While I love to spread out across a variety of fandoms and just have fun, I do tend to get strongly hyperfixated on one or two specific series' at a time and post about that one a LOT. Just because I stop posting about something that you may have followed me for, doesn't mean that I've lost interest in it or my love for it has diminished in the slightest!

probably one of the reasons why i love phm so much is that it's a movie literally about the merits of platonic love and platonic soulmates. enough of these stupid romance movies gimme two characters whose friendship fucking saved both their planets, and who love each-other so fucking much that they would sacrifice themselves for the other over and over again. finally, a movie that shows that all love is powerful, not just that between romantic partners.

I kinda assume you liked it due to all your tiny human asanthony art (which I love so, so much <3) But do you want to break anything down you found that no one really is mentioning? SPOILERS FOR GOOD OMENS 3

I understand wanting Aziraphale and Crowley to be able to settle down, be together like they wanted to be. Eternally, with all their memories in tact, learning to grow and heal from their traumas and live a cozy life in their South Downs cottage.

And they lived happily ever after

But when has literature been that kind to star crossed lovers?

They deserved their happy ending too.

They all did.

Every couple in stories and in real life where shit just doesn’t happen for them. It’s sad. But it’s still beautiful. It still happened. We witnessed it, we loved it.

We can go on and on about how we wanted the story to end, how other people have their own solutions, other choices they could’ve made, but it was not up to us. I still think it was beautiful.

Aziraphale and Crowley’s love materializing to create a new universe, then due to their sacrifice, their souls are rewarded with a new life is GODDAMN ROMANTIC.

THEY GOT A JACK AND ROSE ENDING

I do wish we could’ve gotten another, mutual and romantic kiss.

But maybe God’s answer also applies to the question:

Why give us this?

Only to take it away? (Or at the very least, not give us more?)

We value what some people don’t even know they already have.

We are spoiled, SPOILED, with movies and tv shows we’re people fuck, kiss, hug and the like. It’s everywhere. If you want it, go looking for it, you’ll find it.

Good Omens displays their love so clear through out the entire series without physical affection. And the way we’re teased with it is like the show puts its audience through the same pain as the characters.

How do you think Aziraphale and Crowley have felt their entire 6000 years of existing!? Were feeling it right now. Fuck, it’s not fair. It sucks, they wanted their kiss too. They didn’t want their first kiss to be like that. They wanted their love, just as much as we wanted to see it, and if they don’t get it, neither do we.

The finger kiss was sweet. It was subtle. It was more them. Aziraphale wanted it slow, Crowley had just learned what happens when he goes too fast. Maybe they didn’t want to have an audience. Kissing means closing your eyes, they didn’t want to stop looking at each other. That’s damn cute.

It isn’t a perfect movie for sure. It’s messy, it’s a bit clumsily condensed. it’s such a shame we didn’t get all 6 episodes. This was always going to be the ending, and the blow might’ve been softer if we had more time.

We might’ve had time for Aziraphale and Crowley to have a proper talk, have more bonding moments with the boys, and maybe their decision would’ve felt more natural. We have only 1 person to blame, and he can go fuck himself.

I love this show. I think it could go down as one of the greatest love stories of all time.

Aziraphale and the whole "getting the Bentley back" sequence like... Who is she?! Confident, cheeky, pulling a trickster-god- rigged-deal with a human? Centuries of doing the "wrong thing" but disguising it as the "heavenly thing" culminated here. Crowley must be so proud

The ending: Crowley seemingly got what he wanted, just the two of them, the bookstore, finally peace and quiet. And the realisation that it's utterly meaningless without humanity. Crowley getting god to listen to his question. Getting his wish, to get rid of the rigged, toxic system. To let his beautiful stars and nebulas unfold, governed only by the laws of the universe.

Aziraphale and Crowley finally succeeding in what they've always strived towards: protecting humanity. Their beloved earth

Fuck Neil Gaiman.

I am immensely grateful to everyone involved in Good Omens 3 for giving us closure and not letting that split screen be the last time we saw them. But absolutely fuck Neil Gaiman because that story was too big to squeeze into 90 minutes. If we'd had six episodes to build the mystery, raise the stakes, get to know Jesus, let Aziraphale and Crowley really talk to each other, that could have been incredible. Instead what we got was rushed, incoherent and messy. It was made with love and I'm glad it exists but they, and we, deserved so much better.
