Please congratulate trans men who used to perform femeninity well but look completely different now. They have the right to look however they want. There's something freeing about looking like an average joe, and honeslty thinking someone was "prettier as a woman" just reveals your assumption that women have to be constantly performing femeninity to be valid. I still like looking glamorous, but I also like looking like just some guy.

I like being a little unkempt, and a little boring, especially for my own comfort. And honestly, this shouldn't be exclusive to men. Its why it took me so long to figure out I was trans. I didn't know whether I wanted to be a man or just exist as a person. And conversely its why I have a hard time transitioning, because when you grow up made to feel self conscious about your looks, it doesn't go away, and looking at the stream of insults of how "ugly" men are, as if it ties anything to their character, attaching along with it, intentional or not, an assumption that women just naturally look better because they're expected to be well kept constantly, its hard to really put it out of my mind to make that continuous decision to keep being who i want to be.

Its not as progressive to celebrate or judge transness based on looks as you think it is. You just subtly fall into traditional gender norms that way. Anyone of any gender looks like anything they want to or so happen to look like. Its our continuous duty to keep unlearning the old biases.
