oh wait FUCK that director's cut of i want to believe drops tomorrow. aaaaagh i won't be able to watch it right away,,, i am intrigued by it being like, rated r and generally more of a horror movie than the theatrical version. i thought iwtb was Fine it was Whatever, but not something i'd go out of my way to watch again outside of a full-series rewatch. i don't really know what to expect from the director's cut, so my only two hopes are this:

let scully say fuck, mulder gets to say shit all the time in x-files stuff that's not bound by fox censors (both movies and a few times in the ps2 game, possibly others i don't know about) and the one time scully said fuck in like,,, anything, it got cut. let her say fuck.

the scratchy beard scene better still be in the director's cut bc it was the best scene in the film. if this cut doesn't have it, then i don't want it-

im sure a million ppl have pointed this out before re: the reproductive trauma that was inflicted on scully throughout the show but what just hit me is tgis::

gillian anderson got pregnant right before beginning of season 2, and we know it was much to the chagrin of the show and they had to find a workaround. so what did chris carter do, but give her character pain and struggle w fertility for the rest of tge show. do you tgink it ever registered w the writers that they were sending a not so subtle message to gillian herself abt her reproductive choices?
