Inspired by a video I saw recently of a guy that was talking about the japanese art kintsugi/kintsukuroi. At the end of the video he asked why this can't be the same for humans. The whole concept of kintsukuroi is that you use lacquer mixed with gold, silver or plantinum to repair broken pottery and both the breakage and repair can be seen as part of the history of the object, rather than something to disguise. By using this art the object is stronger and even more beautiful than it was before. Why can't we, with all our cracks and missing pieces, also become something that shines even brighter?
