." Duryodhan showed concern.
"Why must you worry, mere bacche? They are nothing to you. They are just some obstacles in between you and the Kuru throne." Shakuni smirked.

Chapter 12 - Wedding
"I ask you one last time, are you sure you don't want to elope?" Divyanshi asked Dushala while placing the mangtika on her head.
"Heavens no! Sindhraj is such a good man." Dushala pouted.
"Babe, he isn't." Divyanshi sighed.
"Yes, he isn't." Draupadi agreed.
"Exactly, he isn't." Krishnn agreed.
"See, he is agreeing too!" Divyanshi spoke, "But only if you want to marry him, we can spare his life."
"What do you mean by sparing his life?" Dushala asked, "You weren't going to kill him, right?" she chuckled. Divyanshi didn't say anything, avoiding eye contact. Draupadi cleared her throat and Krishnn left the room before being questioned. "Right?"
"Obviously no! Silly!" Divyanshi hugged Dushala, while hugging her she signed Draupadi to hide the sword under the pillow.
"You almost gave me a heart attack." Dushala said.
The moment finally came which Dushala waited for but Divyanshi didn't much. Dushala sat at the mandap and the rituals were performed. Divyanshi felt the sudden feeling to puke when she looked at Sindhraj, the thought that Dushala, a beautiful angel like woman was getting married to a man who looked worse than Freddy Krueger made her sick. Which reminded her of Draupadi, she looked sick too.
"Are you ok?" she asked Draupadi.
"Yes, what would happen to me?" Draupadi lightly laughed at her question.
"Did you see the vaidya after the ring ceremony?" Divyanshi questioned.
"Oh! I forgot." Draupadi remembered, "I will after the wedding."
"I don't think you will. I will make sure to take you to the vaidya with me." Divyanshi said.
"Yeah, yeah." Draupadi muttered.
It was done. The wedding was over and Dushala was now married to Jaydrath. Divyanshi was uncomfortable by seeing Dushala standing next to Jaydrath. The newly wed couple stood in front of the palace, the elders gave them their blessing, Jaydrath didn't like the idea of bending down to touch his elders feet; he grunted each time he had to touch someone's feet.
Divyanshi hugged Dushala and sneakily handed her a mini dagger and a small vial of some liquid, assumingly poison, "If he hurts you-"
"You want me to kill myself?" Dushala questioned.
"Oh! Hell no!" Divyanshi said, "Either kill him in his sleep or poison his morning tea. Remember, I am always there for you and if you want to run like right now blink once. Also, if you change your mind and will elope afterwards, you can go to Dwarka, your brother will send you back otherwise."
"I hope those thing to not happen." Dushala assured her.
"What is this strange feeling? Who's cutting onions?" Divyanshi couldn't hold back her tears.
"I know you love me and I would love to elope with you in my next life but listen here," Dushala started, "I absolutely support your relationship with 'him' but wait till you guys are married."
"Wait for what?" Divyanshi asked.
"And I thought you were the bad influence." Dushala sighed and hugged her once again before leaving with Jaydrath.
"I wonder if I did wrong." Divyanshi heard Duryodhan as he watched his sister leave.
"No, Yuvraj Duryodhan. It had to be done or else there would've been a war." Dushasan said.
"I am sorry what?" Nakul objected raising his voice.
"What happened?" asked Dushasan.
"I guess I heard you wrong. It's not 'Yuvraj' Duryodhan because the last time I remember it was 'Yuvraj' Yudhisthir and oh, it still is!" Nakul said.
"No, it my brother who was crowned to be the king." Dushasan protested.
"Well, we forgive you for your mistake, Pandu putr Nakul but it is now Duryodhan who is the Yuvraj." Shakuni interrupted.
"If the people who tried to burn us alive in Lakshagraha succeeded, I am sure it would've been Duryodhan who'd be the next king but as you can see, we are alive." Bheem said, "He is not the Yuvraj."
"Why is it always me who gets stuck in family drama?" Divyanshi questioned her life then remembered she didn't have one.
"Who cares about what happened in the past?" Duryodhan spoke up, "I am the Yuvraj! And I get to be the next king!"
"Tell your 'bestie' to calm down!" Divyanshi whispered to Karn.
"What's a 'bestie'?" he asked.
"Ugh! Why can't just I die?" she muttered.
"You did die once. It wasn't so pleasant." Krishnn reminded her.
"This is injustice!" Arjun spoke, "Pitamah, why don't you say something?"
"I understand you, putr but now is not the time to discuss this." Bhism said, "I will discuss with elders and announce about this topic tomorrow."
"Such a good day which is ruined. Wonderful!" Divyanshi sighed and went to her room.
She lied on the bed without taking of her jewellery. She groaned at the thought of Draupadi leaving, it was obvious that the Pandavs would get Indraprasth. She heard a knock on the door. She got up and opened it, it was Karn.
"You didn't come at our place, I thought you were sick." Karn said. They both spend time together in the palace garden. They both knew that their feeling were mutual but both didn't have the courage to admit it.
"I am not sick. I am worried." her voice was low. She motioned him to enter and he did. "I don't like the idea of the kingdom being divided between the brothers.
"But nothing has been announced." Karn said.
"I know what will happen tomorrow and I am worried about it." she sat on the bed.
"Maybe it will." he sat beside her, "Maybe the kingdom wouldn't get divided and the brothers will live peacefully."
"I would dye my hair pink if that comes true." she scoffed.
"Pink would look good on you." he tried to make her smile.
She didn't respond with a smile, instead with a sigh. "Kill me already!"
"Don't say those bad things!" he said, "God forbid but I won't be able to see you-" he couldn't complete.
"I am not dying soon. Don't worry about me and you aren't dying soon too. We can enjoy." she said.
"You've seen me die? Was it satisfying?" he asked. She looked at him with confusion in her eyes, she opened her mouth but closed it. "My death, was it peaceful? Did I do good?"
"Please don't make me answer that." she couldn't look into his eyes anymore.
"I did something bad, didn't I?" he questioned, "That is why you made me promise to-" he sighed, "I will choose. I choose you." he said with a firm look.

Chapter 11 - Mehendi
"I told you to settle the matter with him but you kissed him? Again?" Draupadi held her head sighing, "How is this better?"
"Well, he kissed me first. I just went with the flow." Divyanshi explained.
"I just can't wait to dance on your wedding." Dushala said.
"Not happening." Divyanshi chuckled, "I ain't marrying anyone here. No one is good here and those who are good are either married or they don't exist."
"But you have to marry someday." Draupadi reminded her.
"I am so young to even think about my marriage." Divyanshi sighed dramatically.
"Such a drama queen!" Dushala said, "What are you wearing on my mehendi?"
"I don't know. I thought Draupadi will decide for me." Divyanshi lied on her bed.
"I am not your mother. You have to decide for yourself." Draupadi scolded.
"Sure, mataji." Divyanshi joined her hands. They all laughed. "Listen babe, I will apply mehendi on your hand." she said to Dushala.
"And I will apply mehendi on yours." Dushala said.
"Deal?"
"Deal!"
"What about me?" Draupadi pouted.
"We will divide the work." Divyanshi said and Dushala nodded.
The Mehendi was the only event Divyanshi didn't have to prepare for much. She wore a peacock blue lehenga and sapphire jewellery. She applied mehendi on Dushala's hand, a beautiful pair of birds in love.
"It looks good." Dushala commented.
"Where is your man?" Divyanshi asked.
"I don't know." Dushala answered.
Divyanshi saw Jaydrath coming to their direction, he had a black eye and a few bruises on his face. She snickered at him when he sat beside Dushala. "Karma is my boyfriend. Karma's a god." she mumbled.
"Here you are!" Draupadi held out her hand and Divyanshi stood up, "My turn now."
"What should I draw?" Divyanshi asked.
"Flowers?" Draupadi suggested.
"Good idea!" Divyanshi praised and drew flowers on her hand. "Great, now don't let anyone else draw on the other hand. Dushala will be mad."
"Ok, should I do your mehendi?" Draupadi asked.
