A Love Letter
My dear,
You have been loved all in the wrong ways.
The world’s love is selfish. It is always all about what we can get, what is convenient for us, or what is easy, and never about what we can give especially when it requires pieces of ourselves.
And yet we claim that we love, that that is love.
But isn’t love something that we give and not something we ask for? Well, surprise. You cannot give something that you do not have. And I know you are sad, trying to live in this broken world, trying not to but can’t help anyway but to believe in all sorts of lies it offers, I know you are trying. Thank you for trying, it is a feat in itself. But please stop. Stop trying and struggling to find love all in the wrong places. Stay still and be found instead. I know it’s hard to believe because the world taught us to laugh at these things, but He died for His love for you. He is in need of nothing we can offer but He chose to love us. Not because we deserve it, no. We can never earn it or pay for it. So please receive it, and for once, let your weary heart find rest in a love that is sure.
After all, who wants to be loved the way the world loves? I don’t want to, anymore.
With hope,
