Project 3 | A "diagram" of which I honestly don't know, what I want to communicate

Project 3 | Summary
As I was glad to have something to start from (the hip) I really wanted to concentrate to show what I see within my joint. But most of my project I was thinking in the totally different direction. When I saw how far I was gone away from my idea and the principles that I wanted to communicate (a simple harmonic object that explains and presents movement) I reworked my thinking.
My final form wants to communicate these essential movements from the hip – opening and rotation. Both of these movements are very limited but we can basically guess how much limited they are. That’s why choose to partly hide the limitations.
The interface for this object is very simple and reduced but I think as this object can be used mostly by intuition this not a lack of design but a respect of peoples common sense. I think design should explain itself but also respect the user’s intelligence and curiosity.
Project 3| Model Ai)
This is my initial model of one of my two baisc ideas for this project. Apart from the funktion and (missing) relation of the two motions I furthermore want to resolve the main form a bit more.
Project 3 | Hip(ster) Diagram
The first step for me was to depict the hip itself in simplified version to get all the main possibilities - drawing very near the original hip was useful as I could imagin the movement of the body while drawing.
The second study - the actual diagram - now shows what I saw without all the thinking about bones and skin. Not all of them are correct, but that's probably not the point.
Project 3 | Quick-Brief
For Project 3: The Joint I got a headstart with a hip. Absolutely perfect because I don’t really knew why I got punished with a hip. Turned out to be not this bad (as I used to do a lot of latin dancing) and in fact I like getting a basic idea because I still think growing a design-object-tree requires a seed. And picking randomly reference images confused me.
For the joint I worked out two main points of the hip - especially the limited rotation. The main joint could enable a 360° rotation and I like the unexpected limitation of the actual joint.
The second movement I want to focus on is swifting and swinging. I think this will enable me to bring some dynamic into the model and can be found in the hip movements too.
In fact it turns out that for me (in contrast to very free-moving joints like the elbow) unexpected and expected limitation of movement will be the central idea for this project.

Project 2 | Hand-In
Here we have my final form for the hand-in. I focused on the transition from small to big in a way that refers to the bubble image (reference images) and shows the way, it is slightly growing and influenced by the wind. I think my final form can bring these two ideas together.
As both movements are not regular and perfect, I wanted to support this with the material, that's why one side of the the paper is ripped, while the other is cut.
Project 2 | Process
How to make a final form. I made four of the same - unfortunately because I made some little mistakes in all first three in terms of either the order of the pieces, the stiching or the fixing of the end-connections. Main knowledge I gained: I’ve always been better with threedimensional material like wood and steel and stiching hates me.
