“Then it turned out that who we thought was my presumed dead brother, suspiciously returned from the world’s most elaborate sky-diving accident, wasn’t. And he was- do you know? Did you see it? Okay, spoiler- the one who pushed my presumed dead brother out the plane sans parachute. Yeah, I know. He’d had plastic surgery to look like him, obvi and was like, basically obsessed with my character. It was a whole thing,” Lola explained, tapping away at her phone (way too distressed to check any of her social media right now though). “Or you might be recognizing me from this one Tootsie Roll commercial I did as a tween.”
“God, who writes this?”Scarlett asked, a snicker escaping her. “I haven’t watched a single episode of, well, whatever you just described; it’s got to be the commercial, for sure. Did they force you to eat the candy? That’d be torture. Everybody knows Tootsie Rolls are the worst candy.”

“Food and a smoke session?” she raised a brow, unsure if the offer was genuine or another excuse for Scarlett to be the cover for Vienna. Either way, it couldn’t hurt. The girl knew the hotel like the back of her hand and had a few secret spots of her own. “Alright, follow me,” she said with a mouthful of pad thai. Scarlett got up from her seat and made her way to the elevators. “I have one rule though,” she glanced back at her sister. “You can’t tell anyone about where I’m taking you. Deal?”
Vienna nodded and quietly stood up, nonchalantly following Scarlett away from the lobby and toward the elevators. Keeping her voice low as they entered, she raised an eyebrow. “Deal…” She reluctantly nodded, before adding. “We’re not going to the creepy basement, right?”
She snickered at her sisters question, glancing back at her as she continued to walk. “Another rule, no more asking questions,” she said, pressing the button and waiting for the lift. Noting her sister’s growing concern, she decided some reassurance might be in order. “It’ll be fine. Don’t you trust me?” she knew the last question would be pushing it, it was more of a tease.

Despite the age difference between the two of them, Vienna was starting to see that Scarlett was a lot cooler than she gave her credit for. “Maybe you have a point..” Her eyes scanned the lobby for their father or another employee who would possibly wreck their plans and then she leaned toward Scar, keeping her voice low. “Are you down to smoke right now? Obviously not on the roof, but like you said.. we’re unlikely to get caught with you around.”

if one were attempting to seek out the male, you would be sure to find him roaming the corridors and hallways of the hotel. mostly, stood at the doors of the main entrance. tonight, however, he was making the most of his night off, perched atop one of the few vacant stools dotted alongside the bar. with calloused digits curled around his glass, dark orbs peered into its amber-coloured contents. propping an elbow against the wooden surface, ezra took a long sip, welcoming the familiar burn that trailed a path down his throat. it was nice, having a quiet drink to himself and seeking solace in the bottom of a glass was far from foreign to ezra and so far, so good. although, like all good things, they must come to and end and as a figure slid into the empty seat next to him, he fought the urge to roll his eyes. lowering his glass whilst holding onto it in a rather precarious manner, ezra cast a sideways glance toward the other. “ if you’ve come over here for idle chit-chat, i’m afraid you’re wasting your time, ” he stated, tone flat and laced with utter indifference. taking another sip of his whiskey, the male’s attention remained fixed upon surveying his immediate surroundings.
The brunette had found herself bored yet again being stuck inside the hotel. Her father had a rule about leaving the property late at night; although the reason for it was never addressed. The responses given probably would’ve been too vague to comprehend anyway. Still, she found herself seeking for any sort of mild entertainment. Alcohol always helps, was the thought she had as she trudged along to the bar. Taking a quick glance at her surroundings, Scarlett made her way to the first available seat she found, but was definitely not welcomed. “Don’t worry,” she snapped back, “I’m just here to do what everyone else is doing, drink.”

“is it really that good?” he asked, raising his eyebrows and leaning back in the seat. “does h actually know how to end those stories off? like, i love it but i finish reading it about three chapters from the end. before the kids have the orgy because that’s too weird.” he tilted his head at the mention of her private library, huh, how the other half lived. “i might take you up on that. i imagine you’ve also already finished your summer reading?”
“Dunno,” she teased with a sly smile and a shrug of her shoulder. “You’ll just have to read it and find out.” Scar made a face at the mention of ‘summer reading.’ “How old do you think I am?” she shook her head. “I’m in College, not in the sixth grade. There’s no time for summer reading; we’re too busy getting trashed and sparking up liberal conversations.”

