It had been a hot second since she’d talked to her brother past the off hand greeting through the hallways, and now that she had a free period (it wasn’t free. She just didn’t feel like going to class), she spotted him and made her way over, a grin on her face. “Hi Seb!” she greeted, hopping up beside him.
Seb had been out of sorts for...well, it had been a while. He couldn’t pinpoint what it was, but he spent more time stuck in a loop of fine to angry to upset and back to perfectly fine, and he had no idea why. He just knew most of it wasn’t his, the anger too bitter, and the mix of other emotions too...detached. His only solution, save for literally blocking out his mutation, was to avoid people. So he could hardly be blamed for the way he jumped when Emily bounded up to him. “Emily! Uh, shit, sorry.”

Charlie’s lips pursed as he eyed the now coffee-covered person. He looked down at the near-empty cup in his own hand before bringing his eyes back up. “Uh… sorry?”
“Uh, no, it’s fine.” It wasn’t fine. It was gross, and probably going to stain, but whatever. No one else was alarmed but him, it seemed, so freaking out would be a bit much. “I just. Uh. It’s my bad, I guess. I’m kinda spacey. Sorry.” Well, shit. Was it weird to apologize when the other person had just apologized?

Because, like, then my chances of finding ones who can learn Tackle are better, which means I can actually train it to get stronger, and get a Gyrados, or a bunch of Gyrados, and then trade those for other Pokemon, if the only requirement is I can only catch Magikarp.”

Looking over papers from her students never seemed to bother Mantis like she would hear others talk about, she always found what her students put on paper fascinating. Seeing how they took to her teaching gave her insight into what she could do better should there be something she needed to improve on. Mantis, as she was reading a new paper, she felt the presence of another, not odd given how many were at the school now but when it lingered by her door she wondered if it was someone not wanting to bother her. “If you are looking to speak to me,” She called out. “you may come in. I may be a little distracted but I assure you, you will not be a bother.”
“I mean, I’m not...trying to be a bother or anything. But...” He trailed off, shrugging. Unchecked hyperempathy in a place like this, full of emotions and hormones and stress, was never good. He could keep it at bay for a time, but he knew self imposed isolation wasn’t a permanent solution. When he absolutely needed to be around too many people, it wasn’t uncommon for him to seek out a location deemed Safe for later, and Mantis’s classroom was just the closest one. “I just needed somewhere...quiet, I guess?” He hated that he had little control over his powers, after all these years, but what was he to do?

“I mean, you’re far from the only person to take issue with one of them.” Mostly Warren, though. Sebastian had learned all about his father’s struggles with Death and Archangel, not to mention his past problems with Scott Summers in particular. “As long as you understand I don’t take kindly to ill will towards my family, we should be fine.”

Megan couldn’t believe that she ended up having to actually end up camping. She was used to staying in a cabin which had fully functional wifi and had a driveway and a hot tub. To her, that was camping and that was on special occasions. To her, this was just disgusting. That and she looked dressed more for clay pigeon shooting rather than camping. Megan stopped as she sensed something. “I know your there. Step out before I force you to wet your pants.”
“You know, you’re being a little dramatic. I wasn’t even trying to sneak up on you or anything. I’m looking for someone.” Namely, his sister. He wasn’t entirely sure which group she was with, but there were only four, so. If she wasn’t in his, then clearly she was in one of the other groups. He didn’t really have a plan for running into anyone else, per se, having never really been the type to think through his ideas, anyway.
What was your childhood home look like?
“I, uh, don’t entirely remember the first one. I remember that…there was always a line of shoes by the front door. You weren’t allowed to wear them in the house. And there was a, like, mess of sandals in the doorway to the kitchen because you weren’t allowed to walk through there barefoot. I was. Pretty young when we left, though.”
