Grocery?
He doesn’t have a context for that word, so he maybe pries just a little bit, slipping his own thoughts in between thoughts of numbers and those little slips of paper and—
F O O D, he suddenly realizes and is, just as suddenly, hungry. He’s still bad at recognizing the sensation. He presses his hand to his stomach, reminding himself of the empty and the growl and.
remember this.
It takes him another second to construct a new picture, but when he slips it over top of Chanyeol’s thoughts it’s complete and clear: Chanyeol with a bag, Elenin on his heels with a second bag.
I help?
Chanyeol blinks rapidly at the again, fast images being portrayed to him. confusion searching hunger confused hunger? remember go please help. It makes his spin.
As soon as he feels like he has his own thoughts, emotions to himself (this was so weird, since when has his emotions and thoughts not been to himself- who was this kid?), the last image sticks to him. Help, the other boy wanted to help. He doesn't see why the other can't go with him... Maybe he should be concerned about inviting a stranger to following him around, but a steady wave of happiness seemed to be emanating from Elenin. And he could do with some help.
A shrugs and an easy bright smile, "Why not?" he turns back towards the direction, making waving motions that way. "Are you ready?"

_ the perks of being your friend :
MTs were supposed to be fun. Supposed to be. MTs were supposed to be like social gatherings with a lot of drinking, partying, and singing songs around a bonfire. MTs were supposed to be the stories you’d tell to your grandchildren and the adventure you’d look forward to all your college campus life.
Kyungsoo’s father had sent him off to his school’s MT saying words of encouragement like don’t worry and the classic be yourself, not knowing being himself had been what repelled people from him in the first place. Kyungsoo packed all of his bags like he was going on a month-long trip out of the country and also happened to be the only one who had packed in bulk. Everyone else at the MT looked less-equipped, which probably explained why it had taken Kyungsoo triple the time it took to unload his luggage from the bus.
He already felt a little out of place not having Mio, his cockatoo, with him, but now he was out of the social circle. The guys from the big fraternity groups told him to camp somewhere outside because there wasn’t enough room for people who didn’t matter inside the cabin. Ouch, harsh—but Kyungsoo had heard worse.
He nodded and told them he understood, then left the others to party while he had his own camping site close to the edge of the woods. Kyungsoo tried to be optimistic the whole time, thanking the heavens that he had brought a one-touch tent and things weren’t really so scary. Plus, he had a campfire all to himself to cook all the sausages and marshmallows he wanted! He huddled up with a blanket around his shoulders, his jumbo marshmallow slowly browning as he turned it over the flames.
The distant-but-not-so-distant boom boom of the bass turned up loud was really hard to ignore, but so was the rustle Kyungsoo heard a few feet away. He looked up, eyes wide as saucers, and pointed his stick to the dark, “Wh-Who’s there?"
This was the moment that Chanyeol had been working all term for. A summer, that should should be spent outdoors enjoying the sun and the heat, instead was spent inside a stuffy library cramming information into his brain until the wee hours of the morning. After months of suffering from tests, long shifts at the hospital, and too much time not soaking up the rays of daylight- it was here. The biyearly medical MT where tired, overworked medical students from around the city threw away the textbooks and soaked up the relaxation of freetime, each others company, and the outdoors.
Chanyeol had been particularly looking forward for this MT, seeing at it was his first as a med student. Almost like his introduction into the peer group of Seoul's medical schools. The entire ride to the campground had been spent bouncing in his seat, bothering the people around him, and talking up everything he was looking forward to most. Nothing was more exciting then a long, deserved break from his hectic schedule.
The moment his classmates had gotten there, sometime around dusk, they had dropped off their bags in the cabins, their school was lucky enough to rent, and immediately gone off to find trouble. They had been playing some sort of running, tagging kind of game which had quickly escalated into a fierce game of hide and go seek.
Having been unlucky enough to be found early on in the game (Chanyeol had never been very good at hiding in one place for very long), he took to wandering and weaving random paths through the trees. The bubbly excitement now worn off for a more contentment to be outside. To be breathing fresh air. The sun had long since set and Chanyeol took in the tranquility of night with eager eyes.
He was enjoying himself, that is, until it became really dark (how did it get so pitch black out here?), and then Chanyeol figured out his random meandering meant he had no idea where he was or how to get back. Searching for any clue of where his classmates and their campfire were, Chanyeol kept his large eyes peel for anything. That's when he saw the warm, orange glow against the darkness. A grin breaks across his face, walking pace picking up. He'd finally found it, their campfire.