“Stephen King is a legend, I can’t blame you,” her interest towards books turned genuine. “The Shining was one of the first real books I read, it left an impression. Maybe that’s why my favorite genere is horror.” she shut her book, putting all her attention on him. “I didn’t really care for the movie though.”
“he is the master of horror, though i’m ashamed to say i’ve never read the dark tower series, and i know, it’s regarded as some of his best work.” noah shrugged, then took the spot next to her anyway, despite her earlier saying it was taken. “i think the problem with the movie is that jack nicholson kind of came off crazy straight away, it wasn’t the slow descent into madness the way it is in the book. some of the miniseries they’ve done of it have been ok.”
“Oh, you’ve got to get on that ASAP,” she declared, not bothering to argue with him once he sat down. “I could lend you the books if you want, I’ve got my own little private library. I only keep masterpieces in it,” she nodded in agreement with his statements. “I haven’t watched much, but I’m sure I could get around to it. It is summer anyway, classes for fall semester don’t start for a couple more weeks.” she shrugged. “Honestly, I usually spend most of my days wandering around this place.”

Theo smirked and set her book down, “Psychologist.” She cleared her throat and completely changed the tone of her voice now sounding suddenly sweet and nurturing. “Now enough about me, let’s discuss your upbringing. What is it that you do?”
Scarlett tried to hold in a scoff, but failed miserably. “You’re joking, right?” she asked, a wry laugh escaping her. “Why the sudden interest? I doubt you really want to hear about my boring life.”

“I was caught getting high on the roof again and I know Dad is gonna throw a fucking fit when he finds out. So. I just plan on denying everything.” She explained, carefully handing the food over to Scarlett. “Basically I just need you to say I was with you all day. Can you do that for me, Scar?
Scar’s initial reaction was to let out a loud groan, but she looked over at the food again and caved. “Don’t get used to this,” she said matter-of-factually as she grabbed the container from her sister. “I’m only giving in because I haven’t had any lunch yet. Also,” she began, snatching away the chopstick’s from V’s grasp, “thanks for the invite. Getting high by yourself is so boring, you should’ve had me along. Besides, you probably wouldn’t have gotten caught if I were around.”

She nodded in agreement with his statement. “That’s fair, but I’m more curious about your type,” she grinned. “What are some of your favorites?”
“my type?” noah grinned back, raising an eyebrow at her. “hmm, too cliched to say tall dark and handsome?” he shook his head, still smiling. “this is going to sound oh so basic, but i’ve been re-reading stephen king lately. even though the man doesn’t know how to end a fuckin’ book to save his life.”

kit pushes at his hair, he needs to cut it soon or find a scarf to tie it up at the very least. he’s got a notebook in his hand and searching for a pencil as he sits down beside someone in the lobby, flipping it open to a blank page. he doesn’t hear her at first – doesn’t hear her until the last word really. “oh,” it rushes out of his mouth as he stands quickly, tripping on his own feet. he just manages to stop himself from actually falling. “sorry –” a hand moves to his chest, a movement meaning the same word.
It was hard not to feel bad for the poor guy, it was an awkward sight to see. With a shake of her head, she let out a giggle. “You alright there?”

She was young and pretty the first thing that came to her mind was actress, she’s seen a handful of entitled actors in the lobby before each one thinking they were special. Luckily Theo was here to remind them that they weren’t. “What, are you in a commercial or something?”
“Or something,” Scarlett replied, happy to keep her identity a mystery. “Dare I ask what you do?”

At the mention of food, V grasped her interest. She looked over and raised a brow at her. “What’s the catch?” she asked, knowing her sister far too well.
“For what it’s worth, it’s a tiny catch.” She opened the container, hoping to tempt her sister with how delicious the Pad Thai looked and smelled. “I need you to cover for me.”
Her eyes widened at the beautiful sight of pad thai, but she tried to play it cool. “Cover you for what exactly?” she met her sister’s gaze. “What are you up to this time, V?”

Scarlett looked the man up and down, a small smile appearing on her face. It was hard not to, the man was sculpted like a god and Scar enjoyed the fact he was giving little ol her any attention. “It’s a classic,” she nodded, “but I’m almost done. Got any good recommendations?”
noah regarded the question thoughtfully, tilting his head and clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “see, now, that’s a loaded question, ms hawthorne, because it really depends on what kind of mood you’re in. what kind of genre you’re feeling at the moment.”
She nodded in agreement with his statement. “That’s fair, but I’m more curious about your type,” she grinned. “What are some of your favorites?”

Theo smiled warmly and mimicked her movements, also making herself comfortable. “Well, it looks like everything is as it should be then.” Theo cleared her throat and began to flip the pages of her book, each turn making a distinct annoying sound. Theo laughed loudly pretending to be completely invested in her book when she was really only interested in annoying the lady beside her.
Scarlett was clearly aware of what the woman was up to, but she found it quite amusing more than anything. “You don’t know who I am, so you?” she chuckled slightly. “Honestly, it’s slightly refreshing.”

noah was coming back from grabbing a coffee from he and peyton’s favourite coffee shop down the road — they could have had a coffee from here in the hotel, but it just wasn’t the same. he’d just stepped into the lobby when he saw her, hard to miss, it was always good to know who the real power at the hotel was ( even if she was the younger of the two sisters ). “is it now?” he drawled, though, never the less, he stood. “good book?”

But if you’re too busy for me...” She playfully pulled it back as if she was gonna take it away.
