the best part of the new jurassic park movie was when jonathan bailey's character unironically says that he wants to die in a shallow sea with silt on the bottom because he'll have the greatest chance at becoming fossilized. hell yeah autism boy live your dream.
I was gonna make a post asking if other people also think Chris does the "well mom said no, so I guess I'll ask dad now" thing with Buck and Eddie but then I realized wait no, that's already established canon. When Chris was mad at Eddie he went to Buck (as opposed to say, Pepa's or abuela's) and when Eddie said they were taking a break from technology he asked Buck if they could go to his apartment. Even their in sync "No!" when asked if both parents can be the good cop. Buck and the Diazes have so many meaningful moments that cement them as a little three person family but nothing gets to me like that face Eddie makes at Buck after Chris asks to go to his house to play video games because that is peak "we need to he united front on this" parenting face.
why bother caring about the environment when 1. It’s so obviously a lost cause and 2. There’s definitely going to be a nuclear war?
And what are you doing about it Anon? Learn about ecological restoration or get out of my way.
If you read ecology books printed in the 70s and 80s, they were absolutely convinced that whales and tigers would not survive the century. There's a whole plot in Star Trek about how whales are extinct actually. Here in Argentina, we were sure that yaguaretés would have gone extinct. It was thought that rainforests would be forever lost, because there was no way that such complex ecosystems would be restored.
Now, you can go to Península Valdés and find that the whale population there is growing year after year, people can see them from their windows. In Iberá, where yaguaretés were extinct for over 70 years, there's now a population of 35 and growing, after being reintroduced just five years ago. As for rainforests?
We've becoming very, very good on restoring them. Natural environments, when given space and time to heal, can return to that they were. And after all, all natural enviroments are managed by human societies. It is up to us to implement a good management, un buen gobierno.
I firmly believe our children and grandchildren will see a restoration of Earth like never before.
Millions of people are working on this. You can learn about it, perhaps even become one of them. Or be a pointless doomer in my ask box. Your choice.

there is something very silly about recovering whale carcasses, like yes call in everyone to help salvage this oversized aquatic mammal with our oversized electronic shovels bc the smaller aquatic mammals and fish didn't do a good job at nom nom-ing at it fast enough

I think one of my favorite ship dynamics is maniacal woman x loser who worships her but they both hold power in their own way
There is something so incredibly frustrating about blending in at all cost and trying to please everyone around you as a survival strategy in childhood.
Your natural response to every situation is avoidance and now you're overly careful and secretive, you rarely voice your opinion even on the smallest things, you move quietly and never stand in the way, and you are almost unnoticable.
That doesn't just go away once you're in a safe place so now you have to re-learn to be present in life and get comfortable with taking up space in the world, and it's all you want but the hardest thing to do because it goes against your every instinct.
You crave attention but can't stand being seen.
can we stop making jerks a "golden boy" just because they're attractive-
like yeah coriolanus was hot. yk what else he was from the very beginning? entitled. arrogant. shelfish. delightfully evil. victimizing himself constantly.
he is not a good person and he never was, and you know what? that's what makes him such a good character. he's entertaining and while the reader is not supposed to root for him, it's important his story was told as a cautionary tale.
i will never get over how every character was asked what gojo is to them. as in personal relationship. and the thing everyone emphasized was that he's the strongest. but when geto was asked DIRECTLY if gojo is strong, he chooses to emphasize that he was his best friend
I swear to god, if they don't make that overgrown smurf hot in the Ahsoka show I will do something
didn't decide what yet, but it will be something
oh no
I still can't get over stsg's introduction as a concept. gojo was built up to be isolatingly powerful, a league of his own: childish, annoying to all those close to him, hard to stand but respectable (aka nanami and utahime), a slippery guiding mentor, unruly and untamable, a whole force of his own and solely his own (the confidence, the disobedience to elders, the reputation, the fear and awe around him)---all introduced through yuuji's non-judgemental and curious lens. I think someone pointed ages ago out how- the closer someone is to gojo, the more tired they look inside. and that's why when they actually introduce the fact gojo had an actual, real friend- a best friend- you start to think, what? what kind of person would suit and match satoru gojo? who is this? who would make gojo feel equal? and it's somehow??? this obnoxiously moral guy?? filled with a kick of anger and buckets of tormented righteousness, and a witty (later turned bitter) benevolent streak. and you watch gojo watching him, always standing by him, watch him fit into place there like he couldn't see anything else. watch the in-sync laughter, the back-and-forth banter, watch them just be teenagers admist it - someway and somehow - same childish attitude, but younger, impressionable, and its like gojo's storing all his experiences with geto away in his mind. the discussions of who to protect-? gojo lives it out. the pain of geto's fall-? gojo carries it for the rest of his life, an aching open wound. it almost hurts that gojo's childish antics aren't complimented by geto's indulgent, light-hearted admonishing anymore. something you didn't realise was missing the whole time until now??? didn't realise "after all, I'm the strongest" used to be been "after all, we're the strongest". and in getting to know geto, you puzzle through how he was gojo's 'one and only': a guy who's personality comes off a bit controlling, a bit forceful, way too philosophical, clinically considerate- and somehow this really was gojo's best friend. they clashed over all their differences all their time together and yet even that was so important to them both, and you come to know it couldn't have been anyone else. this is who helped make gojo who he is. this is who was missing from him at the start.
Gojo vs Sukuna could be a heartbreaking battle where Gojo tries desperately to not do too much harm to his son's body while Sukuna goes all out bc he dgaf but knowing Gege it'll just be Gojo and Sukuna trying to outrizz each other
