You are in the house of Elrond. And it is ten o'clock in the morning, on October the twenty-fourth, if you want to know.
Happy October the twenty-fourth!
Ian Miller, 1972
Obviously as a gay Lutheran I don’t agree with Mr. the pope on a lot of things but I think it’s wild when he’s like “be nice and don’t be fascist” and then conservative Catholics get mad at him. Like bro that’s your boss, basically your king, and he’s just telling you to be nice to people and don’t be a nazi. If thats offensive I think you might need to do some reflection.
Why do you as a Lutheran have disagreements with the pope?
*looks directly into the camera with the most tired expression you’ve ever seen*

this is going to be a controversial one but I think the optimal number of cats for facilitating making the bed is not, in fact, "every cat in the house" but perhaps even ... zero
dangerous misinformation
Tell me what you see.
A light in the darkness.
A bearded man.
A mushroom cloud.
A head on a pillow.
Everyone in the notes at me:
~ Popular Amusements, Rev. J.T. Crane, D.D., 1870
The Reverend Doctor Jonathan Townley Crane returns with more dire warnings about reading fiction. The fact that his son, Stephen, grew up to write the famous novel The Red Badge of Courage still makes me happy.
I got some anons too saying something or other about "uhh uhhh but you're a star trek blog you cant be anti c.ai!"
yes, I can. You are being Reginald Barclay rn, who no one liked, who was addicted to interacting with holo-people, who had ISSUES.
The first episode of Star Trek EVER, the Cage, follows the Talosians, a race of people who became so reliant on entertainment via the creation of illusion that they lost the ability to do ANYTHING for themselves in real life because the illusion was COMFORTING AND PREDICTABLE.
Don't play with me doodoohead I know more about star trek than you do
star trek is literally all about a world where technology frees people to pursue art, science, passion and joy. ai is about taking that away from people to save a company a few bucks
Can we talk about how much trust Starsky has in Hutch? Look at this moment from "The Fix" for example. Poor Hutch is going through horrific withdrawal and desperate for it to end. They work on the streets. They know the score. They know what kind of things situations like this can drive otherwise good people to do.
Still, Starsky doesn't flinch. A quick blink is the extent of his reaction. That's some next level, almost idiotic amounts of trust. This is the fourth episode of season one! They really drove home how special their bond was from the word go, and boy did it ever pay off!
Bonus gif because it's so sweet:
It's a good day for them. Happy Birthday @probably-enjoying-this! ♥

A curiosity for Sentinel fans - the actor who played the Iceman, back in the seventies.