"I am sorry but I promised Dushala to let her." Divyanshi denied.
"You have two hands." Draupadi said.
"I know that but I have eat too." Divyanshi explained.
"Don't worry about that." Karn appeared, "I will help you eat."
"As you wish." Divyanshi smiled.
"These two!" Draupadi mumbled.
Draupadi drew a huge circle on Divyanshi's hand and divided it with a curved line. She decorated the first half with curved head triangles and left the second one blank with four sided stars on the outside.
"Wow! The Sun And The Moon!" Divyanshi said in awe, "It looks beautiful. Thanks, darling. I love you so much."
"Indeed, it looks good." Karn complimented, "My turn."
"You want me to draw on your hand too?" asked Draupadi, she already knew the answer but just wanted to tease them both.
"I-I will draw on his hand, Draupadi. You don't need to worry." Divyanshi interrupted.
"Yeah, good idea." Karn agreed.
"Of course, now you will agree with her." Draupadi mumbled a bot loud because they both heard her.
"My name won't fit in your hand." Divyanshi said holding his hand.
"Draw a moon then." he said.
"Sure." she said and drew a moon similar like what Draupadi drew on her hand.
"It looks good, Mitr." Duryodhan complimented.
"I drew it of course it does." Divyanshi smiled.
Duryodhan turned to her, "I gave Jaydrath a beating. He won't trouble you or anyone now."
"Thank you." Divyanshi said. Duryodhan left. "Who wants a cute mehendi design on their hand?" she announced.
"Oh! I could try one." Bheem said.
"I should draw a mace, right?" she asked.
"Maybe some sweets too." he added.
"Absolutely!" she said.
"Our turn now!" Nakul dragged Sahedev with him.
"No, I don't want one." Sahedev whined.
"It will look good. Trust me!" Divyanshi managed to convince him.
She drew the Twin God, Ashwins on their hands. Shakuni had a snake drawn his hand and Dushasan asked for two swords colliding with each other, which was complicated to draw but Divyanshi managed to do so.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jaydrath is a pathetic person. I'd love to see him die." Divyanshi said as she walked with Karn. After the mehendi she was tired but spending time with him made her forget her of all the pain.
"I can agree on that." Karn agreed, "He held you tightly?" he asked in concern.
"Yes, he did. It was sickening." she replied in a low voice.
"I am sorry I should've been there." he said.
"Why are you apologising? You won't be always with me and I have to protect myself in those situations." she smiled looking at him, he furrowed his eyebrows noticing the change in her emotions. He knew it was all pretend.
"You and mother are the same." he started, "Hiding your emotions in front of me won't solve your problems. I am here for you."
She softly chuckled, "I only have one problem at the moment and I need a favour from you."
"What is it?" he asked.
"Promise me, when the right time comes and you have to choose between me and the other person at the 'situation', you will choose me." she said in a serious voice.
"That's something out of the blue." he mustn't have noticed the seriousness in her voice, he smiled.
"Promise me that, Angraj. I am dead serious." she said.
"I promise you, I will always choose you." he looked in eyes and swore. "Now, help me sleep. You've given me enough things to think about."
"Sure," she followed him to his bedroom, "Would you like a story?" (Comment honestly, were you expecting something spicy?)
"That would do." he said.
They got on the bed, "Let me remember some movies," she thought.
"Movies?" he asked.
"Long videos with a story." she explained.
"Yeah, 'videos' you told me about them." he nodded and lied on her lap.
"Yes, I can remember one. I was watching just the night before I came to this yug." She said, playing with his hair.
"What's it called?" he asked.
"Sairat," she replied and narrated, "There is a boy and a girl-"
"Classic!" Karn grinned.
"Don't interrupt me!" she playfully hit his arm, "The boy is a fisherman's son and the girl is basically rich. They study together in college which is where we do our higher studies. They are into each other and one day, the girl invites the boy to her brother's birthday. A huge celebration I must say and the song was a blast!" Divyanshi said being distracted.
"You are going off topic." he reminded her in his sleepy voice.
"Right! The couple meets in the backyard and well, they are caught. So, her family basically beats the boys a lot and they try to elope but are discovered by the police, our yug's guards. The boy is beaten again but in the meantime, the girl somehow manages to grab a weapon and they run, again. They travel to Hyderabad, a town in Andhra and try to survive. One day, a woman finds out they are homeless and offers them a place to live. Time passes and they are heated arguments between the couple but in the end of the day they are happy together. They marry and the girl gets pregnant." she noticed him humming half asleep, "Several years later, they were better off financially and living in a better place. The girl informed her mother about her life. After that, her brother and her relatives arrived with gifts from her mother in an apparent reconciliation. The son visited a neighbour; the couple invited the girl's brother and the other visitors into their house, and served them tea. A horrible scene I must say, the son returned with the neighbour who left him at his doorstep and saw his parents on the floor, bathed with blood." Divyanshi saw him in a deep sleep. She sighed, "I don't want the same fate." she shed a tear from left eye.
The Sun And The Moon
Chapter 10 - Threatened
The ceremony was short and pretty boring. Divyanshi spent her time eating with Krishnn and clicking pictures.
"Can I click your picture?" She asked Krishnn.
"I suggest you to not do that. You know what happens to people when they try to sneak in the Prem mandir at night." He said.
She sighed, "Not gonna try to do that."
She clicked more pictures, mostly of Karn. No one noticed her doing that except Krishnn, of course and Jaydrath. He had his eyes set on her the moment he entered the palace. He knew that she was the girl from the future and was curious to know her deeply.
After the ceremony, Divyanshi was stuffed. She decided to walk around the palace. Not knowing that some other person might have the same idea, she bumped into someone while blindly walking.
"Ouch! My head!" She held her head as it ached.
"Does it hurt?" Karn asked, he looked sad when he realised that his armor hurt her.
"Obviously it does!" She said.
"Let me." He said and touched her head, she looked in his eyes while he set his hand on her forehead observing the injury. "There isn't any blood thankfully. The bruise has faded so it won't pain now."
"What are you-you doing at this hour?" Divyanshi asked out of the blue.
"I could ask you the same." He said.
They both stayed in silence looking at every possible direction but not eachother. "I am sorry for what I did that day. I panicked and it was inappropriate according to this yug."
"No, it was good!" He said, "I-I mean it's ok. I don't blame you. I raised my-my voice too." He stammered.
"We're square?" She confirmed.
"I guess." He softly spoke, "We can walk together. We should I guess."
"Yes, yes. You are right." Divyanshi agreed.
It was awkward for them to look at eachother without those hundred questions popping up in their mind.
"Your yug, how do people talk? You seem to struggle a bit to translate a few words." He asked, they stopped at the corridor at a balcony.
"Bharat is now a smaller country comparative to this time. It has been invaded a lot so there are many languages. Most of them are ours but languages like English and Urdu are foreign, not ours." She explained.
"So, you people use English a lot, right?" He asked.
"Mostly but I like Hindi more. It has emotion. Hindi is a sanskari language to be honest. But it can be romantic." She said.
"How does a man greet a woman in your yug?" He asked.
She smirked, she thought that her smirk would distract him from the loud thumps of heartbeat, "Well, romantically he takes her hand and kisses it."
He slowly took her near his mouth and kissed it gently, "Like this?" He asked.
"Oh this is nothing!" She smirked.
"What is then? A kiss?" He asked. He brought his brought his lips near her's and waited.
"Don't keep me waiting." She said.
He smirked and kissed her passionately. She enjoyed the moment while holding on his neck as he grabbed her tight by the waist. They both were distracted by eachother that they didn't notice someone looking at them.
~~~~~~~~
"He is Guru Dron." Duryodhan introduced Divyanshi to Dronacharya.
"Pranaam!" She greeted him, "You must be Aswathama." She looked at a tall man who had a blue stone studded on his forehead.
"And you are correct." He said.
"As always!" She smiled.
The morning after the 'incident' was good for Divyanshi as she enjoyed everything she did. From dressing up to talking to the person she didn't like much, Dushasan; she was calm.
