If trans women would just acknowledge that they're men who alter themselves to look like women, in order to ease dysphoria, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
I'm all for men wearing skirts. I'm all for men enjoying whatever stereotypically feminine things they enjoy. I'll even support medical transition, provided you're over eighteen, understand the health risks, and have faced persistent dysphoria.
The problem is that they've redefined "woman" to be a feeling. I can no longer use "woman" to discuss the tangible reality of having a female body. Presenting as women isn't enough for them, they have to be women.
Not only does this erode my ability to discuss sex-specific issues, but it leads to self-identification policies that allow men into female-only spaces. Female-only spaces that were created because of the physical threat men pose to women.
I was accused of "driving a shiv between cis and trans women," when I tried to discuss how cis women, face different issues from trans women. I didn't even say that trans women aren't women, but acknowledging a difference at all was enough to elicit hostility. (Their follow-up sentence was, "Someone should drive a shiv through you.")
My issue with the trans movement isn't dysphoric individuals trying to feel comfortable, but the denial of how biology impacts our lives.
one thing i never understood about the trans community is why they loved the idea of body modding just for the sake of modding. like the way some of them talk it sounds like they enjoy changing it just cuz they can?? no wonder they dont get detrans people theyre just like “shouldnt you be having fun with your sick alterations regardless of gender?? feeling like a frankenstein is metal, i dont get why youre unhappy”. please understand that some of us are normal
on that particular post? maybe. but transhumanist beliefs are really really common in those circles, so im not sure if its all a cope overall
Re: your tags, I was super into transhumanism for a very long time, and it definitely influenced my involvement in the trans community and my nonbinary ID.
I think it has to do with the extreme disconnect a lot of trans people* have with their physical bodies. It’s antipathy for the fact of having a physical body at all. Customizing your “flesh prison” with mods (gender-related or otherwise) is an attempt to control your own body when it feels madly beyond your control. It’s the same impulse that a cosmetic surgery addict suffers when she tries to make herself look like an Instagram filter. But, since the Frankenstein impulse (I like that term for it) is semi-counterculture and transhumanist philosophy is a neat framework for self-justification, they can reject all pushback as “these people hate us because they’re gross conservatives.”
tl;dr control issues and true, deep hatred for their bodies
*people who don’t identify as trans also fall down this rabbit hole
To be male and have such an intense lesbian fetish that you spend all your waking hours pretending you actually are one... that's honestly terrifying, disturbed behaviour. Acting out your fetish in public and forcing people to play along for your gratification is already reprehensible, but the added element of using an incredibly marginalized group of women to do it? Just completely revolting and unforgivable.
"If the preservation of the home means the enslavement of women, economically or morally, then we had better break it."
Agnes Macphail (1890-1954)

have been ruminating a bit on how someone said that seeing girld*ck posts is a consequence of what i interact with... really weird way to blame a woman for being subjected to men’s perversion, but anyway just thought it was worth mentioning that some of us on radblr are crypto irl cuz we uh... have a life! and are active members of our local scenes, create art and music, go to shows, etc. and in turn have to deal with gendie degeneracy and libfem nonsense on a regular basis, mostly via social media. tolerating it is worth not spending our entire lives being a complete shut in who does nothing but sit on tumblr. hope that clears up any confusion!
if you are a TIM that calls women “clocky” i wish you a very swallow a bullet
cis is honestly one of the most pointless terms to ever exist
it allows men to say "woman privilege" without actually saying that
Literally, I was complaining abt this gay club near me being misogynistic and this guy was commented “I bet you’re a cis straight white woman!” … they literally found a way to say female privilege
cat allergy doesn't exist people just sneeze for attention and because they're misogynists
made something for the detrans girlies
born too late to have a meaningful conversation with andrea dworkin, born too early to see the y chromosome die, born just in time to be called a terf on the internet
this is truly a god tier post
liberals will be like “men can be feminists uwu !! but not the evil kind of feminist. only women can be the evil kind”
you know i always think of that audre lorde quote when it comes to speaking abt radfem beliefs here publicly or critiquing this current ideology thats swallowed the west whole:
"I was going to die, sooner or later, whether or not I had even spoken myself. My silences had not protected me. Your silences will not protect you.... What are the words you do not yet have? What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence? We have been socialized to respect fear more than our own need for language.
I began to ask each time: "What's the worst that could happen to me if I tell this truth?" Unlike women in other countries, our breaking silence is unlikely to have us jailed, "disappeared" or run off the road at night. Our speaking out will irritate some people, get us called bitchy or hypersensitive and disrupt some dinner parties. And then our speaking out will permit other women to speak, until laws are changed and lives are saved and the world is altered forever.
Next time, ask: What's the worst that will happen? Then push yourself a little further than you dare. Once you start to speak, people will yell at you. They will interrupt you, put you down and suggest it's personal. And the world won't end.
And the speaking will get easier and easier. And you will find you have fallen in love with your own vision, which you may never have realized you had. And you will lose some friends and lovers, and realize you don't miss them. And new ones will find you and cherish you. And you will still flirt and paint your nails, dress up and party, because, as I think Emma Goldman said, "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." And at last you'll know with surpassing certainty that only one thing is more frightening than speaking your truth. And that is not speaking."
