"I didn’t know any of you knew how to leave the coven’s safe doors. Aren’t you a little far from home? Are you lost?" Ophelia mocked sarcastically.
"Maybe I just felt like taking a walk." Scarlet coolly spoke.

Late Night Visit
"Oh." Fiona quickly finished off the rest of her drink, feeling the floor seem to tilt under her feet as she did so. Her free hand found the back of the chair in front of the small desk against the wall, quite fortunately, preventing her from further embarrassment. She sank into it rather ungracefully, trying in vain to cover up just how off-balance she truly was. A glass of water right now might be a good idea, but all she did was laugh softly at Scarlet’s earnest offer. "Forgive me, my tolerance is usually… much better than this."
"No need to apologize." Scarlet said quietly, as it was pretty late. It was a wonder she hadn't been asleep, but new places can lead to an inability to sleep she supposed. "Would you... Is there anything I can do for you Fiona?" Scarlet moved towards the wall, slumping against it and facing Fiona, so as to give her space, but to be close enough to do anything if she needed to. She wasn't sure she would, but Fiona really looked a wreck and like she could use some sleep.
Humid Air
As she passed the small shops lining the street, Scarlet thumbed through the pages of the small book she had just purchased from the bookstore. She hadn’t gone to the store looking for anything in particular, just something to take her mind off things. This book wasn’t necessarily doing the trick, but the feel of paper between her fingers soothed her and the uneasy thoughts that plagued her mind. She still wasn’t comfortable here in New Orleans. The air was too thick, too arid and Scarlet missed the brisk wind that was probably breezing through Spokane at that moment. Of course, the air wasn’t the only thing off, but just one of the many things Scarlet knew she had to get used to. She’d always been rather quick to adjust, but sometimes it’s hard to take in so many new things at once. The books helped though. Lost in thought and the pages of her book, Scarlet forgot to pay attention to what was going on around her, that is until, she bummed into someone, dropping her book.
“I’m so sorry.” She muttered, reaching down to retrieve her fallen item.
Late Night Visit
"Never better," she muttered, squinting to study the girl further. She was still drawing a blank on her name… and then it came to her. "Scarlet!" Fiona said, as though she had just won a prize for getting it right, "Looks like you’ve got all… settled in." She took another drink, pushed herself away from the doorframe and stepped further into the room. "I’d offer you something to drink but I… think I cleaned us all out," she told her with a soft laugh, "Don’t tell on me, hmm?"
"... Well, didn't have much to unpack really. Just a bunch of books. Mostly blank." Scarlet murmured as she watched Fiona move. "Oh I... I don't drink much. But mum's the word." She spoke. The thought drifted through Scarlet's mind to try to help guide Fiona in, but she seemed too stubborn, and Scarlet didn't want to upset any balance. "Do you maybe want to lie down? Should I get you a glass of water?"
Late Night Visit
"Shit." Fiona had to laugh at herself, only because it took her about five seconds longer than it should have to realize this wasn’t her room. She leaned against the doorframe, letting her blurry vision blink in and out of focus as she absently swirled around the glass in her hand. She had met this girl the other day… and right now, Fiona couldn’t remember her name if her life depended on it. "Stay here long enough and all these rooms start to look the same," she said, a miserable attempt at making light of this situation. Somehow, though, the words came out of her mouth surprisingly less slurred than she thought… maybe she hadn’t completely lost her touch after all.
"Fiona... Are you alright?" Scarlet asked, hurriedly moving towards the woman. Words clear aside, Fiona looked like she was a bit of a mess. As Scarlet got closer, she saw the glass in Fiona's hand. Although it had only been once, she'd been drunk before and she recognized tell-tale signs of it. Of course, she wasn't sure how far gone Fiona was or why she seemed so inebriated.
Late Night Visit
Fiona gripped the banister on the stairs, knowing it was a damn miracle she had even made it to the top—and managed not to spill her drink. The glass was still in her hand, half-empty; she took another sip and tried to focus her bleary eyes in the dark. The hallway was the same as always, of course, nothing about it had changed, and it was simply a straight shot from there to her room. It was just that she was, well, wasted… and that made navigating even that short distance something of a challenge. One drink after a day or two of self-imposed sobriety had turned into two, then three, four… and after that, there was no point in counting anymore. Her hand found the wall, a steadying presence, and she was able to guide herself far enough to find a door—her own room, or so she presumed.
Scarlet heard some bustling outside the door of her room, but neglected to ignore it for the most part. She’d been at an interesting point in her book and wasn’t in the place where she wanted to pull herself away. Of course, this book was one she had purchased electronically, as it had so far been the only full-proof way to get through a story with all the text still being there. At least at the moment… Who knows when this won’t even work. Scarlet thought to herself. As she continued to read, she noticed that the sound grew louder and it sounded like it was getting closer to her door. Scarlet set her book aside and moved off of her pristine white bed towards the door. As she moved, the door opened, and someone began to stumble in.
Were you the one who drank it?
I didn't even know there was champagne, so I couldn't possibly be the one who drank it.
Do you even know how to have fun?
Well, I consider the things I do fun, so yes. I believe so.
Smoke, drink, party.
Ah. Gotcha.
Not really.
Well, what do you do for fun then?
I was expecting a little more fun.
Aren't those things fun?
Oh…ew.
Ew? What do you mean ew?
I can’t believe the champagne is over.
The champagne?
Depends on what you like.
Books. Art. Things like that.
Jasper meets Scarlet
"I don’t know… I just…" Jasper paused, "are you sure you didn’t say anything?"
Jasper was not adept to hearing things, normally he was the one that made the other people do the hearing.
Jasper slowly turned, careful to make sure she was clothed first.
Confusion welled up inside of Scarlet. "I... no. I didn't say anything." At least, she was sure she hadn't. She watched carefully as the boy turned, unsure of what to expect. She saw though a face that seemed close in age to hers. Scarlet didn't recognize him as someone she had passed by in the house though. Maybe he's as new as I am? She thought to herself. That or she just had yet to see him. It wasn't as though she had ventured around the house much.
She wondered what he thought he had heard.
