when you think your skin has miraculously improved in the space of a few hours, and then you go into different lighting and nope just as bad as usual
Things we’re gonna STOP doing to severe acne sufferers
I’m ALL FOR natural solutions to things but can we stop telling severe acne sufferers stupid suggestions that won’t work and you know nothing because you’ve never had a pimple in your life ?
DO NOT tell me I need to
- use _______ natural face mask
- drink more water !!!!!1!
- stop touching your face
- change your pillowcase
- drink celery juice
and DEFINITELY DON’T
- shame me for using a non-natural solution for acne that debilitates me on a regular basis from a self-esteem standpoint.
Trust me. I wish I could drink some fucking celery juice and these painful, red, long-lasting pimples would just go away. It doesn’t work that way for some people and if one more person tells me to change my pillowcase or makes some rude comment about “oh I would NEVER do Accutane after all the bad things I found on the internet…” I’m gonna scream
What not to say to friends with acne (written by a friend with acne)
1. Do not suggest acne products: it’s a kind gesture, but chances are we know. We’ve tried it. Our cabinets are overflowing with products that have failed us. My bathroom looks like a small chemistry lab.
2. Do not draw correlations between acne and our diet: I tried drinking 8 waterbottles a day, eating organic, cutting out sugar, filling up on a laundry list of fruits and vegetables. It’s not often the solution. A lot of us would have clear skin if it were that easy.
3. Do not talk about your so-called acne: As I’m sitting here drowning in my own face oil and covered in multiple pimples, I am incredibly envious of your one red dot that apparently, for you, constitutes ‘acne.’ Give me that acne plz.
4. Do not tell us “you can’t see our acne”: Yes you can. So can I. Your feigned blindness to it does more harm than it does good.
Please feel free to add to this…

Whoever Builds A Masjid…
There are some truly beautiful masaajid in the United States.
Here’s the Diyanet Center of America in Maryland looking sparkling
There’s this crisp & clean masjid in Hilliard, Ohio called Noor Islamic Cultural Center
The Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan is claimed as the oldest
Atlanta, Georgia’s Al-Farooq Mosque has stunning architecture
And here’s my communities masjid in Lincoln, Nebraska; The Islamic Foundation of Lincoln
It’s a house. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m (as all of my community) extremely appreciative for this masjid. It’s been my home for years. It serves a lot of people. It’s been our stepping stone.
But it’s time for a new masjid. I’m actually so jealous when I see Muslims post pictures of their masjid (mashAllah though). It amazes me when I see these pictures because we could never imagine such an amazing building. However, we’re working on it.
We purchased land in 2014 and we are working to build a new masjid.
We kinda desperately need one
Our masjid has
Black mold from leaking issues (Institute of Medicine (IOM) found there was sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with health risks)
Infrastructure issues
Not enough space for our growing population (especially with the influx of new refugees)
It’s essentially a ticking time bomb
We need help funding a masjid, so we can add ours to the list of gorgeous masjids in the USA (here’s a sketch of our plans). Our community donates as much as we can but with 75% of our population being refugee immigrants, it’s hard (alhumdulillah for everything).
Lastly,
It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that: The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Sahih Hadith)
Please consider donating & please share this post :)

Also, if your masjid would like envelopes for donation I CAN MAIL YOU SOME, pm me
THE MASJID IN LINCOLN HAS BEEN BUILT! However, the inside still needs to be finished.
We are asking for donations to complete the masjid for our growing community.
It will provide space for more educational opportunities and a safer worship area.
PLEASE DONATE AND SPREAD THE WORD

Hey so it’s already well into ramadan but I just want to say:
If you are an LGBT muslim, you are not a sin. Allah (swt) does not hate you and is full of love and kindness
You deserve to be happy this ramadan and you are absolutely a true muslim.
Ramadan Mubarak to all my great sisters, brothers and siblings of islam.
non-muslims can reblog this, I’m absolutely tired of feeling like a sin this ramadan even though I know it’s absolutely not true.
Ramadan Mubarak to all of you 😘🙌🙋💕

IS ANYBODY ELSE BEING EMOTIONALLY COMPROMISED BY BLACK-ISH?!?!?!??!??
This episode of blackish got me so stressed and bummed tf out.
I just got married on Saturday and was so excited to finally catch up on black-ish...and then they decide to f me up like this?! Extra rude.
tbh i think my nikkah will be the only situation where I’ll actually read and agree to the terms and conditions
Does anyone else find it disturbing that we have to literally dumb things down for white people?

Everyone: “HOW DARE YOU”

Okay now which one is clearer? 1?

call me ignorant but i genuinely don’t understand why sports have to be split up by gender.
@ everyone in the notes talking about physical performance: if that were the case, then sports would be divided by physical performance. that’s a thing you can measure. that’s a thing that varies by individual. a weak man and a strong man would be an unfair fight in boxing/wrestling/MMA, which is why they divide those sports up into weight groups based on physical performance. but they also further segregate them based on gender. chess is segregated by gender for no reason but sexism. if it’s actually about skill and physical ability, then measure those and separate people by those metrics. don’t do some bullshit gender segregation and pretend like men and women are inherently on different levels no matter their individual abilities.
Some of you may know that I am a daca recipient, as of tomorrow (1/27) my work permit expires. My job has me on a leave of absence until I get sent a new one; unfortunately no one knows when that’s will be. In the meantime i am broke, with no savings and bills that don’t care about circumstances. I really hate asking for help especially financially but it’s this or be left on the street. If anyone is willing to drop any amount to help me out I would be eternally grateful. My paypal is: paypal.me/ashleighakd and my cashapp is: Ashr451. Thank you for sharing and donating in advance.
My account is over drafted. If anyone wants to send even a dollar I would appreciate it.
Please help my sis.
