So, finally, I’m getting this out. And what better way to start the Bestiary than with the Imp? :D Moving on, I’m sure you’re all very familiar with the imp- but that won’t stop me!
Overview: So like I said previously, I am sure we are all very familiar with the Imp. For posterity’s sake, however, this entry is to be made. As we are made aware, this is the most common enemy in the Game. They are described as cannon fodder, which is slightly funny, and seem to be scared of their higher ups. (Which is understandable in my eyes, some of these assholes are terrifying) However, they are the only Underling that I have noticed can be pacified with food/shelter/soporifics/or safety in general. This is unique to them I guess? (Note: possible evidence of all Underlings pacify-able nature, may be unique)
Appearance: When prototyped their appearance is rather nebulous, so this section is actually for their template.
Height: They appear to be around the Beta kids height when they first entered the Game, so I’m estimating around 4″-something? Maybe around 3″10. (But who can really tell??)
“Constant” Features: Imps will always have more slanted and solid (maybe??) eyes, long and fanglike teeth, as well as having squat bodies and large heads. Also usually have claw-like hands. (Possibly feet as well, feet are not well defined)
Generalized Behavior: Imps are rather cowardly creatures, and seem to prefer preying on new players or those who were not supposed to enter/possibly also small animals. (Personal thoughts, it makes sense to me though) As previously stated- they appear to be scared of their higher ups and this behavior may be indicative of an inherent survival instinct that isn’t found in other Underlings. I say this because Imps appear to prefer fleeing over fighting, something I have not observed in other’s behavior. Imps are also very much pack oriented. Scouts so seem to exist, as displayed by the lone Imp first encountered in John’s room, but appear to be a rare risk. Imps also appear to be tamable, both John and Gamzee (possibly Tavros as well) display comfortably existing alongside this specific Breed of Underling
Difficulty Rating: Mate, these are literally the easiest enemies. What do you expect?
Grist Yield: Low Grist yield; a bit of generic build Grist, possibly their respective Grist type (ex. Shale, Marble, Chalk, etc.), and rarely will drop Vitality Gel.
Conclusion: I mean, honestly, this Breed is no threat. Any rung on the Echeladder could fuck these into the Void. Do what you want with them, that’s my advice