"What has happened to you?" asked Draupadi.
"You don't want to know, trust me." Divyanshi said remembering the last time she told her about her kiss.
The next event was haldi, Divyanshi couldn't stop looking at Karn. Draupadi knew something had happened between the two them because they made it obvious by passing eachother smirks.
"What are you doing?" Draupadi inquired when she saw Divyanshi taking a picture of Karn, when Karn spotted Draupadi, he ran away from her sight.
"Oh just taking pictures of a beautiful view!" Divyanshi answered.
"What is it between you two," Draupadi said, "I can help you both."
"Trust me, whatever is going between 'us' is going fine." Divyanshi told her.
"I hope so." Draupadi said.
"By the way, this Sindhraj looks awful in that outfit." Divyanshi whispered to her, "It's so basic."
"Don't say that. It's rude." Draupadi scolded.
"Truth is often brutal, darling." Divyanshi said.
Sindhraj got off the alter, he was covered in haldi, he bumped into Divyanshi on his way out.
"Oh! I didn't see you." He said.
"No, it's ok." She tried to wipe of the haldi stain of her saree but it was one nasty stain.
"Could you help me with this?" He asked.
"Sure." Divyanshi had to agree as she had no option. She gave Draupadi a look, Draupadi nodded.
Washing of the stains was a mess. Divyanshi sighed when her favourite saree was ruined. "This was my favourite." She said.
"I can gift you the exact same saree." He said grinning.
Knowing his intentions she denied, "Good gesture but please no."
"Why not?" He asked.
"I just don't want another." She said and tried to leave.
"I saw your yantr filled with Karn." Jaydrath smirked. She stopped, she knew what he meant. He had seen her clicking Karn's pictures. "So you agree." He set his' lustful gaze on her.
"How will you even prove it?" She asked confidently.
"They know I won't lie. Also, they know what you are like." He walked closer to her, "What would their reaction be when they hear what you and 'him' did last night?"
"You saw it?" She asked, "Are you jealous?"
"If you spend one night with me, just one, I will not tell anyone about what happened." He smirked and tried to grab her by her waist.
She slapped his hand and pushed him back, "What if I say 'no', ball-chined!" She sneered.
"How dare you!" He yelled.
"There! You messed up." She smirked.
"What's happening?" Karn asked. He was followed by Duryodhan and Krishnn.
"Look at him, such shameless person he is!" Divyanshi said dramatically.
"What do you mean?" Duryodhan inquired.
"He is trying to threaten me to sleep with him. How disgusting! The audacity he has-I mean look at his face, ew!" Divyanshi explained the situation
"She is a shameless girl. You have no idea what she did!" Jaydrath defended himself.
"Don't you dare say that about her!" All the three men said in unison. Divyanshi looked at them in awe, she smiled to herself knowing she had good people in her life.
"You don't trust me, Yuvraj Duryodhan? You have no idea what they both have done!" Jaydrath continued, he pointed at Karn and Divyanshi.
Divyanshi signed Karn that Jaydrath knew about the kiss. Karn nodded understanding the situation whereas Krishnn was smiling enjoying the drama.
"What have we done, Sindhraj? Do you care to explain?" asked Karn.
"You both kissed last night, I saw it!" Jaydrath said.
"You did?" Duryodhan asked to Karn.
"You trust him? Not me?" Karn asked him back.
Divyanshi and Krishnn snickered and hid their face.
"Of course, I trust you, mitr Karn." Duryodhan patted Karn's shoulder. He turned to Jaydrath, "But I don't trust you. What were you doing late night?"
"I know I saw them. I know it because I was troubling the maid to sleep with-" Jaydrath paused.
"How dare you! You are marrying my sister for the sake of the peace treaty. Had not I swear to not kill you, you would be dead by now!" Duryodhan grabbed his neck.
"Oh man! Such a disgusting personality he has!" Divyanshi whispered to Krishnn.
"Exactly! How will Dushala manage with him!" He whispered back.
"He sucks!" She whispered.
"The show had a better looking actor but him? He is awful!" Krishnn whispered.
"Wait! Which one?"
"The 2013 Mahabharat. I like the actor who played me."
"Yeah, Sourabh Jain is a fine actor."
"Mere bacche, is everything ok?" Shakuni walked in.
"It's not! He threatened Divyanshi moments ago and forced a maid to sleep with him last night." Duryodhan explained.
"That's unpunishable!" Shakuni exclaimed.
"Great! Now, execute him!" Divyanshi mumbled and Krishnn laughed. "I should leave. It would be awkward if so many people get missing from the event."
"Yes, you should leave." Duryodhan said, "I apologise for what he did."
"It's fine. You saved him from my punch, you better beat him with yours." Divyanshi said, "Angraj, Krishnn, let's go."
They all left the room and joined th party as though nothing had happened. Draupadi noticed the awkwardness between Karn and Divyanshi and approached her.
"What happened there?" She asked.
"You have no idea!" Divyanshi said.

Chapter 9 - Sindhraj
"Draupadi, don't get mad at me." Divyanshi said to Draupadi as soon as she reached Hastinapur.
"What does that mean?" Draupadi panicked.
"Dushala just hold her at a distance." Divyanshi said taking a few steps back.
Dushala did so without questioning, "What is happening?" Draupadi questioned.
"Don't hit me, ok? Don't get angry please." Divyanshi requested.
"How is that not going to make me panic?" Draupadi panicked.
"I-I kissed him." Divyanshi gabbed and immediately hid her head with a cushion.
"What?" Both the girls said. The only difference was that Dushala was happy but Draupadi was shocked.
"I didn't want to but it just happened!" Divyanshi tried to reason.
"How do you kiss someone unknowing?" Draupadi chased.
"Dushala hold her!" Divyanshi ran around the room, "She will kill me!"
"No, this is fun!" Dushala laughed at both of them.
"How are you so calm about this?" Draupadi asked Dushala panting after she was tired.
"I expected this from her. She is 'hella' wild!" Dushala hyped up Divyanshi.
"You are learning!" Divyanshi commented, "Cool!"
"And you aren't." Draupadi started, "You don't just kiss random people, Divyanshi."
"I have done worse." Divyanshi muttered to herself.
"This isn't funny. Does anyone else know?" Draupadi asked.
"I don't think so unless," Divyanshi wondered.
"Unless what?" Draupadi asked.
"I doubt that he didn't tell Duryodhan. He tells him everything and this... it's serious." Divyanshi said.
"Listen to me, if you don't want to marry him, I can help you escape. Don't worry about it, Govind and I will help you." Draupadi assured her.
"I don't care about any wedding." Divyanshi spoke, Dushala gave her a look, "Well, I do care about one wedding and it is Dushala's so let's talk about that."
"Whatever it is but do talk to Angraj once." Draupadi suggested.
"I will. Now, let's not ruin my babe's day. She's gonna get married." Divyanshi side hugged Dushala.
They spent the first half of the day preparing for Sindhraj's welcome. Sindhraj could be there any moment and Dushala was excited for it. Divyanshi teased Dushala for her wedding while Draupadi worried about Divyanshi and her future.
"When will he come?" Divyanshi asked Draupadi.
"Who? Who are you talking about?" Draupadi asked.
"There are only two people I talk about, one is Angraj and second is Krishnn. Angraj is here so definitely not him. Take a guess." Divyanshi said.
"He will be here soon." Draupadi said.
"But when will he come?" Dushala growled.
"Sindhraj? He should be here, where is he?" Divyanshi wondered. 'Hope he gets lost in the jungle.'
"Not a good thought, sakhi!" She heard a familiar voice.
She turned and saw Krishnn, "You are finally here! Quick, high five!" She brought her and up and he gave her a high five.
"What was that?" asked Draupadi.
"We cool people do that." Divyanshi replied and Draupadi rolled her eyes and smiled.
She greeted Krishnn and Dushala did the same.
"I know what you did." He whispered to Divyanshi.
"I panicked!" She shrugged.
"I never said it was wrong. In fact it was a good start." Krishnn said and smiled.
