Only good thing about Agatha All Along is this anti-wanda sentiment I feel from the main character. I too would spit in her make believe house.

I'm happy that Agatha All Along came out because, hopefully now, it fully illustrates just how unbearable and straight-up painful the hex was for those affected. Like since WV and even MOM, I've been so annoyed with people saying "The hex didn't impact the people of Westview" or "Let's be honest, their lives were much better," because it's so filled with obvious ignorance. But now, from Sharon begging Wanda to let her husband breathe, the people of Westview not even wanting to speak her name or what happened to them, it's experience being described as removing their autonomy and will--- like it's okay to admit that the hex was harmful. Like, now that Marvel isn't trying to sugarcoat it, the evidence is clear.

People keep defending Wanda for her actions by saying she's a mother who lost her children and that pain hits differently. Losing anyone is a horrible thing. But I wonder if Wanda Stans count how many Mothers, and children Wanda killed or permanently injured when she set the Hulk on a rampage in Johannesburg.

Poc fans will talk about how a particular yte character is always written to have tendencies of being antagonistic to their poc counterparts, and how that makes them [said poc fans] a little uncomfortable to see, and here come that yte character's stans with the "But their trauma/they went through some things," as an excuse to the actual valid points, or sometimes even turn it into a joke. Like just sit this conversation out then by this point.

Reading the books means finding out how many smallfolk characters screen writers have left out of their story for the sake of their gloryfied dynasties when the smallfolk is litterally the backbone of ASOIAF. Many characters suffer from this,manly Theon,Arya, Brienne,Jaime and Dany, that without the smallfolk and their connections can't be in characters. Yes I know they can't realistically include every single character from the books in live action, but the Dragonseed plot and Jeyne Poole are key plot lines, you can take out a few s*x scene and give me a 2 minute Sweet Pia cameo for exhample, or show me Nettles instead of fetishizing Alicent Hightower again and again. The lords are the privileged ones, but the smallfolk still have heart and lives too, I mean Martin wrote 3 novellas about it listen to the man please. At least Davos Seaworth was done well.

Since spiderman came out and people started reading frank stuff again, i noticed so many people using ai to write stuff.

And it is so obvious, it hurts.

I know people say you can’t really tell because ai feeds off of stories to make it sound real but honestly, you can still tell.

But just a reminder for y’all: don’t go commenting under people’s posts that it’s ai, just block them.

There’s no point in trying to convince someone that uses ai to make some random ass slop that clearly has no real storyline.

Stay creative and fuck ai :3

Im sliding back into the netflix defenders shows and i am DEVASTATED that there arent any good video essays about jessica jones season 1. That season is my FAVORITE marvel season and it dives so much into consent and control, trauma, etc with such a TERRIFYING VILLIAN. I just wanted to see someone else recognize the importance of jessica having literal super strength and still being victimized, the fact that even when he couldnt hurt her directly, he could hurt people she cares about. The purple mans weapon is words and connection to others that will defend him. Delving into the villian asking "can you blame him if no one ever told him it was wrong" (yes). Jessica having to deal with a guy who while initially wanting to help, spiralled into taking matters into his own hands rather than dealing with his own trauma. Jessica is self destructive, rude, and at times suicidal. Shes an alcoholic who can't bring herself to trust others because of all that happened but she cares SO MUCH. Shes super strong. Shes terrified. Shes smart. Shes doesnt blame anyone who was conteolled except herself.

And with jessica is her (sometimes annoying) sister who is dealing with her own trauma after growing up a child star who her mother pawned off to people and then got her hooked on drugs. And theres also the lesbian lawyer jessica works with that is so driven by her own greed and selfishness that it got her where she is at the beginning but almost consumes her at the end. And Hope, (aptly named) the catalyst starting off jessicas path to move forward and address her trauma by being an innocent pawn, bc if shes innocent and forgivable in jessicas eyes, the jessica deserves to forgive herself too.

This show and specifically s1 is so flushed with imperfect, fully realized female characters alongside male characters also grieving and traumatized in their own way and a villian that is truly so horrifying that i cant BELIEVE more people dont talk about it.

Its got a fun noir aesthetic, a snarky main character, and a Story to Tell.

Side note: theres only 4 gifs of jessica jones on tumblr and HALF of them are the villian??????? Im gonna riot
