Freedom from Fear of Food
I made the pancakes with the regular ingredients of pancakes, without skimming on the parts I used to label as ābadā; that includes egg yolks, whole milk and maple syrup. Only that added more beaten egg whites, this time not because it gives me protein but cos I want my pancakes fluffy. I always do. I would have used the butter too but I just donāt feel like eating it. See, I have learned to let me, not the external noices, be the master of my own wonderful body. I made a cup of hot milo with whole milk and drank it while eating my pancakes. I was craving for a side of fruits for my pancakes but there was none in the fridge today so greek yogurt with more maple syrup. It was all very satisfying and I am full. :) Iām experiencing the freedom to choose what my body needs/wants (whatever that is I donāt want to complicate things anymore) point is I can definitely say that those pancakes were nutritious and good for my body. And best was THEY ARE MY FAVORITE.
Activewear is everything.

It meant everything to me that you were there.
I love being married.
Weekend chill with the geek of my life/my main man whom I love.
I donāt mean to overspirtualize things but food has been the biggest, strongest addiction I have to overcome in my life. Like all things good in life, food is not necessarily a bad thing, but the uncontrollable overeating all the time, everyday, until Iām stuffed is. I am so convicted to live a spirit-empowered self-controlled life, even in this area, to nourish the body God has given to me and not abuse it, to put thought into nutrition (not just into calorie count), to eat not more than what my body actually needs (I was surprised at how little food it needs in comparison to what I think it does). It is going to be a continuous daily battle quite possibly until I die, possibly with relapses (hopefully I will desire to bounce back when I fail) but I would like to develop a continuous dependency on God with my eating habits. All this to say, here is a picture of my snack bag (of estimated 170kcal) for a very hectic day tomorrow. Stress has resulted in so much mindless junking in the past so gotta armour up before entering the battle field! Thank you Lord for providing āthe way of escape from temptation so that I may be able to endure itā. Help me please, when Iām so weak, to stay disciplined.
Lessons From Exercising
Today's workout made me aware of something very foundational to Christian faith. Although exercise has improved my self confidence and the way I see my body, it also highlights how awfully broken I am inside, that no amount of running makes me feel like I've burnt enough calories for the day, no amount of lifting makes me feel like I'm strong enough, no amount of time I spent in the gym makes me feel like I've done enough, no improvement I made makes me feel like I'm fit enough, and that there always seems to be someone better out there. There is an innate brokenness in me that can only be fixed by Jesus, not clean eating, nor maintaining healthy lifestyle, not hitting the gym 5 times a week. I need a Savior. Itās a sobering reminder to myself that we cannot do anything, even in the area of improving myself, outside of God. There is no reward nor fulfillment in doing things my way or on my own.Ā
May us women find our true security and confidence in Jesus alone.Ā
Yups.