~~~~~~~~
"He is here! Sindhraj is here!" Dushala cheered and entered the room.
"Ooh! I will get to see that swine's face." Divyanshi mumbled.
The trio went outside to welcome him. Divyanshi couldn't help but struggle to hide her laughter looking how dramatic Dushala looked while blushing.
Dushashan appeared behind her, "I heard what you did."
"What did I do?" Divyanshi asked hiding her scared face. People were around her and she didn't want everyone to know about what happened in Angdesh.
"I didn't know you are good in archery. Karn was praising your skills and he also said that you are a great cook." He said.
"Oh! That! Yes, I am a great chef." Divyanshi fake laughed.
Jaydrath entered the palace and the moment she looked at him she wanted to puke. Maybe Draupadi wanted to too because she went running to the bathroom.
"Draupadi, you good?" Divyanshi asked running behind her.
"Draupadi came out of the bathroom, "I guess so."
"No, you don't look fine. Do you have fever?" Divyanshi checked her temparature and it was normal, "Not fever. Must be good poisioning but you don't eat much. Oh! That could be a reason."
"Let's not guess and ask a professional vaidya after the ceremony." Draupadi calmed Divyanshi.
"If you ain't fine how will I be!" Divyanshi said, "Girl, you gotta be healthy."
"That's so sweet but we should go now." Draupadi suggested.
"What happened? I saw you both come here hastily." Arjun asked entering the room.
"She's pregnant." Divyanshi said nonchalantly.
"What?" Arjun's reaction was priceless.
"No, she isn't. I am just kidding." Divyanshi laughed and left.
"She isn't sane, is she?" Arjun asked.
"She isn't most of the time but she's nice." Draupadi smiled.
Chapter 8 - Angdesh
"So, what are your hobbies other than archery?" asked Divyanshi. At some point, she was bored with watching reels and Karn wasn't the person to start a conversation.
"I don't know. I can do archery well and..." he thought, "I can ride a horse." he said.
"Yeah, you can ride a horse." she repeated nonchalantly. "How is your mother? Do you go meet her often?"
"You know about my mother?" Karn asked.
"Of course, she is an important part of your side of the story." she said.
"How?" the chariot's speed reduced as Karn gained curiosity.
"She-she gave birth to you, that's how." Divyanshi didn't lie to him, just hid the truth.
"Oh yes!" he recalled and smiled, "You know about me already but I don't know you much. How was your life like in that yug?"
"It was boring. I had to get up early and travel from one place to another then those lectures," she sighed and smiled, "I had good friends, we used to sit in the canteen and plan for trips but we never got to go to those places. Once we planned to visit Goa and we even had the money but my friend, Akhil got sick; well, we had to cancel."
"You like to travel, don't you?" he asked.
"Like? No, I love to travel. I am a sucker for exploring places and hell yeah! The food is to die for!" she rambled, "Have you ever tried 'Delhi ki chaat'? Of course, you haven't! I could kill a person to have those-" she glanced at him, pausing herself from speaking, "I didn't mean that in that way."
"You should observe Dushasan when we talk about food the next time. One time we went to war and just before the battle he ate so much that he slept. We won the war but he had no idea. He slept for three days straight, Gandharaj was afraid that he died." he laughed.
Divyanshi laughed too. She had never seen him laugh like this. He was happy and so was she. She noticed the glow on his face when he smiled, his smile was to die for. Time passed like a lightning streak and they reached Angdesh.
"The palace is so beautiful!" she said in awe.
"It is better on the inside." Karn said, he motioned her to walk with him as helpers took their stuff.
"Oh! I could just stay here for eternity." she said.
"Maybe you should." he muttered.
She heard him and smiled. "That's magnificent!" she looked at the throne.
"I never liked it." he commented.
"Why?" she asked.
"It is a burden for a person. One needs a partner for it." he explained.
"That's deep." she commented.
"What-what are your thoughts on marriage? I mean you will marry someone here because you can't go back to 'your' life." he asked.
"Marriages don't work out easily. It would be tough to find a person whom I can agree with." she wondered more on the topic she never cared to ever think about, "Maybe that's why I don't want to get married. Dating is good but marriage is a big no."
"What if you find that person someday?" he added.
"There is an 'if' in that. I do take risks." she said, "The last time I did, it didn't end well. He beat me, I beat him and that was toxic."
"I am sorry." he apologised, "I hate such people."
Divyanshi didn't say anything, she nodded. The fact he said he hated those people but roamed with Duryodhan made her think if she really liked him or if was it just a summer crush. They spent the day wandering in the markets and telling their childhood stories to each other. The night went well after dinner, they sat under the moonlight in the rose garden.
"We didn't have Petunia Black Velvet because those are flowers of death and highly inauspicious. Roses are good." Karn said sitting on a rock.
"Roses are nice, I like them too." she sat with him. He was red sitting right next to her, he was indeed happy and his face said so. As always, it was glowing. This caught Divyanshi's attention. "When you get happy your face glows." she stated, "I just noticed that."
"Everyone's face glows when they smile." Karn shook off the comment.
"No, I mean that your face literally glows. These kundals actually glow when you are happy." she explained. "I knew that they are with you since your birth but I had no idea that these glow."
Karn's smile dropped, "I never told you about these glowing nor anyone else." Divyanshi knew she messed up, "You know something important, don't you?"
"I know about the kundals because I am from the future, remember?" she tried to hide that she knew about his origin.
"Why are not telling anyone about what you know?" he inquired.
"Because if I tell you or anyone about it, something worse can happen." she tried to reason, she stood up, and went back to the palace.
"What is it? A war? Someone dies, right? Is it some old secret that will be revealed?" Karn followed her in the corridor and grabbed her wrist. He held it gently and brought her to stand in front of him against the wall. The more he spoke the more he brought his face to hers.
"I don't want to ruin anything. If someone is going to change those events it is going to be me so don't interfere with my plan. It's extremely necessary." she stated, her heart was pounding. The distance between their faces was not even an inch.
"Please answer me!" he spoke softly, "I don't want to get hurt hearing the truth from someone else."
Not knowing what to do and not wanting to answer, she unknowingly pecked him. Parting after realising what she had done was absolutely foolish she went to her room hastily while he stood staring into nothingness.
Chapter 7 - Obsessed
Divyanshi had a hard time sleeping because she wasn't used to sleep on extremely soft mattress. She was sharing room with Dushala, it was decided that after Dushala's wedding the room would be given to her.
"Morning, darling!" She said to Dushala in her morning voice.
"I don't get a word you say." Dushala stood in the balcony, "Come here!"
"Let me just lay here for a few minutes." Divyanshi whined.
"You will regret not seeing this!" Dushala grinned, "Your loss, I told you but you don't even-"
"Where?" Divyanshi sprinted to the balcony, "What? Where?"
"There! He is there!" Dushala pointed at Karn practising archery.
Divyanshi exhaled hard, "I don't want to see him. I thought you saw my love, my Taylor."
"Oh! As if you aren't obsessed with him!" Dushala mocked her.
"Me? Obsessed with him?" Divyanshi scoffed. She looked at him aiming at the dummy, his eyes were set on the dummy's head and in a blink the dummy fell on the ground with Karn's arrow in his head. "I guess."
"I knew it. I can't ever be wrong." Dushala smiled proudly.
"But don't tell anyone, please." Divyanshi realised that she confessed her feelings, "People aren't so chill about crush in this yug, you know. In mine they aren't too but here the matter is serious."
"The water is ready, Devi. You can bath." An helper said.
"Sure!" Divyanshi went to take a bath.
Dushala spent her time reading a book. As she was lying on her bed she heard a knock. "Yes?" She asked.
"May I?" She heard Draupadi's voice.
She turned back and saw her standing at the entrance of the room, "Of course!"
"Where is she?" Draupadi asked, "I thought she would be ready by now."
"She slept late and well, she woke up late so...you know," Dushala shrugged.
"Oh, yes I do!" Draupadi softly chuckled.
"Will you help me with the saree? I don't like this style much. I can barely move my legs." Divyanshi said walking out of the bathroom.
