     “If he is up to the task, I trust him to manage affairs when I’m gone, yes.” Their old sensei wasn’t exactly a spry young man as he once was, but he still seemed to have his wits about him. Having to train him back when he was just a child alone had required the sharpest skills Suna had to offer, Baki-Sensei managed to keep things in order. “Your son, Shikadai. He’s very much like his father.”

     Gaara had only visited his sister in Konoha once or twice since she had migrated to marry Shikamaru, and thus had limited interaction with his nephew unless Temari decided to bring him along. “Though he has your eyes."

Spending time with his family, the kin of his only sister, brought a joy to the Kazekage’s life unlike any other. “Maybe so, but you should take everything he tells you seriously. Shikamaru is a wise Shinobi, and I don’t doubt you'll be even more so one day.”

Boi I had an senju oc once... she was pretty much related to tobirama... I kinda scraped her bc I cringe at OCs related to canon characters. Yet it's hard to avoid that in the Naruto fandom

   — HIS EXCITEMENT PEAKED WHEN GAARA COMPLIED WITH HIS REQUEST ; he already knew what growing as a jinchuriki felt like but he had so MANY QUESTIONS he’s dying to ask. he tilted his head to the side ; moving closer to his friend as he ( finally ) reacted to his confessions. ❛ the sand —- it’s your mother, right ? i mean, it’s her legacy, dattebayo ? ❜ as someone who didn’t really get A SOUVENIR of his own mother, he hoped that he was correct —- for gaara’s sake. he wouldn’t complain though — he got the chance to meet KUSHINA after all. 

     Gaara remained silent at first, lost in his own thought as Naruto triggered the memory of his battle with his father. Though the reluctant reunion was brief, it revealed much that helped to put the sand ninja at peace. “...That is what I’ve come to realize.”

     In a way, the sand he now carried was a memento of both his parents. The sand containing the very will of his late mother, and the incorperated gold dust that he had taken from his father. “My sand... It represents many things.”