When he emerges from the trees, instead of seeing the grinning faces of his classmate, he sees a small looking boy blinking large, doe-like eyes up at him, a comfortable looking fuzzy blanket draped over his shoulders. Blinking his own large eyes at the new boy, he realizes he was probably intruding on something. But- Chanyeol sniffs at the air, eyes closing happily, was that food he smelled? His stomach growled unhappily, having not been fed since they had arrived a couple of hours ago.
Looking down at his stomach, the tips of his ears burn red with embarrassment. "Ah-" his deep voice cracks, "Hey there, I didn't mean to intrude or anything." He scratches the back of his neck and grin sheepishly, "I've actually lost my way and-" his eyes catch sight of marshmallow.
"Are those marshmallows?!" That was a brilliant thing to bring! Why hadn't Chanyeol thought of that? "Dude! Marshmallows!" He is halfway through stepping closer to the food, before he realizes what he is doing.
"Ah, I'm sorry. My name is Chanyeol...." a curious headtilt and another sheepish grin, "Do you know where we are?"

This Is How It Starts (With a Thump and a Whimper) || Chanyeol & Dongwoo
It was on the tip of Dongwoo’s tongue to ask again if Chanyeol knew him. How the other man knew his name. But though his head still throbbed in time with his heartbeat he remembered that he himself had told him. He was saved from embarrassing himself in front of his savior— if it was possible for him to get embarrassed. He was still crying, but felt no shame.
Perhaps, though, that had to do with the exhaustion. “I’m an honored guest?” He queried at last, toes curling under his feet as he stepped up onto the cold floor without his shoes. No socks either, he absently noticed, and idly wondered where they had gone. When he’d lost them, if he’d ever been wearing any to begin with.
He paused. Mumbled.
“I have no socks.” Filter? Broken. Probably it didn’t even exist right now. Dongwoo didn’t even know if it ever had, because there was only a blankness where his memories should have been written. “And I’m cold.” It was cold outside, too, he remembered that at the very least… though it could be gone again in a split second probably. Maybe now, though he was still cold.
Dashing away the path left on his cheeks by the tears, Dongwoo blinked at Chanyeol. “Are you cold?” he asked, trying to stand upright as he searched in his pockets for something. Anything. Papers maybe, or an identity card.
The motion felt like habit now. Like he had done it more than once.
"Apparently not, no socks," Chanyeol struggled to follow the conversation, the stranger kept bouncing from one thing to the next. Not that he could blame Dongwoo, if he'd been hit hard enough to draw blood and then not eaten or drank in a couple of days, he'd feel as if it was hard to focus as well. He blinks rapidly at the next change in conversation, "No, nono, I'm not cold." His eyebrows furrow when he realizes what maybe was trying to be said, "You aren't cold, are you Dongwoo-ssi?"
A glance down to what the other was wearing, practically rags by now. What on earth happened to this man? Chanyeol shook his thought away and helped Dongwoo too the bathroom, grabbing a table from his dining room to drag behind them on their way. Once inside, he readjusts his grip on the wounded man with a grunt, dragging the chair to face away from his sink. Depositing Dongwoo on the chair, facing away from the sink, he makes sure he is securely in the chair, tilting his head back delicately back to rest against the porcelain of his sink.
"Come on, Dongwoo-ssi, talk to me some." He wants him to talk as he quickly darts out of the room, to make sure that he wouldn't fall asleep as he was gone. Chanyeol scoops up a black throw over blanket on his couch and returns to the bathroom, wrapping the fuzzy material around him. Brushing back the long, blondish hair from his forehead, his dark eyes make connect with Dongwoo's. A small smile that hides his concern spreads across his face, "Warmer, Dongwoo-ssi?"
A frown when he sees the confirmation that Dongwoo did shed some tears. Large hands carefully brush across cheeks, hopefully in comfort. Poor thing. "I'm going to wash your hair, Dongwoo-ssi," making a point to repeat his name, to keep him aware someone was speaking to him and no one else, "I need to see how bad you hit your head. Is that okay, Dongwoo-ssi."
He doesn't really wait for a reply, Chanyeol needs to see what was going on in the oily, dirty, bloody mess that was Dongwoo's hair- whether he liked it or not.
so cute