"That's because you did it wrongly." Draupadi scolded her, "You must learn to drape a saree. I won't always be around you."
"Don't say that, ok?" Divyanshi slightly raised her voice, "God forbid such thing to happen!"
"Ok! What was that for?" Dushala mumbled, she was staring awkwardly at both of them as Draupadi helped Divyanshi with the saree.
"You won't get it if I say it." Divyanshi said to herself.
"Done! You can now walk easily." Draupadi looked at her her work with pride.
"It looks good. I gotta learn that." Divyanshi complimented.
"Angraj is waiting for you." An helper appeared at the door.
"You are leaving today?" asked Draupadi.
"Even I didn't know that." Divyanshi laughed.
"He is outside." The helper said.
"Yes, I am coming." Divyanshi said.
"All the best!" Dushala teased.
"Oh god!" Divyanshi chuckled.
"Why? What happened?" Draupadi asked, confused.
"She'll tell you." Divyanshi pointed to Dushala and followed the the helper outside. "Hello," she greeted Karn when she saw him.
"I look beautiful." He said, "No, I mean you look beautiful." He realised he messed up.
"You shouldn't take talking lessons from Duryodhan." Divyanshi laughed at his silliness.
"How did you know?" He asked.
"My ex did the same. It happens all the time." She replied.
"So, shall we leave?" He asked again.
"I guess but I didn't know we will go today." She said.
"We have to return before Rajkumari Dushala's wedding and it would take us time travel from here to Angdesh and then from Angdesh to back here." He explained, "It's best we go today."
"Yeah, right." She said, "I'll grab my stuff." She went inside the room but came back, "Aren't you gonna come with me? I ain't lifting those heavy bags."
"Ah! Yes." Karn quietly followed her inside. He greeted Draupadi and Dushala with respect and watched as Divyanshi packed her stuff.
Dushala passed smiles to Divyanshi to which she blushed. Draupadi on the other hand wasn't much in the favour of this. She didn't like Divyanshi going alone with Karn for days. Draupadi was like a caring mother for Divyanshi, while Dushala was more of an annoying bestie whom Divyanshi loved.
"Done! We can leave now." Divyanshi handed Karn a few bags and picked them up with ease.
Draupadi's eyes widened as she wondered if Divyanshi would ever get married in this yug.
"I am going miss you both a lot." Divyanshi group hugged them and left.
Karn followed her outside. He literally beaming with happiness as he watched her walk ahead of him. His heart was calm and face had a gorgeous smile. His body glowing like the sun with the cheerfulness of them both going to Angdesh.
Chapter 6 - New Friend
"You must be Rajkumari Dushala, right?" Divyanshi asked looking at a girl not so much younger than her.
"Yes, you guessed it right. You must be the future girl?" Dushala was cheering, she finally had a friend to talk to.
"Am I famous now? The helpers asked me the same." Divyanshi laughed lightly.
"You are the talk of the town." Dushala said.
"I love attention." Divyanshi said. "So, tell me about yourself."
"You know about me already. I am a princess who is going to get married-"
"Married? What? When?" Divyanshi asked.
"In a week. You didn't know?" asked Dushala, Divyanshi shook her head. "It was planned that Bhratashree Duryodhan and I will marry the same day but Panchali is now married to some Brahmin. People say he is Rajkumar Arjun, what do you think?"
"Who knows? He can be." Divyanshi shrugged. "You getting married to Sindhraj, have you ever met him?"
"No, but I have heard he is strong." Dushala said.
"I wouldn't mind if he is rich. In my world, if you are rich you have the power." Divyanshi said.
"It's the same here. The cruel world never stopped being cruel, did it?" Dushal asked.
"Yes, it didn't. It didn't." Divyanshi replied.
"So, what did you do in your time?" Dushala gained interest in her.
"I was studying the nature of humans and I had a 'boyfriend' but the relationship wasn't going anywhere." Divyanshi told her.
"What's a 'boyfriend'? asked Karn, he was standing at the door. "Sorry, I forgot to knock."
"Oh, it means a boy who is more than a friend." Divyanshi explained.
"So a husband?" asked Dushala.
"No, more like a lover." Divyanshi cleared her doubt.
"Oh! So, you have experience." Dushala congratulated her.
"You're the only person who said that. The aunties back home didn't like him. He was an Arts student and well, so was I but they wanted me to marry and settle." Divyanshi laughed, "I was such a rebel, I didn't ever notice."
"Arts student?" asked Karn, his voice was low, something had happen which affected him.
"They aren't taken seriously and nor was I." Divyanshi explained.
"So, it's like caste system?" he asked further.
"Not exactly that but-well, you are right. People judge caste first and then by the stream." Divyanshi said, "Kaliyug is weird."
"I almost forgot." Karn said, "I asked you about Angdesh, we can leave in a day or two if you want."
"Oh! Nice." Divyanshi said.
"But will you be here for my wedding?" Dushala seemed sad.
"Of course!" Divyanshi side hugged her.
"Great! I'll ask the helpers to ready the chariots." Karn said and immediately left.
"Did something strange happen in Panchal? He is acting weird since he has returned." Dushala wondered.
"I don't know." Divyanshi hid her grin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Pandavs are here!" their arrival was announced and Divyanshi smiled widely.
"My Draupadi is here!" she cheered.
"Your?" Dushala chuckled.
"Yeah, she is my best friend." Divyanshi said.
"And am I not?" asked Dushala making a puppy face.
"There comes the emotional blackmail." Divyanshi sighed, "I should change."
Meeting Draupadi was extremely important, she knew what had happened and she knew how much Draupadi needed someone to vent.
"Draupadi!" She called out her name when she saw her, she sprinted to her and hugged her. "Oh! How much I missed you!"
"Divyanshi, I missed you too. You don't know what happened to me." Draupadi started.
Divyanshi she knew each and everything about what had happened but she wanted Draupadi vent because she knew how it felt to have no one to talk to about the things that hurt one.
"I am sorry, Draupadi." She hugged her again.
"Why are apologising? It's not your mistake." Draupadi returned the hug. "I heard from the maids the you and Angraj are going somewhere alone." She emphasised 'alone'.
"These people have a habit to exaggerate things." Divyanshi sighed, "I am going with him to visit Angdesh. He asked me out."
"Yes but alone with him?" Draupadi was concerned, "I mean he is friends with the Kauravs and you know how they are. God forbid but what he does something bad to you."
"Don't worry about me, darling." Divyanshi assured her, "I am friends with Krishnn. He'll protect and besides, I know how to handle men. Just a few hours before I came to this world, I had beaten up a man who misbehaved with me. You should've seen his face, it was red and had a mark of sandal for half an hour."
Draupadi laughed along with Divyanshi. They both happy with each other's company. Divyanshi was sad because she knew what was about to come when she remembered the events after the yagya in Indraprasth.

Chapter 5 - Hastinapur
"Oh! So, she is the girl Karn couldn't stop talking about." said Dushasan.
"What?" Divyanshi exclaimed, her words were heard by the people passing and everyone was looking at her. Karn was seen red with the embarrassment. "I mean what do you mean, sir?"
"Sir?" asked Shakuni, "What does that mean?"
"It's a word from English Language." she explained, "I can speak many languages, please don't be surprised if I blabber in some foreign language."
"Ok, sir." Shakuni said.
'No! That's not how it works, idiot.'
"You said Angraj couldn't stop talking about her. What all things were you talking about her, Angraj?" asked Krishnn.
"Just the good things and how she stood up for me." Karn replied.
"We know her name but where does she belong to?" Duryodhan inquired, "Where are you from?" he asked Divyanshi.
"She is from the future." Krishnn said.
"I wasn't supposed to die but I did so I came here. It's complicated but I am going to stick with him." Divyanshi added.
"Future? Interesting!" Shakuni schemed plans to eliminate the Pandavs and now he had help, "She can stay with us."
"Of course! That's a great idea." Krishnn smiled.
"It is?" Divyanshi asked, they looked at her weirdly, "It is! It is! Indeed!" 'I am so doomed!' she thought.
