It’s a very special #TBT cuz it’s Walt Disney’s birthday!!! (And @mrleozombie!!!) ✨💖🏰🌟 So here’s two old cosplays of mine, Tink and Peter Pan 💫🥰 . . . I’m a huge huge Disneyphile, and have been my whole life. I just don’t post about it much and haven’t done that many Disney cosplays. And as much as I’m into geek fashion, I’ve never gotten into #Disneybounding, which kind of makes no sense LOL. I’m honestly mostly in awe and intimidated by all the bounds I see 😍 . . . Fun Fact: every adult member of my immediate family has worked at Disneyland: mom, dad, sis, bro-in-law AND, currently, my grandma! All I ever wanted to do growing up was work at Disneyland. But it never ended up happening whenever I applied throughout high school and college. It’s the only regret I have of experiences that never happened 😢 The closest I come was working for Disney Licensee. J and I created a collection to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Trek: The Motion Picture 🖖 One graphic design I’d been wanting to tackle for some time was more of a stylized art print. Something that, when worn, would just look like a beautiful mix of colors, but was actually an image if you looked closely. J was able to bring that idea to life using a shot of the Enterprise in drydock from that 5-minute love story scene of Kirk and Scotty approaching her in a shuttle 😍 It’s everything I wanted it to be and I love how it looks on our new loose fit tunic top and midi skirt! . . . I’m mildly obsessed with the idea of seasonal tribbles. I mean, lookit how cute they are?!

I sketched out this shirt design last year, but we weren’t able to get these made until this year. Almost missing Halloween a second time. Oi 😩

J took my original sketch and made it MUCH better. Ya know, so that it’s a design someone would actually buy and wear, lol.

Self care. We often put it off, ignore it, or simply never do it. But it’s essential to being the best you, so that you can be the best for those around you - whether that’s at work, your family, your friends, etc. . . Lately I’ve been feeling stressed, sore, generally overwhelmed, and constantly questioning whether I’ve been pushing myself too much, or not enough. Whenever I get to that point it’s usually a slippery slope where I end up getting sucked down into a routine of sleeping a lot and not being productive. Instead, I took a moment to accept that I AM stressed out, and that I needed and deserved time for myself so that I can be better for myself and others overall. Today that simply meant sleeping in an extra few hours and going for an easier morning yoga routine. It made a world of difference for my mental and emotional health and prevented me from derailing a daily routine I’ve worked really hard to establish for myself. . . So yes. I wanted to take a moment to remind you to take time for you. Please! YOU DESERVE IT. And you will be better for it.
