Wait, did I even say that it was going to be a novel before just now...?
Almost got the rough draft done! (Art by @sinxsthezia and @cherryechogalaxy)
Oh yay! It's been a year already!
Haven't done much here, but I hope that'll change soon. :)
It probably will, I need to join Art Fight. lol
Oh, in other news, I'm kinda sort of almost done with the rough draft of my book! Yay for me!
The editing process is gonna be a lot, but it'll be worth it. :)
So a friend of mine, who wishes to remain anonymous, told me a theory about Deltarune. Everyone who's taking the time to read this right now knows who W.D. Gaster is so I won't bother with the details. He fell into his own creation, now he's scattered across time and space, what an idiot!
My friend had an epiphany. Gaster's scattered across space and time, is always listening and always watching, and speaks in hands.
Well, who else do we know that does that?
1. Sees and watches everything these characters do
2. Is present across all endings, all timelines, all at once
3. Speaks in hands
Welllllll...
Yes, we think the player (and Toby Fox) is Gaster. Scattered across time and space? All of us playing the different routes. Always watching and listening? Watching let's plays, watching the characters do their thing through the screen. Speaking in hands? Again, the mouse.
Obviously we don't mean in a LITERAL sense that we're Gaster in the story, like Gaster is a bunch of random fragments of some guy that got stuck in the bodies of whoever bought Undertale and Deltarune on Steam, the intention of the theory is that Gaster is the character we all collectively play as, and the narrator of Deltarune is a meta-narrative representation of Toby Fox.
UTDR has always been about making in-universe explanations for video game stuff, like the ability to save, the concept of EXP, the concept of controlling the protagonist, etc. When I heard this theory, I felt it was on brand for the kind of writing these games have because of that.
It would also explain why we can never name ourselves Gaster because that's our "real" name and we can't let anyone catch on to the idea of Gaster being a thing.
Honestly, whether we're right or wrong on this, I wanted to post this here just so I could look back on it and either laugh or pat my friend on the back. It's such a smart way to look at things and I think it'd be a really cool twist. I've never heard it before, soooooooo check back in a couple years if chapter 7's out by then and see where it led, if anywhere.
I watched the Digital Circus finale in theaters last night! I was really happy with it, personally, I think everyone who worked on it should be really proud of themselves. Everything from the voice acting, animation, soundtrack, the character writing, sound design, it was so unbelievably beautiful and while it wasn't what I thought it'd be in terms of story, and there's a couple holes in it, I'm very satisfied and it felt very conclusive to me.
Good job, everybody!
There was also a couple things that were "theater exclusive," I hope they release those as part of a home release, like bonus features, or on the actual YouTube channel because while they don't add much of value to the experience as a whole, they were really entertaining. And episode 8 in theaters was worth the price of admission on its own! It's news to meeee thaaaaat it's news to youuuuuu~🎵

Sometimes I worry about coming off as too preachy, and not "casual enough."
Like, I talk about a lot of inspirational stuff and I uplift other creators and all that, and I don't really post in any "regular" or "casual" ways.
Probably because I only come here when I have something to say or something I wanna see, this is kinda the only social I have aside from Unvale, but I don't know. I just don't wanna come off as disingenuous.
I don't think "indie" is the badge of honor "ma and pa store" or "two guys in a basement" or "we can trust them completely and form parasocial relationships with them" thing so many people seem to think it is.
"Indie" means "independent." Means no mega corps or overall big corporations overseeing their every move because they own them. Not "completely trustworthy and perfect," not "flat broke," not "never ever takes jobs working for a bigger IP or company," not a full studio, and not one person.
Inanna is the group's mom. She loves to cook and is a medic.
Would you guys still love me if I posted fanfiction too

ao3 isnt an archive NOR a library pls lmao
you do know ao3 stands for archive of our own, right? you do know its full name is literally archive of our own, right?
I see ao3 as a library, because ao3 hosts millions of written works for people to visit and read. That’s what libraries do. But I get it that to some people, the library part may be more of a metaphor than a literal meaning for ao3.
But you have to be either clueless about what ao3 is shortened for and what the platform’s full name is, or on another level of stupidity to say archive of our own isn’t an archive pls lmao
And it’s not just the name, mind you. AO3’s main purpose is to archive transformative works. Archiving works is literally the only thing it does and was created for. Which just makes anon’s claim even funnier.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Librarian says yes, AO3 is a fucking library AND an archive. Does it have a curated collection of materials? YES, it’s library. Does that collection contain materials curated specifically in part for preservation purposes? YES, it’s an archive.
And it’s my dream that someday our public library catalogs will be able to organize content the way AO3 can.
writers, you can and should be proud of your fic even if you personally are not satisfied with it. because even if you think it's "not good", you can be proud of the fact that you wrote it and it's something you created. you can be proud of the fact it's not ai.
repeat after me, it's something you put your soul and dedication in — and that's something ai could never achieve.
