KEATON: "I didn’t do it." And "I think I broke it."
"I didn’t do it."
Sean sighed. “Alright, I believe ye’.” He looked around to the rest of his cabin. “Okay, so, I know what’s mine is yours, but can ye’ please respect the privacy of my phone? Textin’ people askin’ for ‘dick pics’ puts me in a lot of trouble.” He eyed Brielle and Blue, almost positive it was one of them, despite Keaton being in possession of the object.
"I think I broke it."
Keaton stared at his project in dismay. It had taken hours to meld down the steel and to meld it in the desired form. Now he would have to start over again. Sean came over, hearing Keaton’s grumble.
"Errr, yep," Sean agreed as he inspected the break, making Keaton hang his head lower. "But it’s not as bad as ye’ think. Here’s how we fix it."
"Just relax." // "You’re so weird." // "Don’t go."
"Just relax."
Sean took a deep breath, attempting to calm his nerves. It didn't work. He continued to pace back and forth, pulling at the hem of his shirt.
"What if she dies?" He asked.
Ben rolled his eyes. "People don't die giving birth anymore."
"But she went into labor early!"
Ben walked over to Sean and placed his hands on both of Sean's shoulders as to glue him in place. "Hazel's fine. Your baby is fine. Everything is fine. So relax and think about how soon you're going to be a dad."
Sean nodded, taking another calming breath. He was pacing again the moment Ben set him free.
"You're so weird."
Sean looked at Ben curiously. At some point, his words had lost their threatening edge, and Sean was just realizing that. That phrase, which would have once been insulting, sounded borderline endearing.
Sean laughed.
Ben raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny?"
"Nothin', Ben." Sean headed for the door. "I'll see ye' tomorrow."
"Don't go."
Ben reached out to grab Sean's arm, but his hand passed through unsurprisingly. After all, the living can't touch the dead.
"I know it hurts, Ben. And I'm really sorry I left ye' behind. But...do me a favor? Live. Really live and be happy and do all the things ye've always wanted to do." Sean met Ben's eyes and forced away tears. Could ghosts cry? Either way, Sean wouldn't. He wanted his last meeting with his best friend to mean something more than pain.
"I'm so angry," Ben choked, clenching his fist. "It's not fair. You didn't deserve this."
"I would hope not." Sean chuckled.
"Sea--"
"Ye' need to go, Ben. There's a battle in the mortal world, and ye' need to stop it. Before more people follow me down here." Sean's ghostly image started to disappear. Alison could no longer keep his presence on the living plane. "Don't worry, we'll meet again someday."
Sean nodded, smiling. He was happy his sister had found someone to inspire her, even just a little.
"Ye'll do great. I'm sure he'll love it." He looked over the final design Andi had come up with. It fit Runner's image. "I know ye' think yer on a lower level, but yer really not. Trust me. I know a good weapon when I see it."
He handed her back the paper and she smiled gratefully. "Thanks."
"I just want to cuddle." ((pls just give this to me))
Sean stopped kissing her neck, and looked up at his girlfriend. It had been a long day and just because they had some time alone, didn't mean they had to have sex. And while his lower body protested, he smiled brightly at Hazel and kissed her on the forehead. "Alrighty."
He climbed onto his bed. "Ye' want me to put n my laptop? We could watch a Disney movie, if ye' want."
She nodded silently, just wanting to feel the affection of the person who loved her.
Sean leaned over his bed and picked on the laptop that sat underneath. After throwing on The Lion King, he pulled Hazel into his chest.
"Have you ever even done this before?" ((for mr. sean))
Sean tried to avoid stepping on her feet as her waltzed clumsily to the music. “Errr, not really. I mean, I’ve danced like, the normal stuff. But ballroom? Nope.” He stepped on her foot and mumbled another apology. “I just really want to impress her, ye’ know? Ye’ only get one wedding. Hopefully.”
She laughed at his small addition. “You’ll be fine. We have plenty of time before the date to cure your two left feet.”
"Hazel used to say that about my archery. I still can’t hit a target to save my life."
Sean took the phone that Elise had handed to him and inspected the piece. It smelt like alcohol, which was no surprise given it’s owner. “What’s the story behind this?” He asked, pressing the button to see if it would turn on. It didn’t.
"I might have had too much fun last night," she stated, looking perfectly innocent.
Sean chuckled. “Let me see what I can do for ye’.”
They say demigods lifespans are shorter than anyone else in the world. When The Fates spin their threads of fates, Lachesis is sure to make theirs shorter than anyone else.
Demigods were born to die.
When Sean saw Colin in the distance, he couldn't believe his eyes. Perhaps it was some delusion brought on by the whiskey he had shared with Ben an hour prior. Without a thought, he chased after the figure and followed him to the armory.
The next few minutes passed in a slow blur.
Words are exchanged. Words turn into yelling which turns into violence.
Sean has no time to react as Colin unsheathes his weapon.
Sean's still holding onto Colin's arm as the machete pierces his gut.
He falls to the ground when the strength leaves his body, his fingers desperate to keep Colin's shirt in his grip. But the boy pushes his off and runs off.
Atropos is holding a particular thread in his scissors, ready to snip it at any moment.
Sean's life does not flash before his eyes. Instead, he thinks of things he needs to do. It's not regret, but unfinished business that plagues his mind in his finals hours.
There are sword to be sharpened. His work space is a mess and he thinks there's an odd smell coming from underneath his desk. Maybe something he ate fell down and has been molding for weeks.
He has to welcome the new camper who is supposed to be showing up soon. A new sibling. He still hasn't cleared off a bed for him yet.
He has to make up with Julian. Everything would be so much better if they were on amicable terms. Imagine if Hazel and Vivienne could take their boyfriends out on double dates instead of needing specific friend time. It would be wonderful, even if it was far fetched.
He has to help Mal fix her friendship with Rae and Hazel. And help Ava deal with being broke. And Simon with his abuse of weaponry. And he didn't fix Harley's sword yet, let alone start on one for Ben.
He has to figure out the next project for his siblings to work on. The Chariot was a success and certainly brought them closer. The more he works on keeping them occupied, the easier it'll be to keep their minds off of darker things.
He has to hang out with Rhys, Charley, and Danny. They haven't done that enough recently. Danny has become so sad and he's worried about him.
He has to propose to Hazel. Officially. The ring is still sitting in his pocket and he wants to reach out for it but lacks the energy. He'll need to talk to her father, which scares Sean, but he'll do it for her. He would do anything for her.
"I mean, not that I wouldn’t love to hang out with you, but it’s really not that necessary." She keeps a calm composure, but she’s not looking directly at him anymore. "Um, we can go to the city together one day, if you like."
