Paul imprints on the new girl in the Rez, and she is very shy. Paul makes some bold moves, but she's such an inexperienced girl and doesn't understand what he wants from her. When he explains things to her, at first she finds it weird and doesn't believe that Paul would like her if it weren't for the imprinting, so everyday he tries to show her that she's really the one for him.
Such a cute ask thank you!! Hope you enjoy âșïžđ©·đ©·
This might not be perfect to the request but pretty much my idea of how it would go. Ima shy girl đ if I met Paul Lahore I would stumble over every word!
Wallflower~ Paul x shy new girl/imprint
The news of a new girl moving in to La Push spread like a wildfire. First off- no one usually moves here unless they are natives or family. She was apparently neither. Secondly, she is alone and young with a car tag that reads Oregon. Paul usually stayed out of gossip, but he couldnât help wondering who would willingly move to La Push like she did. He didnât really have to wonder long, as she needed her car fixed at the auto shop he owned with Jacob.
âCan I help you miss?â Paul rattled off the normal greeting without much thought as he met her eyes slowly. He wasnât paying attention, more concerned with all the car tune ups orders with everyone getting ready for the winter season . You learn to be prepared for any weather here.
As he met your eyes his interest shifted. She was beautiful. Pale skin, natural red hair with a splatter of freckles across her cheeks and nose. Short and curvy with a sweet aura around her that sucked him in instantly. He was privileged to see into their life together. It wasâŠnot what he expected. It was better. Not an instant love, but something that blossomed through trust and time together.
Not expecting Paulâs intense stare down, you automatically close off yourself through your body language. Crossing your arms while taking a few steps back and looking away. He tried not to terrify you by towering over. He tried to smile but didnât think it came across very well. He just wanted you.
âI..I need help the lights are on for the engine check?â Paul snapped back into mechanic mode as he sat down at the front desk to be less intimidating. Not the most professional, but he wanted her to feel comfortable. âTake a seat and letâs see what I can do for you. Make and model of the car, with the year?â He tried to follow his normal routine but it was hard not to say something stupid like how beautiful his imprint was. His imprint. He smiled to himself like an idiot but quickly tried to compose his face again. He knew he had to tell her but needed a plan. His heart pounded to the thought she might never accept him.
You answered him in shy clipped words as if you were trying to shut up as quick as possible. No matter how many times he looked your way, you wouldnât meet his eyes again. Maybe you felt something too or maybe you were taken already. Or plain not interested. Either way, he was in for a challenge, and desperate for a chance.
After getting your car pulled up in the system, Paul asked you to lead him to it in the lot. He tried making small talk about the winter and tires but felt stupid. You nodded along not really listening. Instead you were trying to just breathe. The most attractive man you have ever seen basically fell into your lap and you are smitten. Your heart thumps crazily as you watch him speak. He was so nervous himself that he couldnât tell if that was your heart or his. You found yourself wishing those lips could kiss you and be kissed every night. Wait, he could have a girlfriend or wife you thought to yourself. You are acting stupid you felt and you spend these moments tying to get yourself together. As Paul plugs in the little device to read the engine error code, he realizes he never asked your name.
âIâm so rude. Iâm Paulâ he holds his hand out to shake. You answer mumbling your name as he smiles and said how nice it was to meet you. He meant it. You twitch your lips into a small smile back, wishing you had the courage to really smile back, but then again you didnât have a chance you never did. He tries to ask about you moving here and where you are from. Small talk with a purpose of soaking in every piece of information he can. You held on to his every word and let the twinkle in his eyes warm you for the little while you got to enjoy it. You knew he wouldnât ever be interested. You werenât in his league.
The good news is your car needed some work. It wasnât safe to drive for more than around La Push and would unfortunately have to be fixed in several trips. Paul offered to do the work for free just paying parts after hours hoping you would stick around to hang out or at least he would see you. You didnât have a way to leave town now, so you kept coming back. You spent several nights and eventually the next few weeks watching parts arrive and Paul work on your car. It cost less to fix it then buy a new one with the major discount on labor you received. He was amazing company full of laughter and shared interest. You didnât want it to end but you knew he was just being nice.
