Season 1 Scully being so smitten with Mulder that she asks him if he has a girl coming over to his hotel room…honey that man does not know any girls besides you. She still hasn’t figured out he’s a loser yet 😔

Scully could break a nail on the job and Mulder would look at her with big sad wet doe eyes and tell her that their work isn't as important as her... she needs to look out for herself... she should just leave him and the x-files alone forever and ever and go back to her medical career... he doesn't deserve her... he doesn't care about his reputation but if he did anything to harm hers he would never forgive himself...

and Scully would sigh, roll her eyes, and tell him to hand over the victim's autopsy report so she can get back to work

How is it that Season 4 Scully is the most gorgeous of scullies? On another note, how is it that Season 8 Scully is the most seductive of scullies? But also — how is it that Season 6 Scully is the most stunning of scullies? Counterpoint: how is it that Season 3 Scully is the most charming of scullies? Related: how is it that Season 1 Scully is the most adorable of scullies? Tangentially, how is it that Season 7 Scully is the sexiest of scullies? I would also like to know how Season 2 Scully is the most captivating of scullies. Equally important: how is Season 5 Scully the most ravishing of scullies? Similarly — how is it that FTF Scully is the most irresistible of scullies?? And finally — if you know, please tell me how it is that Season 9 Scully is the most enchanting of scullies?

Actually YES

THIS is what made Scully— Scully. Her innate curiosity. it’s what made her check the watch in the pilot episode. Do we all remember that? Has she not checked the watch Mulder would not have known that there was a time lapse.

 It’s what made her stick around for so long. Scully is curious. Scully needs to know. It’s what made her a forensic pathologist. It’s what made her the match for Mulder that she was. it had nothing to do with proving him right or wrong. Dana Katherine Scully needed to know. Mulder had his instinct. But Dana needed to know. She needed the proof. A lot of people talk about him dragging her by some imaginary nose ring. But no one drug her anywhere! She is a curious individual. And the questions that her work with Mulder proposed, needed answers. It’s why she said that the work that she did with him with some of the most important of her life. Please understand that she was a slave to her curiosity. And we love her for that. And Mulder benefited from that but the same respect for nature that made her grief stricken over her brothers killing of a snake, Made her the same life and science respecting individual that made Mulder an entire person.

Her reasons for staying with Mulder, have very little to do with him. It was the discovery of a science that she could not quantify that made her stay.

I admire her so much for this. Facing the fear of looking head on to events that laughed in the face of everything she’d been taught.

If you look into every instance of her life that we blame Mulder for, if you really dig deep, it’s because of her own insatiable curiosity.

The most terrifying thing about The X-Files is what a day in the life of Assistant Direct Walter Skinner must look like. He has to live in fear of both the Syndicate and Mulder and Scully. He’ll get shot or infected with remote-controlled nanobots and then he has to go back to his office and deal with case reports that are written in the style of experimental prose poetry.
