Laila shifted the straps of her backpack, gaze locked onto Felix. He didn't seem to notice her. Sprawled on her couch, T.V. remote dangling limply from his fingers, gaze glued to E!, he was completely content with ignoring her. She shifted again, louder this time, and even cleared her throat. No reaction. Laila had been standing in front of him for about five minutes, just returned from school, and he hadn't even batted an eyelash. Either Keeping Up with the Kardashians was far more interesting than her, or he just hadn't bothered to say hello yet. She wouldn't be surprised if it was either. "Uh, Felix?" At the sound of her voice did he finally snap to attention. Craning his neck, Felix mumbled a "hey" and made to return to his show. Laila rubbed at her temples. He obviously wasn't going to say any more until the commercial break, and maybe not even then. "I'm gonna go... Take a nap." What else could she do? He had been acting lethargic for the past few weeks, so this kind of behavior was all old news. It was true Felix had staked out on her only bed, but he looked too engrossed to be interrupted. Plus, the show was the only thing he had shown a speck of interest in, and she didn't want to take that from him. Who knew what Felix would do if she denied him his only joy? Everyone in a mile vicinity knew he had a temper. So Laila grabbed a pillow and a blanket, and retreated elsewhere to take her nap. The corner seemed kind of cozy...? The girl made her way over, fluffing up the pillow and curling up. What time was it? 2:57. Okay, she'd set an alarm for 4:30. And a few beeps later, once her wake up call was set, Laila was fast asleep. PHWEEEEEEEEEET! PHWEEEEEEEEEET! Laila jerked awake violently, smacking her head against the wall as an airhorn blew sharp and loud against her ear. "What the FU - " Slapping hands on her ears, she whirled to confront who had woken her. Felix stood above her, two airhorns in hand, a wide grin stretched across his lips and tinted sunglasses shading his eyes. "HAPPY 4:20 BLAZE IT, LAILA!" Oh God, this was not happening. She risked a glance at her watch. 4:20 pm, exactly. "Felix, I hate you." The girl muttered, rubbing her eyes. Felix merely burst out laughing, plopping himself by her makeshift bed to lean into her lap. "You humans have amazing customs. Why didn't I know of this? 4:20 am and pm sharp everyday we can celebrate the blazing with airhorns and marijuana-themed accessories." "Oh, god no." She glared at him, but a smile made its way onto her softening features. "Bet on it." Felix dared. "I would have worn some sick weed sunglasses I saw earlier, but the straight white boys were crowding around it and I was too scared to grab one for myself. Next time, though." Laila giggled. "Damn. I thought I could protect you from Snoop Dogg for a little longer. How'd you learn about it, anyway?" Almost as an afterthought, she ducked down to casually peck him on the lips as a sort of I-forgive-you-for-nearly-giving-me-a-heart-attack. The kiss stretched for a few seconds, until Felix broke away to answer mildly, "MTV? E! Network? I can't remember. It was great, though. Smoke weed everyday and the whole shebang." Laila tilted her gaze up to the ceiling, a grin dancing on her lips. "Good, then. I'm canceling cable." "WHAT!?"