As the work came to an end, Paul couldnât let you leave the garage without a promise he would get to see you again. You quickly think of the last couple of weeks in the garage talking to him. He brought you out of your shell for the most part, although you quickly slide back inside when a pack member (unbeknownst to you yet of the pack) or customer came by. Anytime you thought you felt a connection, the doubt quickly arose behind it. Paul didnât mind when you got shy as he was happy to have that inside connection with you. He really was throwing out hints about possibly getting to know you and was hoping you were picking up on them. Paul wanted to ask you out, but you were not picking up the hints since you were kinda innocent from not a lot of experience in this department and didnât have the confidence to believe it anyways. He was already different and special to you. Not to mention the abs on this man when he was sweating under the car fixing something. Yeah he was soooo out of your league. You enjoyed it while it lasted dreading the day it was over.
âWould you..go on a date with me?â Paul was hopeful as he locked the garage doors to make sure you left the business property ok. He would have to tell you about the imprint sometime. Now wasnât it. He couldnât wait to hopefully have that close relationship with you.
âMe?â Paul laughed, âof course you. Youâre the only person I want to see everyday. Iâm not much into a lot of talking so it means something to me if I actually want you around.â His voice quieted at the last part hoping she heard it but also embarrassed if she laughed at him. He could see the disbelief still on her face as if she was waiting for the âgotchaâ moment. He didnât like that.
Paul leaned in to grab your face softly cupping your chin in his hand. âI would like to go on a date with you. I canât imagine not seeing you like this again just because the car is fixed. Would that be ok?â
Paul watched as your face twisted from hope to confusion and possible doubt to his intentions.
âWhy me?â You asked, as if those words didnât kill Paul because he already saw his favorite person in the whole world in you.
âBecause youâre the only person Iâve met in my life that I thought I could enjoy life with. Just by meeting you. Thatâs why. Iâve really enjoyed the last several weeks we spent fixing the car and talking. At least maybe a walk on the beach or your number?â Paul stepped closer as he whispered the last sentence hoping she didnât turn him down. The fear and anxiety of not being enough was all over her face, he couldnât take it. Before he could ask and beg please, you agreed to a walk tonight. So you two crossed the path through the woods that took less than 10 minutes to find the beach. Usually.
Something good and something bad happened. Bad would be you saw first hand what a vampire was and about the pack of wolves in La Push. The good news would be that Paul now had a way to tell you he imprinted. Well in his head it could also be bad news if you rejected him after it was all said and done. At least he had a way to start talking now.
As you were walking through the woods down the foot beaten path, Paul was laughing softly with you and talking about why you moved here. Suddenly the wind shifted. He didnât realize but he was literally in the middle of a vampire chase that lead straight to you. What wouldâve naturally been an unlucky meeting for anyone else, Paul was almost crazy already at the knowledge you were the only human with blood sweet enough to want in this equation. It was enough to a vampire who was parched and searching for someone to kill for a meal. The leech didnât realize what territory he crossed over, nor did the pack surprise him too much. He wasnât naive to believe vampires were the only supernatural around. Either way Paulâs imprint was just the thing the leech was looking for. Paul knew it too by the stench of hunger and desperation coming from the vamp.
It was close. Like a foot or two difference. If Paul wouldnât have pulled you back into his chest and turned, the vampire wouldâve shredded your throat instead of his back. He fell instantly as you screamed watching him fall. The wolves quickly took down the vampire killing him as you watched aghast by what the heck you waked into.
You dropped to your knees as Paul groaned in pain. Tears hit you first as you tried to process what happened. Suddenly shirtless men came running. The wolves left then men came.. oh my gosh! They were wolves? That was the thought that froze you.
Sam stepped in and took inventory of the situation. The height difference was crucial to missing Paulâs organs, but he had to be rushed back to Emilyâs for stitches and cleaning. You were rushed back as well due to the shock your body went into. You were walking and following instructions but unresponsive to any attempts at communication. Sue and Emily would need to have a conversation about all this and answer questions. Sam didnât know much about you and that worries him.
Sam took charge. Embry ran back to the shop to grab Paulâs car to load you both in to. Quil and Seth disposed of the vampire. Jacob tried to talk to you since you both knew each other from the shop. It worked enough to get you to follow the rest of the pack who was lifting Paul to carry him to the car. Paul must be a wolf too? Why wasnât he screaming in pain? Why werenât we calling an ambulance?? Who were these people? The thoughts rushed and swirled around your head. This couldnât be real. You had to be in another nightmare. No, this was real. You felt it when Paul was struck by the vampire and you still feel it some now like it was you. On the outside, you were unresponsive, but on the inside you were a hurricane of emotion.
