Synopsis: In another universe, Ymir would accomplish her death wish of marrying Historia, and this is how I think it would go.
Ships mentioned: Yumihisu (duh), Eremika (slightly at the end)
Content warning: Lots and lots of fluff and of crying. Long ass fic fr. Mikasa and Sasha are bffs with yumihisu. Maybe cringe. SOME angst, with comfort. Mentions of homophobia, child neglection, and awful parenting. (Historia doesn't have a good relationship with her family basically.) Historia's canon backstory has been altered so it fits the modern au I took a lot of creative liberty lol
Yapping section: God I love yumihisu so much, their unfulfilled life goal was to get married and I suppose since it didn't happen at least I can write a reality for them where it did. ๐ญ

โฅ๊ง Starting with the outfits, It was absolutely impossible for me to find any pictures of a white suit that fits the invisionment that I have for what Ymir would wearโ A white suit, extra but not too much, comfortable and classy. So instead, I think they would both wear white dressses in their wedding day. I believe that's also fitting for them. Cause really, what even are gender norms bsffr
But of course, they would be completely different styles to fit what they each are comfortable with and like.
Historia's dress would look something like this:
Fluffy, flowy and princess like. Ethereal looking
While Ymir's dress would look something like this:
Simple, classy, with lace and small bows.
(Both their dresses are inspired by what they wore canonically but esp Ymir with the white dress in her backstory)
โฅ๊ง Going on with the guests list and roles! Their personal attendant would be Mikasa. For both of them. Mikasa and Historia are actually really close good friends, and Ymir and Mikasa just get each other perfectly. I can also see their honor attendant being Sasha. Sasha is their best friend, day1 wingwoman, third wheel and biggest supporter. And finally, their ring bearer would be Reiner. After all he is the one Ymir chose to trust with her final words and love confession. Promising her and making every effort for the letter to arrive to Historia. The perfect ring bearer if you ask me.
As for the wedding party in general all of the guests would include Connie, Armin, Eren, Berthold, Annie, Nanaba, Daz, Jean, Marco, Levi, Erwin and Hange.
Historia would also want to invite many people from which trained with them during the cadet years, Ymir prefers having a smaller crowd so they both settle for a mutual arrangement of around 23 people more or less.
And finally, as for family, and the wedding traditions including them, most of them would be skipped. Since Ymir is an orphan and Historia, well... The only one who would come to her wedding is Frieda.
She's never had a good relationship with them, it's not like they liked her either. Maturing was realizing any kind of interest ever shown on her as a kid was for person benefit. Her father was already married to another woman, a women whom which he had plenty of children with. He did not need any more, especially when he cheated on his wife with Historia's mother. Historia's mom got pregnant with her; the news a misfortune in everyone's life. Her mom didn't want her, but she was too terrified to abort, so she kept her. Her dad obviously didnt want her either, but seeing as she was already born against his bribing there wasnt much to do about it. And if your wondering about Historia's "step mom", when the news reached her she was also too influenced by her father's fame and riches to be able to consider the right to divorce. Nontheless her dad's family did all know about Historia's existence, they just never directly acknowledged her or paid her any mind to care.
Her life, was seen more so as a burden, than a blessing. It seemed as if everything Historia did was under their radar, what they cared most about was their reputation. Reputation over anything else.
All but her sister Frieda, who would consistently visit Historia out of sympathy, and care. Frieda was the only supporting, loving family in Historia's life.
When Historia came out for the first time, her family's reaction wasn't surprising, yet oh how it hurt nontheless. Isn't it pathethic, how someone could cause you so much harm, yet we'll still crave their approval? Her family werent very supportive persay, when it comes to her sexuality and eventually her and ymirs relationship they where more concerned about traditional values and public impressions than anything.
Frieda, nonetheless, still came, and she served so beautifully as a supportive older sister figure that every other family members absence became unnoticed.
โฅ๊ง Let's talk about the Rings <3
Reiner would definitely accompany Ymir first. He would also have her trusted honor of delivering it to Historia on their wedding day like Ymir gave him to deliver her letter in the og au.
They would both go to the jewerler, spending the entire day trying to find the perfect one, none of them are exactly experts, but when Ymir laid her eyes on a floraly bright one she felt just exactly it was the one Historia was meant to carry. She didn't know a lot about rings but she knew Historia, and she knew she would love it
How I imagine Ymirs Wedding ring gift for Historia would be;
Next up, Reiner would go with Historia to pick out Ymir's ring!! And boy did that take even longer, figuring out the taste of someone who doesn't wear jewelry often is just complicated
But finally, she settled for one with gems shining bright as her eyes <3

I don't wanna stick to heteronormative wedding traditions, I feel like it would be very adorable for them to both walk down the isle together. They would both definitely cry, but Ymir would start sobbing at Historia in the ceremony after trying to play it cool so long ๐ญ๐ญ
Sasha Hange and Armin would start crying for them too, Mikasa observes them both very warmly, making sure nobody ruins it for them
Connie along with Reiner would tease and pick on Ymir's posture and mannerism playfully
"can you be ANY more nervous" "your nonchalant act ain't working btw" "stop ugly crying ur scaring ur wife off" Alls worth to make her chuckle.
As they where announced wives, Armin took the most beautiful shot of them together with his old camera; One they had used memorable times in hang outs and silly outings, the picture became more cherished than any professional one
โฅ๊ง Bouquet tossing ๐ข๐ธ
A beautiful white and pink bouquet of peonie flowers and pale roses is handed to the couple, made by Berthold himself as a shy yet considerate wedding gift.
They would decide to make a small homage to the tradition of throwing the bouquet among their friends, they hold their hands together and reach out!
Coincidentally... It happens to fall right at Mikasa's lap !
