i haven’t been on this app in a HOT MINUTE 🤠

the night i came out to my dad i kept on thinking like this is the perfect time to say it, but what if it’s too early? what if i regret it the second it slips out? i just kept worrying and stressing. it got to the point my heart beat was so fast and like i never understood the silence is loud thing but it was. their air was stuffy and i had to choke it out of me.

push yourself to do things. it’s never too early. i feel so light now. so relieved. it’s cliche but it does feel like a weight is lifted off my shoulders. i’m content, even if it’s just one person knowing, it’s okay.

i wanted to post this bc i deleted my other post hah idk why.

trust me, it’s worth it, just push yourself to do things you’re too scared to do. it’ll be worth it in the end.

Oh my gosh, mine does this EXACT SAME THING.

The cocker spaniel is prone to ear infections, so she needs a solution squirted down her ear canal and massaged in on a regular basis. She absolutely HATES it, but she endures it because she’s a good girl and she knows she gets treats after.

The border collie does NOT have ear issues, and doesn’t need the solution, but every time I’ve finished doing the cocker spaniel’s ears, he comes slinking up to me with his tail between his legs and an expression like “It is my turn for the ear torture. 😔😔 do your worst. 😔😔😔” and he will KEEP ACTING LIKE THAT until I put the closed nozzle of the ear solution into his ear and tip it upside down and massage his ear for a bit. Then I tell him he’s done and he immediately turns delighted, because “oh, wow, I survived the ear torture, and now I’m just vibrating with delight at my survival, wow, that was rough, but I made it through”

At literally no stage did we ever tell him he needed his ears done. He just saw the cocker spaniel getting it done, and was like, “oh. 😔 ear medicine for all of us 😔”

something doesn’t sit right with me with the way the world has been quiet towards the genocide currently taking place in china. there are over millions of muslims that are being raped, tortured, and forced to eat pork simply because they are muslims. i’ve talked about this so many times in the past year yet it is continuously brushed down. their ultimate goal is to denounce islam from every single muslim there. you know what i do see on my social media feed right now? i see constant praise towards the street fashion in china. there’s nothing wrong with that but how can you support and praise the good aspects of a country and ignore the bad that is taking place there, that they are tacticfully hiding from the rest of the world? should we wait to care when it’s written in a history book? this breaks my heart as a muslim. they don’t get to practice their religion peacefully because of the geographical location they are in. it’s not fair. this isn’t a ‘muslim’ issue this is a HUMAN issue. the entire world mourned the loss of a burning cathedral in france. but while a genocide is occurring, with intentions to wipe an entire group of people, the world has turned a blind eye. simply because muslims are not worthy enough to fight for? if you care here’s a link to a petition. please spread the message and don’t turn a blind eye to this. i’ve attached some important resource links below for those interested in learning the entirety of what’s happening.

i dont know if i was clear enough about my situation. i don’t have a place to sleep or a consistent source of good food, i work AT LEAST 16 hours a day. i have to carry 30+lbs of equiptment to and from one of my jobs, including through a 4 mile long bike ride (my only transportation). i also need new equiptment for my job, as a lot of my older stuff is either with my parents (i cant go back to my house) or broken. im struggling so much already & it’s only going to get harder once college starts up again. i just missed a medical insurance payment and have to pay late fees on that too.

any help is appreciated.

Like screw anything calling this “politically correct,” this is what the real world literally is. And the world’s population of children is just as diverse as its adults. Kids deserve to see themselves represented. As a disabled person myself, I can’t tell you how much this would have meant to me as a little girl.

if any of y’all think this is overkill:

i babysat the sweetest little girl who was in a hot pink wheelchair. it was almost brand new, and she was just so excited to finally have a good wheelchair!! the day i walked into the house after she’d gotten it, she wheeled over to me with the biggest smile and said “it doesn’t hurt my back anymore!!”

for her birthday, i got her a barbie doll who looked a lot like her (it was the one with vitiligo) and a little barbie wheelchair and a few other accessories because who doesn’t like accessories?

apparently she’d had a white doll for a while and of course loved her doll but when she saw not only the one with vitiligo but also the wheelchair? and she put that little doll into the wheelchair and pushed her around a bit on the table? she looked up at me and burst into tears, grinning from ear to ear, and murmured to me “she’s like me. i didn’t know there were ones like me” and lemme tell you i nearly broke down right then and there and i gave her the warmest smile and hug i could muster up and her parents called me a few months later (i’d stopped babysitting because they didn’t have money to pay and wouldn’t allow me to babysit for little/free like i offered because i knew they both were searching for jobs and couldn’t be around their kid much bc interviews) and they just thanked me, their daughter was “so happy to have a doll like her that she carried the barbie around with her all the time”. they hadn’t been able to afford the doll and were actually saving up for a wheelchair at least.

this isn’t overkill.

this is giving kids a doll like themself. this is showing them that they aren’t weird or irregular or not normal. this is showing kids that others who are different from them, others who do have a prosthetic or a wheelchair or dark skin or vitiligo, that those kids aren’t weird. if a little girl sees a barbie in a wheelchair, she’ll just think “oh that’s my friend!!” and be exposed to the fact that these “different” kids are kids too, friends and acquaintances and not people to be mocked or bullied.