Karn was a bit happy with the news of her staying with them for a while. In fact, he was beaming with so much joy that it was clearly showing on his face. After bidding goodbyes to King Drupad and Amruta, Divyanshi left Panchal with the Kauravs. There were no women on the trip and hence, there were no palanquin so Divyanshi had to accompany Karn on his chariot; he was happy with her decision.
Getting bored she decided to view the pictures of the swayamvar. She noticed the furious face of Duryodhan in the background and Dushasan stuffing all the sweets in his mouth trying not to be caught. Her eyes were searching for Karn and she saw him staring at someone, he was smiling. Doing all her calculations, she knew he was looking at her. She smiled to herself knowing she managed charm a person.
Karn's eyes fell on her phone, "What is that yantr?" he asked curiously.
"It's a phone. It has information in it and I call anyone anytime." she answered, she smiled looking at his confused face, "I can also capture moments like paintings but if I want those painting can move."
"People are advanced in the future." he commented.
"Well, not exactly. Technology is developed but us humans," she sighed, "we are 'shit'."
"What's that?" he asked.
"It's a bad word." she casually replied.
"Then why are you saying it?" he asked.
"Because it helps me express my emotions." she answered, "Oh! And this device can also allow me to listen to music."
"Play a song then." he requested.
"I have to decide. Let me see!" she scrolled through Spotify, "We can't play Taylor Swift because you won't understand her. Arijit Singh is nice, yes, him." She scrolled through his discography.
"Who's Arijit Singh?" asked Karn.
"Him?" she smiled to herself and sighed, "He is the best person I could ever think of. I love him so much."
"Right." he faintly said.
She noticed him, "Well, he is a singer."
"We should rest." Dushasan suggested.
"No, we have to travel more." Duryodhan denied.
"But I want to rest." Divyanshi whined silently.
"Yes, she's right." Karn agreed with her, "We-we should rest."
"Fine!" Duryodhan said.
Tents were set and everyone entered the respective tents and rested for hours. Dinner was being served and everyone came out of their tents, Divyanshi spent time on her phone and sat for dinner still looking at it.
"What is that in your hands?" asked Shakuni.
"It's a phone. I waste my time on it." she answered.
"So, how is future like? Do they still have kings and queens?" asked Dushasan.
"Only a few countries have the monarchy system but fighting for the properties is still a thing. My own father 'happily' gave half of his land to my uncle." she sighed at the last sentence and ate her food.
"Well, I can't relate more." Duryodhan lightly chuckled.
"You smile too? In future you are portrayed more- seriously." she was about to spoil the future.
"They know about me? I must have done something great, right?" he asked.
"Yeah, great!" she awkwardly smiling remembering his deeds.
"What about me?" asked Shakuni.
"Whenever there is a talk about uncles, we remember you." she partially lied, she didn't specify in a good way or a bad way.
"And do they know about me?" Karn asked.
"Everyone loves you." she said.
"And me?" Dushasan asked.
"No, we don't remember you much." she replied.
"Like nothing? Not even a bit?" he asked hopelessly.
"No, not even a bit. I know you because I have read the books and seen the shows but those who haven't, I doubt they remember you." she realised she sounded rude so she tried to act normal, "But there is one event you are known for."
"Oh! What's that?" he asked again, this time hopefully.
"I can't spoil it to you." she shrugged.
"Yeah, all the popularity goes to her lover boy." Dushasan muttered and ate his food, more like stuffed his mouth with food.
Rest over and they were back on the chariot. She slept through half the journey. When she woke up she saw the chariot being stopped and loud noise coming from a distance. She opened her eyes and saw the beauty of Hastinapur. It was a heavenly place and gasped looking at it.
"Damn! It is giving heaven." she mumbled to herself.
"You should pay a visit to Angdesh too." Karn said.
"I would love too." she smiled.
Everyone welcomed them to Hastinapur and they went to the palace. Divyanshi walked slowly observing the shops and the people there. A child handed her a flower, it was her favourite, Petunia Black Velvet.
"You like it?" Karn asked.
"I love them." she replied with enthusiasm. "They are my favourite. They were always around me since my childhood."
Karn's eyebrows furrowed at the statement. They finally reached the palace and were greeted by Gandhari, who was another beautiful woman Divyanshi met since the day before.
"Oh! I have two daughters now." she smiled not noticing tears in Divyanshi's eyes, she hugged her.
Entering the palace, Divyanshi had a strange feeling in heart. "You know they feeling you feel when someone genuinely hugs you, I felt that. It was weird." she said to Karn.
"Yes, that's kinship." he said.
"Oh! So, that's how it feels." she was weirded out.
She left him standing in the hall of the palace. He was wondering what had happen to him. What was the strange feeling he felt? He smiled at her leaving, this time he knew who he was smiling for; not some girl who warned him about the swayamvar but the girl who stood up for him when no else did, not even his best friend.

Chapter 4 - Swayamvar
"Now what shall I do. He won't follow my advice for sure." Divyanshi dumped the cloak and walked in the corridor of the palace. She bumped into a huge person, "You blind motherfu-" she looked at the man. "Oh!" It was him.
"I am sorry." he said.
"Oh no! I apologise, Angraj. I was being stupid." she tried to hide the fact that she just swore at him. She hoped he didn't hear her. She tried to leave but was stopped.
"Wait!" he held her wrist, "Do you know who does this ring belong to?" he held out a ruby ring.
She was surprised to see her ring, it must've fallen when she was stalking him. 'Oh no! Save me, Lord! He'll know.' "I-"
"Sakhi!" she heard Krishnn's sweet voice, "Here you are! I was searching for you everywhere."
"I was just wandering here." she smiled. 'Thank you for saving me.'
He smiled and turned to Karn. "What happened, Angraj?" he asked.
"I just wanted to return this ring to its owner but I can't seem to find her, Vaasudev." Karn replied.
"I know who's ring this is." Krishnn said.
'He's going to lie! He's going to lie! He's going to lie!' She hoped.
"It's her ring. Am I right, Sakhi?" he said.
It was almost a dramatic scene. Karn's gaze were fixed at her, she was staring Krishnn and then there was him, who was innocently looking at Karn. "It belongs to you?" Karn almost smiled.
'Why is he smiling?' she wondered, "Yes, it does."
"Is there a problem?" asked Krishnn.
"She came to me in disguise and 'threatened' me to not participate on behalf of Duryodhan." Karn complaint.
"Ok, it was not a threat. I just gave you a suggestion." she defended.
"And why would you 'suggest' me?" he asked. Divyanshi was glaring at him for wrong accusations. An axe was needed to break the tension between them.
"Because she knows the future." Krishnn broke the tension.
"What?" Karn asked, "How is that possible?"
"Why can't it be possible?" Krishnn smiled, "I'll leave you two here." he left.
"So you were trying to protect me? From what?" Karn inquired.
"I can't tell you yet." Divyanshi answered, "I will explain you later."
"Later? When?" he asked again.
"You ask so many question? Just give me my ring back." she tried to get her ring back but he raised it high.
"I'll return it to you when the right time comes." he smirked.
"Not funny. Give it to me!" she stood on her tip toes.
"Not happening." he turned around and walked away.
"Pathetic!" she rolled her eyes.
"You are here! I found you." Draupadi called her, "Where were you?"
"I was just roaming here but I want to talk to you about something." Divyanshi said.
"You must wait, I am sorry. The swayamvar is about to start." Draupadi took her hand and Divyanshi had to follow her.
"It's important." Divyanshi protested but no luck.
They reached, "Sit beside me." Draupadi smiled.
"That's my seat." Dhrishtadyum rebelled.
"Can't you adjust for a few hours. You can sit here as much as you want after the swayamvar." Draupadi spoke.
"I will manage but at least listen to me." Divyanshi said.
"Oh! I am sorry I left you there. I was scarred." Amruta dragged her away from Draupadi.
"Amruta, babe, I need to talk to her." Divyanshi boiling with impatience but the announcement interrupted her.
