A little moment from my long fic, when Lyra and Harvey embark on those all important three dates, building things back to the way they were.
I was so very lucky to commission @saydada to draw this truly beautiful moment of my two, taking the time to get to know each other again. This moment is so soft and tender, capturing so much of that yearning we know I love, and my gosh if Harvey isn't just so handsome here. AND LYRA IS BEAUTIFUL!
But also, they have hearts in their eyes! I love it so much! Thank you for working with me!
My silly dorks, I miss you so so much and I'll get back to writing you again properly soon. Just two chapters of the long fic and three one-shots left until their story is complete. I love them both with my whole heart! Here's a little snippet from an early chapter.
The heavy wooden door with its rough texture, the recognisable creak, darkness giving way to golden light. Comforting smells of hops, deep red wine, freshly baked bread, the tang of tomatoes and garlic, smoke from the fireplace. Welcoming sights of gleaming brass, the rich red of the bar stools and secretive booths for hushed conversations between best friends and lovers. Familiar electric sounds of the video game machines in the back, soft clicks from the pool table, the juke box that played the songs we all knew, memories resurfacing, cementing the place as home.
As he walked toward our table, bringing drinks from the bar, I looked up, laughing quietly. ‘Isn't this a wonderful romantic gesture?! Having dinner in the place we met.’
He rolled his eyes, chuckling. ‘With endless choices in town, why not spoil ourselves?’
I took a deep breath and smiled as he slid into the seat next to me, looking over my shoulder at the menu, my body tense as he leaned in closer, unaccustomed to these small moments of contact we’d shared over the last few days. I turned to him, our faces just inches apart. ‘Searching for something new?’ I looked into his eyes.
‘No, got everything I want right here.’
