hey this "occult" language people are using is an African language called Amharic which people have used as a generic "curse" language for a while, it's really disrespectful and portrays African cultures and languages as demonic.

Latin is a language specifically associated with religion and magic though. They’re just using Amharic here because they’re lazy and it’s the first language with a “weird” (aka non-latinized) alphabet in tu the alphabetical order dropdown menu. Also people don’t speak Latin, Amharic is the everyday language of one of the largest ethnic groups in Ethiopia. Also there isn’t racism against Latin speakers lol? Like the portrayal of Africans, esp East Africans as having some sort of Ancient Evil Occult Magic is a popular historical trope which is made even more ridiculous by the fact that Ethiopia is largely a highly religious Christian country.

Like I shouldn’t have to explain why keysmashing an african language and then adding it to a pic of baphomet and saying it’s an “evil spell” is intensely racist....not only does it display an condescension towards african culture, inherent in their lack of knowledge of one of the most important languages on the african continent but it also feeds into centuries of European colonialist propaganda about the Heathen Blacks and their Satanic Magic. Again, it’s pretty ironic because Ge’ez, which shares that script with Amharic, is the first (?) language that the Bible was translated into!
