The Conflict and the Interest

This is my favorite part of being in a committed relationship.

Your partner is looking at themselves in a full length mirror or vanity or something like that. From their body language and facial expressions, you can tell they’re having that same ol’ internal crisis: “Something doesn’t look right. Is it too tight? Is it showing too much? It looked better in the store. They probably thinks I look fat in this”…and so it goes.

And the whole time, you’re sitting there thinking to yourself, “Damn, they fine. And I get to call them MINE. Like…look at them. Sweet Jesus, blessings upon blessings. How do they not know how bad they are? And do they know how often I think about touching them? Hmm…I don’t think they’d mind if I just…like…took me a lil piece of this action going on back here…just a lil pinch o’ it…”

there's also "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" which conservatives are oh so fond of saying

bootstraps are, well, straps on your boots. you cannot physically pull yourself up by them, and that's what the original phrase meant. "pulling oneself up by the bootstraps" is meant to be an impossible task