The rules were explained. Kings and Princes participated to test their luck but failed miserably. Divyanshi had to sit down, she found an empty seat beside Krishnn and joined him. Watching the Kings and Princes failing was boring, she knew what was going to happen and wished if she could record everything. She spotted five Brahmins and immediately knew who they were. She glanced at Draupadi and she caught her looking at her. Divyanshi smiled playfully and signed at the Brahmins. Draupadi was red.
"I hope he follows my advice." she wished. She looked at the sad face of Duryodhan, who looked at Karn hopefully.
"Is there no archer who has the ability to fulfill this task?" asked King Drupad.
Everyone looked down, it was Duryodhan who was smirking; he clearly was upto something. He stood up but was cut by Dhrishtadyum, "Yuvraj Duryodhan, you have already participated. You cannot participate again."
"You can say 'failed miserably'." Divyanshi muttered and Krishnn hid his laughter.
Duryodhan blabbered about the competition being biased. He wanted the competition to be about wrestling, the duo couldn't stop snickering. "Angraj Karn will be participating on my behalf and win Draupadi for me."
Divyanshi's grin disappeared when she saw Karn actually getting up. "Is he stupid? I warned him."
"He is an 'introvert'. Give him time." Krishnn said.
"Yeah, I can fix him." she glanced at Karn walking to the bow while Dhrishtadyum complained about Karn participating on behalf of Duryodhan being rubbish. Duryodhan then asked Karn to win Draupadi for himself.
"You said the same thing about Akhil." Krishnn spoke.
"Rishit was a mistake. I didn't know he would betray me." she noticed Karn picking up the bow. "Why isn't Arjun participating? Why is he not standing there? He should be here."
"Have faith and wait." he smiled.
"Stop!" yelled Draupadi before the arrow could leave the bow.
"Oh please don't do that!" Divyanshi mumbled.
"What happened, Rajkumari?" asked Karn, he was confused.
"I will not marry you." Draupadi spoke confidently.
People gasped and whispering started. They wondered why did Draupadi say such thing and some assume the reason to be about Karn's caste.
"Father, you wanted me to marry Prince Arjun. I will only marry him." she said.
"But, Prince Arjun is dead." King Drupad said and Divyanshi grinned at the statement.
"What is going on?" Duryodhan yelled.
"I will not marry Angraj." Draupadi announced.
'Great start! Now don't insult him.' Divyanshi thought.
"Why is that?" Karn snapped.
"I don't wish to marry you and I don't need to give you a reason for my decision." Draupadi spoke.
"What is going on King Drupad? Does your daughter wish to stay unmarried for life?" Duryodhan was angry.
"I am not going to marry a sutputr." Draupadi spoke and Divyanshi face palmed.
'Girl, what the hell!' Divyanshi screamed internally. She exhaled hard, "You can do this. You can do this. You have spoken in front of people before, they were double the crowd here." Divyanshi mumbled to herself.
"Yes, you can do this." Krishnn supported.
"Draupadi, if I may interject," she started and Draupadi nodded. Karn looked at her curiously, she gathered all courage and gained a smile from Krishnn. "What you said was absolutely wrong."
"But-but I am your friend." Draupadi gasped.
"Yes, that's why I am correcting you. You shouldn't have judged him based on his background. Everyone present here knows how-" she glanced at Karn, who was hiding his smile, "-brilliant he is. In fact, he is one of the greatest archer of all time."
"Thank you. Thank you for standing up for me." Karn said.
She blushed, her whole was red. She nodded and sat down. "I messed up, didn't I?"
"No, you didn't. He's already looking at you." Krishnn said, "Look, he is still looking at you."
"No, I won't look. It will be obvious." she said.
"I am sorry, Angraj Karn but my daughter doesn't want to marry you." King Drupad said, "I will have to call of this event-"
"No, the swayamvar is meant to be conducted." Krishnn said.
"But how?" asked Drupad.
"If the Kshatriyas aren't able to fulfill the task, we can invite Brahmins." Krishnn suggested.
Drupad nodded and accepted. Everyone waited, Divyanshi was extremely excited to meet Arjun. Arjun stepped forward and walked to the bow. He picked the bow and aim at the fish's eye, he stared at it for a minute and the next moment the arrow had left the bow and hit the fish's eye.
"Go put the garland around you husband's neck."
Draupadi did so and everyone cheered except the Kauravs. Karn was somewhat happy looking at the person who stood up for up, he wondered if you personally meet her again to thank her again. He wondered if he should present her a gift. Divyanshi was extremely happy and secretly recorded everything with her phone.
"I am gonna miss you, Divyanshi." Draupadi said.
"It's good to hear that a gained special place in your heart in just a few hours." Divyanshi held her hands and smiled, she turned to Arjun who was in disguise. "You better take care of her and don't replace me, ok? She is my new friend and-you get it don't you?"
"Yes, I do." he said.
They left and Divyanshi's eyes were filled with tears. "Oh! Who is cutting onions?" she turned to Krishnn, wiping her tears, "So, what now?"
"We'll first meet the Kauravs and-" he smiled brightly and looked at her, "Angraj."
"You know he is not that special for me. He is not even my type." Divyanshi glanced at Karn, "He's not that bad though."
"As I was saying, we'll first meet them and go to Dwarka." Krishnn said.
"That's great! I can finally meet Rukhmini ji." she smiled.
"Here they come." he said and Shakuni greeted him.
"Pranipaat, Vaasudev. What the girl did was extremely brave. We all would love to know who she is." Shakuni asked.
Divyanshi hesitated, 'Why is he staring at my soul?'.
"She is Divyanshi." Krishnn introduced her.
"Oh! So she is the girl Karn couldn't stop talking about." Dushasan.
"What?" asked Divyanshi.

The Sun And The Moon
Chapter 3 - The Sun
Talking to people was already hard for Divyanshi, and now that she was in modern clothes, it was absolutely difficult to talk to anyone in the palace.
"Hi-I mean Pranipaat! I guess, that's how you say it." She said to a helper.
"Who might you be? I have never seen you here." She inquired.
"Of course, you haven't. I have come from-well, far somewhere-near- nevermind." Divyanshi struggled to make the girl understand, "Could you just help me with the clothes? I want to look like you guys."
"Sorry, but I don't know you." The girl said.
"I came here with Krishnn." Divyanshi explained.
"You came here with Govind?" She heardby another voice, she looked in the direction of the voice and her eyes went wide. Her mouth was open and she saw a gorgeous lady in awe. The lotus eyes were worth getting lost in and her skin as dark as the midnight. Divyanshi knew whom the Devi was.
"Panchali!" She looked at her with so much respect that it was visible.
"You don't have be so formal." Draupadi smiled, "You said you came her with Govind?"
"Yes, yes, I did." Divyanshi said.
Draupadi turned to the helper, "Make her feel at home." She turned to face Divyanshi again, "I just made a new friend. I would love to talk to you." She left with a smile.
She was surrounded the helpers who were helping her dress. It was somewhat overwhelming for her to be treated like an important person, it almost surprised her when she was addressed respectfully.
"Oh, not that heavy earring! I would prefer a lighter one." Divyanshi said.
"The heavy earrings look better." The helper said.
"But I don't want it." Divyanshi whined, "Can I not wear those payals? Those look expensive."
"It's expensive that's why you have to wear them." The helper picked up the anklet, "You can't just say no to every jewellery we present, Devi. We must do our duty."
"Ok, but not those. I want a pair of lighter anklets." Divyanshi pouted.
The helped sighed, "Let's not argue over the anklets." She showed her two necklaces, a gold necklace studded with rubies and a gold necklace with sapphire stones. "Which one?"
"Oh no! It's tough to choose." Divyanshi wondered which would suit her, "You tell me."
"The rubies would look good with the red saree." The helper suggested.
"Yes, you are right. It won't suffocate me. Divyanshi agreed.
Drishtadyumn entered the room, "Draupadi, the prince of Hastinapur has arrived with his friends. Will you come greet him with me?" He looked at Divyanshi, "Who might you be?"
"I came here with Govind." She answered.
