a word on divinity as a coping mechanism

so im seeing a few posts about the “harmful” nature of divinity blogs and i feel the need to remind people that for alot of us this is a coping mechanism. most of us are mentally ill, and we don’t do these things to offend you, we do this to cope with unfortunate situations. i obviously can’t speak for others, but for me my divinity gives me a sense of peace and control, which comforts me, and what i reblog reminds me of that control. to sum it up, stop hating mentally ill people with a coping mechanism that works for them, we aren’t hurting anyone.

Dearest, otherkin is not a chosen identity-this applies to deitykin as well. Choosing an identity as a coping method is called Copinlink and is a seperate community ( that does have occasional overlap)

As it is just because someone is mentally ill does not mean they have an excuse to act like a dick. Being kin is not a free pass for shitty behavior and we ALL must take personal responsibility for our words and actions.
