Ivion of Questionable Sanity

I am Ivion, fear my Pebble with respect! I've taken up a hidden residence within my home(?) Region of Orre. I'm always one to enjoy those that prioritize the upkeep of their mind and of curse their pokemon. If you wish to try and venture into my mind be warned. “Oh, um.”  Wow that was a lot of money!  Was it okay to just take it.  Sayuri reached out a careful hand, glancing at Ivion to see if he was really sure.  Well…if he was really sure…  She picked the nugget up, marveling at it.  “Wow, thank you!  Um, are you okay?”

He looked so serious.

Truthfully giving out a single Big Nugget wasn’t really an issue to the Scientist. This was mostly due to himself ending his full course meal perfectly. Which resulted in him attaining twenty-five Big Nuggets for his effort for a meal in peace. 

“I’m quite alright. Just a matter pertaining to our newfound Virtual friend, here.” He admitted, softening up his expression.

“Well boy, was I unimpressed, when I peered into Nether-World’s back and only saw the inside of their body. There was no soul absorption or anything.”

“Truly it was all rather disappointing experience. It really opened up my eyes to the fact of PokeDex entries not always being correct.”

“I believe, it was back around a mere month after my dear childhood friend decided to head back out into the world, that Mainframe had begun to undergo a strange altering to it’s codding. Which left my younger self quite the mess with worry.” 

“Although once I settled down and looked into the situation further… I had found that Mainframe was in the middle of updating to reach a new stage of being. My dear Porygon was becoming a Porygon 2. And all without the inconvenience of trading away my dear pokmeon for the simple sake of evolution.” 

“It was at that point that I learned of my pokemon’s desire for more strength. Counter to my believe then, my dear pokemon friends desired to reach further past their basic forms. All for the sake of protecting each other in hopes of improving our survivability within Orre’s Under.”

Zeta was in a… Mischievous mood. And what do to relieve the feeling? Torture a scientist trying to actual research and maybe even important experiments. The Porygon-Z inserted themself into one of the scientist computers and opened up a text editor and started writing random stuff. It would certainly confused and maybe even scare the scientist hoped the pokémon.

Busy in the undergrounds beneath his own home. Ivion was in the middle of working in his hidden Laboratory. He had finally, found the time and motivation to work on his P*DA’s codding. The common glitches of his device was always aiding in his inability to navigate within other regions, and today was going to be the day he solved his Mapping app’s issues. Or at least this was to be true until he saw some words pop up on screen.

“Hm?“ He murmured, stroking his goatee

“Sorry to be the bearer of negative news, my friend. But, I was abandoned long before my younger self held the cognitive abilities to retain memories of my female parental unit.”

“So to answer you… I assume, blank darkness?”

Her attention is immediately drawn to it. “Oh! Well, that might not be of any interest to 4 4 H y, but I’d certainly like a closer look, if that is what I think it is!”

“Huh, Really?“ Given the other’s words, Ivion found himself giving the Odd Keystone a questionable look. Even though he was already aware for the capabilities of what he held. “But, sure. I’m sure no possible negative occurrence should happen.“ He replied, holding out the stone in his left hand’s open palm.

Fifteen years was longer than Sayuri had even been alive.  Ivion must be pretty ancient.  Sayuri shook her head at his apology.  It wasn’t like she had much else to do.  Well, she might.  Sayuri honestly wasn’t sure if she could be using downtime during the contest to be more productive.  But her team needed a break.

“It’s no problem!  I’m just glad Mainframe was safe.  Plus um, we did find a pokemon, so it’s not like we came up empty handed?”  Who knew the story with the second stage Porygon though.  Mainframe maybe.  “Um, did you need any more help?  If not, I should be going back to the hotel.”

Shifting his attention away from Mainframe, the Scientist refocused back on his helper. “Why I understand, but do allow for myself to compensate you for your aid. As I, wouldn’t feel right for taking away your time, only for it to end up proving fruitless.” Reaching into his coat, Ivion pulled out a Big Nugget and held it out for the other.

“As it is for me. I assume this is your workplace if that’s the case? What sort of work do you do?”

