Can I just say something? Cas is beyond pissed, he isn’t just angry here. Seeing Naomi, he’s vengeful. She tortured him, chased him, messed with his head, had him kill Samandriel, almost made him kill Dean (after having him kill one thousand facsimiles). She violated him.

Castiel is an angel. Literally one of the most powerful beings in creation. He is capable of killing with a touch, doesn’t even have to touch to kill if he really doesn’t want to. Dean is holding him back with one hand.

Dean, human, weak, fragile, smite-able Dean is holding Castiel back with one touch. Castiel is letting Dean hold him back from the one angel whom he has the most motivation and, some would say, right to kill.

Just think about that for a moment.

One thing that frustrates me very much about slash fan fiction is this common attitude about ‘inevitability’ and ‘climax status’ of smut. That people actually ‘tolerate’ a story just to get to the ‘good bits’, which has to be, the smut.

There are days I enjoy smut, there are days I don’t enjoy it; there are fics where smut has been one of the aspects why I liked the fic, but overall it’s just another possible angle of a person, of a relationship that is being described, being storified and if I am particularly interested in it at that moment, and if it is well-written, I will appreciate and that’s it. It is just one possible angle; not the core, not the zenith, not the ultimate.

Sure, there are people who like to read smut and or who prefer sexual relationships, good for them, just as there are people who don’t like to read smut and or who prefer to not have sexual relationships, good for them too. When sex isn’t what necessarily makes a person or relationship, why must it be an essential in fan fiction? Why must a writer feel the need to say “here’s some smut because you guys have endured this slow burn”–I wasn’t enduring anything! I was happily reading this fic and getting so much from it, enjoying all the character development and introspection, yet now, all those feelings are invalidated? They can never compare to what I will gain from the smut chapter?

Please do not get me wrong, I am not blaming writers here. I am blaming the culture that puts this particular burden and demand on all writers’ shoulders. That you have to write smut. That your story has to have smut. That your story is valueless without smut. That 50K or 100K you painstakingly wrote is insignificant and only a barely tolerable opening act to the 5K of fucking. That development you worked so hard on, those people’s sadness and happiness, their adventures and growth, the intricate plot–none of that weighs a single feather against the huge boulder of sex…? 

God. Please don’t do this. Please don’t perpetuate this culture and demand writers to follow this. Please think about what such an approach to sex means socially. Please interrogate why you take certain things the way you do and how others may not.

Aces and Pros by twowritehands Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 22,500 Summary: Dean is a porn star. Cas is ace, but he does enjoy masturbating and is Dean’s #1 fan.

Cas is Ace and Proud - from the black ring on his right middle finger to the inverted purple and grey triangle tattoo on his inner arm. But not enjoying sex doesn’t mean that he doesn’t immediately recognize Dean Winchester, porn star and bottom Extraordinaire, when he walks up to Cas’ bar. When confessing his fangirling to co-worker Jo, the author uses Jo’s confusion about how is it that Cas is asexual but would recognize (and enjoy the work of) a porn star as an opportunity to expand on elements of asexuality.

This is ultimately what I really loved about this work. The author intertwines education about asexuality with a challenging love story. There are no easy fixes or “I’m Ace, but sex with you is awesome” moments. Instead there are misunderstanding and missteps as these two work to understand each other and ultimately themselves. This is a love story and in the end, they find a balance that for them is just perfect.

yooooo I know I haven’t been too active here lately, BUT I have a Queliot fic going on over here called “Don’t Say Magic Is Real” and I just updated it, so y’know, there’s that.

It’s inspired by this quote that we all know and love:

“Look, don’t go out there and be the old you.” “How, Eliot? I go back there, and I’m… I’m a depressed super-nerd.” “How about I find you, and I don’t say magic is real, but I do seduce you, and so lift your spirits that life retains its sparkle for decades?” “Yeah, that sounds nice. Thank you.” “Okay.”

Summary: Pretty much what it sounds like. What if Quentin had been expelled and had his mind wiped after all? Obviously, Eliot, being the good friend that he is, would carry through on his promise...

In the book we find out in book three... so I'd assume he's not had much change at this point in the timeline? Probably?

Yeah, you’re probably right... I just find it weird that the show introduced us to him and then completely dropped him from the storyline again :/
