A Tiny Bit Of Post Reveal Supercorp Fluff/Flirting
I posted angst the other day so it’s only fair. Plus fluff is more fun to write!
Stars twinkled high above National City, peering down curiously at the two figures huddled on the roof of CatCo magazine. The chilly breeze slowly lifted and dropped leaves and petals of the flowers that surrounded the two women. Kara Danvers huddled closer to her best friend as she shivered, Lena letting out a soft sigh of content as she cuddled the warm reporter. Lena had never felt so safe, so happy, so comfortable. Up on the roof, out of sight, the plants the only witnesses to her blissful escape, she wished she’d never have to move.
Kara murmured something unintelligible and then yawned, her precious glasses sliding to the edge of her nose. Lena chuckled, and slid them slowly off Kara’s face, setting them beside her on the bench. “You don’t need those here, Supergirl, it’s just us.”
Half-asleep, the kryptonian smiled weakly in response, “Do you like me better without them?”
The ramblings of a girl who was nearly out of it. Lena felt a little heat creeping into her cheeks and did her best to ignore the fluttering nerves in her stomach. She didn’t respond, only pulled the blanket that was draped over the two of them up over Kara’s chest. Kara was grinning, “I asked you a question, silly. Do you think I’m sexier with or without my glasses?”
Well, now Lena couldn’t fight the violent blush that overtook her face in one fell swoop. Kara must just be joking around. Lena could play along.
“Suppose I don’t think you’re sexy at all?” The Luthor teased, raising an eyebrow as a silent challenge to her friend. Go on, keep flirting.
Perhaps caught a little off guard, Kara frowned. As the familiar crinkle appeared momentarily in Kara’s forehead, Lena felt a surge of pride. But it vanished quick enough.
“Well,” the kryptonian replied, “I think you’re very sexy. Especially when you do that thing with your eyebrow.”
Her embarrassment completely out of control, and her face considerably brighter than usual, Lena repeated the action, “Like this?”
"How many Aldebaran rum’s have you had, Kara?”
Lena glanced at the table where they’d been drinking when they first came up to roof with the rest of their friends. There were several empty bottles but the table was too far away to read the labels, and there had been quite a few of them drinking.
“Not too many, I promise, maybe just enough to give me a confidence boost.”
Kara didn’t sound half-asleep anymore. Sure, her sleepy eyes were still a little droopy and a tiny yawn escaped her lips, but she was staring into Lena’s eyes and talking clearly at least. God, she looked so adorable.
“So,” Kara continued, “sexier with or without the glasses?”
“Definitely with,” Lena replied, not even believing the words escaping her own mouth, but if Kara could joke around, so could she. “Supergirl is hot in a I-could-knock-you-out-right-now-but-I’d-rather-save-the-world kind of way, but Kara Danvers has that dorky kind of charm.”
“Interesting,” Kara abruptly yanked the blanket away from Lena and swung it over her shoulders like a cape.
“Hey!” Lena protested, “Give it back, it’s cold.”
“Mmhhhmm,” muttered Kara, tying the cape in place before snatching her glasses back off the bench, “You want the blanket back, huh?”
Kara climbed into Lena’s lap and slid her legs around the CEO’s waist, watching her already-pink face turn to red. She took her blanket-cape by the corners and leaned over her friend, wrapping it around them both so their faces were held in extremely close proximity, “How sexy am I now?”
She looked like a total goofball, but Lena couldn’t deny, she was into it. What was she doing? Kara was obviously flirting with her, and Lena had secretly wanted to kiss her best friend for quite some time, though she’d never imagined she’d actually get to. If there was ever going to be the right time, it was now. Lena gulped.
“So sexy,” she replied somewhat shakily, her heart beating so loudly she was sure the kryptonian could hear it, “so sexy, I want to do this…”
Lena wrapped her arms around Kara’s waist, pulling her closer. Then they were kissing. Lena could feel Kara smiling into the kiss as her hands ran through Lena’s hair. This was real, it was happening. Lena Luthor was kissing Kara Danvers.
Eventually, Kara pulled away, resting her forehead against Lena’s as she held her best friend tight, “Finally.”