“Temporary workplace, yes. Although for my own focuses on work... Why I, would explain it as, simply each day’s work load can vary by a wide margin between each other”

That whole thing went straight over Nilos’s head. Unlimited Energy? Pebbles? How could a rock give off energy? Was it something like those Mega Rocks he had heard about? There was absolutely no way he could figure out what any of that meant… but he did, however, understand the last sentence-

“H-help Pokemon and human’s alike? I’d like that. I-is there anyway I can help?” He offered.

Hearing of the other’s interest within his endeavors brought upon a thankful expression from Ivion. It was rare for random Strangers to hold real interest on P.E.B.B.L.E.s, much less inquire on the topic of lending their aid.

“You see, I’ve journeyed over to this area after I did some readings. I’ve found that there seems to be a particular substance naturally being created around here.” Pausing, Ivion’s smile began to change into a mischievous grin. “One that holds similar properties an ingredient of my P.E.B.B.L.E.”

“I suppose that’s true…but sometimes I feel like I’m just doing the same things over and over again…There’s not much info on Mega Evolution, so, I’m basically just memorizing all of the info there is about it.” She sighed and shrugged. “But I don’t mind. It’s an interesting topic, and there’s bound to be more information out there.”

“It’s is the problem of studying only one field. When one hits the wall of limitation, you can’t help but feel there is little more for one to delve deeper.” although unlike the other, Ivion held the option for switching his focus on another specialty. At least until, either a breakthrough, or an accident could occur to allow for further study.

“Yes, but it doesn’t seem to be older devices in general that attract her. just gaming handhelds. Otherwise, it’s a complete mystery what she’ll be drawn to. So it’s most likely your Pokemon that made her behave so strangely.”

“Either option could fall within the reason in this case.” Tilting his head slightly, the man gave a simple shrug of his shoulders. “Well at least, I from what you’ve stated. I know this is not the cause for attention.” He remarked, taking out an odd Keystone from his left pocket.

   ❝Thank you. My Creator spent years to perfect my designs and I feel it shows. He appears quite proud in his work as is warranted. I was his first project after several years of latency.❞ While what for humans would be considered extremely invasive, Ai sat patiently as nearly all of his inner workings were displayed before the man. Though there were a few things that had been locked from his viewing, memories being one of these things as Ai felt that was of minimal importance to him.

   His head tilted curiously as the scientist mentioned the desire to touch a few things up, even requiring to order parts. What was it he felt needed touching up? And would now be a proper time to make his…somewhat strange request? The mention of a change in energy source possibly taking some time didn’t particularly bother the AI, even if he still was curious about this P.E.B.B.L.E he continued to speak of.

   ❝My current battery system is rechargeable, and kept on a strict…somewhat strict charging schedule using outlets and my companion when he is willing.❞ He glanced to the Pikachu on his shoulder, who gave a guilty expression considering he tended to avoid his responsibility when he was able. ❝I do not mind awaiting the creation of a modified P.E.B.B.L.E should it’s creation not trouble you. I am though, curious as to what these “touch-ups” you desire include. As well…I have a request of my own, although it may sound strange to you.❞

“I mean, no offense.” He replied, turned back his head slightly to show a grin. “Just a few modifications for efficiency's sake.” He explained, before returning his attention towards his projected screen. “A few of your functions seem to be drawing minuet amounts of energy than should be required.”

“Hmm... adapting the process of my P.E.B.B.L.E. might be of an easier task. Also safer for you. As if something were to happen to the dampener alone... well let’s just assume nothing pleasant would occur.” would put in a few different fail safes, in case anything would happen. The last thing Ivion would want to happen, is Ai’s circuits frying due to his P.E.B.B.L.E.’s fault.

If we ship something (or our characters otherwise have a very developed relationship romantic or not) know that I definitely want to talk about it. All the time. I am totally willing to talk headcanons, scenarios, do plotting, all of that– but I don’t want to seem like I’m being pushy by bringing our muses’s relationship up. I just want to know that if I do talk about that sort of stuff with our characters that I don’t come off as annoying… Or seem like all that I’m thinking about is our ship. If you do let me know it’s okay to talk about it whenever, though, totally expect me to send you anything I think of when it comes to our muses relationship! There’d certainly be no shortage of things to talk about. I just want to make sure that you’re just as engaged in it as I am.
