Thinking of a space AU but it's Andromeda and Perseus, think of it like a Project Hail Mary situation but instead of Andromeda having any crew members, she is in a very isolated space ship fully knowing she is set out to be sacrificed (I haven't thought it properly yet) until a funny alien boy comes out of nowhere and hijicks ensue.