The man hummed, "Where is my sister?" he asked.
"Right there." she pointed to the balcony.
"Thank you-um- your name?" He asked.
"Divyanshi." She replied. He nodded and went to Draupadi.
Her hair was done. She stood up, "Thank you, 'girlie'. You rock!"
"I don't get you." The helper said.
"What is your name?" Divyanshi asked.
"Amruta." She replied.
"Beautiful name. Well, I just made a new friend."
"Friend?"
"Yes, you are my friend." Divyanshi said, "Now, help me alter the history."
"What?" Amruta questioned.
"You won't get it. Just help me out." Divyanshi wanted to see the Kuru princes and Angraj. "Do you have a cloak? Well, we'll need two in this case."
"Yes but why?" Amruta had no idea about her plans.
"Great! Bring them to me. We need to save a man's honour."
~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't understand. What are we doing here?" Amruta asked for the thirteenth time.
"Arrey, you'll know." Divyanshi insisted and dragged her to the tent for the Kurus.
"Look someone is coming. I will lose my job if I do this." Amruta was scared to do anything with Divyanshi, that girl already had scared her.
"Look I lost my life, I am not scared." Divyanshi walked forward pulling Amrita's hand with her.
"Your life? You had a husband?" Amruta gained interest.
"Ew! No! I literally lost my life but that's not important. Everyone's a little dead inside, aren't they?" Divyanshi shrugged.
"No, they usually aren't." Amruta said.
"Guess, it's just me." Divyanshi clenched her jaw. She saw a man coming out of the tent. He was muscular and covered in a golden armour, he had gold earrings too. She immediately knew who the handsome man was. "That's Karn, right?"
"Yes, that's Angraj Karn. I have heard he is a sutpu-"
"Don't get me started, 'babe'." Divyanshi interrupted.
"What are these words that you use?" Amruta asked.
"Just some English words. 'Babe' is basically romantic but I use it for friends. There are some other words that I use when I get angry but don't repeat if you feel curious." Divyanshi explained.
"Why?" Amruta asked again.
"Those are horrible swear words." Divyanshi shrugged.
"You are weird." Amruta commented.
"He is handsome, isn't he? And 'hot' too." Divyanshi said, "What you say?" She turned to Amruta who was gone, she looked around and saw her running back to the palace. "First day, first betrayal."
"Don't look at me like that." She heard Angraj say, she wondered if he noticed her stalking him. "You are looking at me like I don't feed you." She sighed when she noticed him talking to his horse. "And yes, I noticed you too, lady."
"'Shit!' I am in trouble." Divyanshi sighed, "I wasn't stalking you, Angraj. I was just passing by."
"You are standing there since five minutes looking straight at me. Clearly, not stalking." He said.
She was speechless. What more could she do? She remembered why she was there. "Actually, I came here for a reason."
"What would that be?" He asked.
"I might sound rude but this is extremely important for you and for-many people." She started, he furrowed his eyebrows wondering what she meant, "Don't participate on behalf of your friend."
He didn't react, he looked at her not understanding why she said that, "That is not what I am going do. He is my friend. I will do anything he say."
'This man!' she screamed in her mind. "I was just here to give you a suggestion. It's upto you what to do after it." She began to leave.
"Wait! Who are you?" He asked and sprinted behind her.
"You'll know in a few hours." She said and left.
He stood there amazed. He completely ignored her words about the swayamvar. His eyes were only fixed on her as she left.
Duryodhan: *slides a ring on the table* I want you to shoot the owner in the leg.
Bheesm: But this ring belongs to you.
Duryodhan: Yes, I know. Karn wants me to try Zumba.
Karn: *looking at an old painting of the Kauravs* Aw! Look at baby Dushala twirling around in the sparkly saree.
Dushashan: *looks closely*
Dushashan: Um- That would be me.
The Sun and The Moon
Chapter 2 - Yug jump?
"Sir, please I beg you. Tell me where am I?" Divyanshi asked but the man smiled.
"Honestly, when I pay you people a visit you seem to not get it. You know me, Sakhi." the man smiled more, "I have been there with you since your birth."
"The only thing that has been with me since my birth is generational trauma and an unstable mind." her confusion grew more, "Am I dead? This is heaven, right? But I thought I'd end up in Hell."
"Why would you end up in Hell?" he asked.
"I-" she began to speak, "Stay here! I know it's a prank. I will prove you wrong." she ran in the opposite direction.
"I'll be here for you. I'll wait for your return." he said. He stood there waiting for her, she ran back to him and he laughed. "I knew you'd be back."
"Save me! Save me! Lord, save me!" she hid behind him as a Rakshash chased her.
"As you wish, sakhi." he hid her. The Rakshash stood in front of him, it exhaled sharply signing him to move. "No, I have to protect her." The Rakshash walked towards them.
"Do something!" she said.
"It won't do anything to you as long as I am with you." he said.
"What are you even saying? Are you God?" she panicked as the menacing creature hurried to attack them.
The man didn't answer but let out a chuckle. The Rakshash swung his axe to them, the man looked it in its eyes, "Don't." It was neither a threat nor a warning. It was more of a declaration. The man had simply asked it not to do something and the creature followed his command and left. "See, I told you."
She looked at him in confusion, "I am not dead, am I?" she asked again.
"You technically are from your world." he answered.
"No!" she denied.
"If aren't willing to listen to me, I won't talk to you." he folded his arms.
"I mean how can I die in one world and live in the other?" she asked.
"You can. You know there's a multiverse. Everyone lives several lives at different times but only I am omnipresent." he explained.
"Omnipresent?" she connected the dots and her eyes went wide. She knelt down, "I am sorry."
"Oh, you finally get it!" Krishnn said, "And get up. We have a lot to discuss."
She got up, she was speechless. "How-I-No wa-This can't-"
"I know I am different from how the shows have portrayed me. They really 'whitewashed' me." he said.
"Wait, you said 'whitewashed'?" he nodded at her statement, "That's an English word."
"'Reality check! I can speak English.' as well as other languages." he gave her an example.
"Woah! That's amazing." she commented, "Wait, you said I am dead in my world. How so?"
"You were run over by a car. You were supposed to survive that accident but in your world, you didn't and you had a long life to live-I mean 99 years is a long life for the Kaliyug people." he explained.
"I had a long life?" she let out a small chuckle at this statement. "Sorry, but how come I am here now? This is the Dwaparyug, not Kaliyug."
"About that, you'll spend the rest of your life here because if I transport you to this universe's Kaliyug, your life will collide with the other you and it will cause chaos." he spoke.
"That's-"
"Confusing, right?"
"No, that's awesome! I can prevent a few events!" She beamed with happiness.
"Yeah!" he lightly smiled as though he knew something.
"So, what will we do first?" she asked.
"Find you a place to live." he answered.
"Can't I live in Dwarka?" she pouted.
"You can visit me there." he said, "Follow me."
She followed him to his chariot, "We are going there?"
"No, we are going to Panchal." he held out his hand for her to step inside the chariot.
She hopped on it and continued to ask questions, "For Draupadi's swayamvar? Hell yes! Sorry-"
"It's fine." he laughed, "By the way, you dropped this when you ran away from me." he handed her her phone.
"My phone?" she looked at it, it was fully charged with an excellent. "How will this work here?"
"You won't always be surrounded by people here and unlike you, they sleep early." he said and she hid her red face.
After a few hours, they reached Panchal. People were staring at her for her clothing choice. She wondered how could trousers and a baggy shirt hurt someone, it covered her body more than a saree could.
"The people will join shortly. I'll just be here." Krishnn said.
"Are you going somewhere?" she asked.
"No, but you are. You must blend in with the people." he replied, "I don't want to explain to everyone how a girl time travelled back in time, even though it was more of a 'Yug jump'."
"How will I talk to people? They only know Sanskrit and all I speak is rough Hindi, God knows how many times I have spelled basic spellings wrong!" she worried.
"What are you talking about? You have been conversing with me in Sanskrit the whole time." he smiled and left.
She understood what he said, "How foolish can I be sometimes?"