Jacob brought you into Emilyâs home as Paul was unloaded. Sue arrived as Emily softly pushed you into the sofa. You were barely blinking. Leah came and sat by you. You were so sweet and shy that even Leah felt awful about this. Everyone was worried, especially Paul. He wouldnât let Sue touch him until he could lay and still see you.
While his wound was cleaned and stitches, Emily joined Leah in trying to talk to you. The tea in front of you went cold. Inside you didnât understand why you werenât at the hospital right now. Sue had met you before but this time her being here meant pain. You were admittedly scared you were losing Paul. You also admittedly really had feelings for him that you just now discovered were more than a crush. Something that only made sense when you felt the pain he did. The imprint had been pulling you all along but you didnât feel like it was true.
During your long thought train, Paul had already been sewn and cleaned up. A lot of the damage was healed and the stitches would be out in under 24 hours. Possibly even 12 hours. Paul was a very quick healer, which was good since he also was a hot head when it came to the fight with a leech and often got hurt.
The next thing you knew he had his hands wrapped around yours calling your name to come back to him. It was a pretty dream. Oh gosh he must be dead then. Or youâve finally lost it was the last thought you remembered before you snapped out of it and saw him kneeling in front of you in Emilyâs living room.
âBaby, Y/N, please talk to me. Say something anything. Youâre scaring me.â Paul looked more worried about you than he ever felt about himself or his own injuries. You met his eyes and instantly hugged him. âI thought you were dead. I felt it when that thing hurt you. It was like it happened to me. Paul what is happening?!â
Breathing a sigh of relief that you didnât run screaming, he held your hands again and asked if he could explain. You nodded always eager to figure things out. Paul was nervous and jumbled everything up so Sam and Emily often stepped in, with the back up from Sue as a form of proof. Upon conclusion you actually did not go into shock this time. You werenât scared because itâs like you already saw the worst of it. It felt like you were sitting in a room with family that you had known all your life. Paul felt like the one and that scared you like you were clingy and crazy. Before you could let those thoughts eat at you, Paul said he needed to tell you one more thing.
As he explained imprinting things started connecting. The feeling of home, the way you felt like your heart broke every time you left the garage. Your dreams about wolves and how they always ended in you and Paul. You realized thatâs all that you wanted.
âPaul stop. I donât know why but I feel it. I believe you. I just never wanna feel that pain of you getting hurt again but I accept that might not be possible. I just donât wanna lose you either even if I have zero idea why you chose me.â You whisper all this back to him as his forehead is pressed now into yours, him only leaning away to kiss you there instead.
âI didnât choose you, the universe did. When I imprinted on you I saw you feeling shy, sad, upset, and every feeling of inadequacy in between. Itâs not true Y/N. Youâre it for me.â As Paul spoke your face shifted and he worried. âWhat is it?â
You sighed and brought yourself to speak, âisnât it weird you donât know me but are willing to settle for me? Thatâs what youâre doing Paul, youâre settling.â At this point the room had cleared with Sue, Emily, and Sam having a conversation over coffee and cake in the kitchen. You looked around and then continued, âPaul you only wanna settle because the imprint or whatever said too. You wouldâve never looked twice at me-â you were cut off by Paul, âdonât you dare say that. I looked twice when I met you. Wanting to marry you that instant because you were literally an angel. I know you were that inside. Sure the imprint was immediate but I wouldâve chose you. Even the shy girl who doesnât believe that. Let me show you. Baby please give me a chance?â
You shivered at his pet name for you. He was the first real guy to show interest and well you didnât know what to do. He could tell and tried to make it easier. âLet me take you on a date? Or even have a movie night here together. Iâll answer all your questions until you feel comfortable and even then Iâll always answer a million more. Sure I imprinted on you, but I chose you everyday. I have a confession. I uhm..well I drug out the car fix for a few extra days or soâŠâ Paul smiled sheepishly.
You laughed big, âhow many?â Paul then laughed and answered âwell like I couldâve been done in three days tops not like four weeks.â
You were stunned but the shiver still ran over you with the realization this boy had it bad for you.
âI suppose I wouldnât mind seeing you all the time either Paul. Just Iâd rather not see you sliced open ever again if I could choose. I wanna be there to patch it up though.â At the last sentence he knew what you meant as you turned serious. He looked into your eyes hard and long as if he was searching your soul.
âI wanna be there to see all those beautiful promises of our life come true. All the things imprinting on you showed me. Thank you for letting me prove it everyday.â
