is there a creature that you made for creature crash that you're specifically proud of? and is there a creature in creature crash that you'd love to see make an appearance in sekaiju, if you could choose any of the ones in the game?

Maybe GrimmaTheAuroraFencer? The punchbag moth is another neat line, especially as a whole.

I could in theory add any of my own creatures - or even my own CC islands - to Sekaiju with little issue, though such a thing is very low on my priority list. Other than that, I tend to view Sekaiju and CC as separate and it's been a while since I've played it, so the thought of putting a CC creature in Sekaiju is never something that has really crossed my mind.

I encourage you to just pick your own colors, though, maybe color pick from the thumbnails or ingame in a clearly lit area if you want to be super accurate. (I can't find where I saved the thumbnails for Berc and Daem anyways.....)

How exactly does one access the Apostles'/Cinders' arenas from a lore perspective?

I imagine it's some kind of different plane of reality or perception. The Apostles' are pocket-sized personal dimensions, the Cinders are more akin to fragments of Obsifal's psyche leaking out.

I do know the order and rough timeline though.

Oilbound was released around Sekaiju's first halloween (I was concerned about Spectralunar overshadowing it since it was also released around that point and was a higher level area). Oilbound is a returning island from Doragon's Garden/Fierce, and was my first island in that game too.

Autunest was released some time after Koto (I recall one of the older devs being made that I released Arthificioda right away - we were gonna wait for the quest system to be finished. Of course, it only got finished years later, so after a while we gave up on delaying mutants until then.) Autunest was actually the first island I conceptualized back during the DG days, but only got added in Sekaiju. The DG version had little to do with its current version, having little in the way of a theme, with only the autumn vibes, the bees and a volcano really making it in the current version. It did get a Fierce revamp that was far closer, even already having a Bee and Termite boss duo.

Rubidus was released after Autunest. Rubidus is the first island I released to be completely new to Sekaiju. (Though, it does have a few spiritual cues from unreleased DG/Fierce island Roche.)

For a while then we focused on other content. Near the end of what could be considered Sekaiju's golden age, however, Boleterra was released. Boleterra was originally going to be unlocked from Moori as its 'secret island', but was made a regular unlock in the end. Boleterra was intended to be the second island in a rewritten "Story outline" (originally it was Koto that was second), which eventually developed into a separate HaM project...

All efforts moved to HaM, though eventually it would be cancelled due to a lack of coders. Sekaiju as a whole would then go on a hiatus for a long time... though, it would eventually undergo a gradual revival, with Viendrome's release marking Sekaiju WoC being truly back. Viendrome was chosen for release because it would've been the next island in the aforementioned story order...

And the next island in that order was Naturlith, so it ended up being next. Though, around this point, it was clear HaM would be making a comeback, so we stopped adding islands in HaM story order. (It's worth noting Naturlith actually has roots all the way back in the Fierce. In the end, it took until Sekaiju for it to be finished and added, though. Naturlith is Cyberlith's secret island in the same was Boleterra was originally going to be Moori's.)

... Though, I wound up working on and adding The Square, in order to give WoC's mutant storyline closure. This one's a returnee from Fierce, where it was called Mechanarctica; it was my third and final island in that game, though was unlocked a bit after Oilbound progression-wise. I was actually working on Mechanarctica all the way back during the DG era!

The last island I've got added in Sekaiju was the World of Zero, which wraps the Zero storyline and gives me an outlet to share some of the ColdR storyline that's been brewing in my brain.

There's only one unique area I intend to add to WoC in the future, that of course being where the Cinder plotline leads to. Though, I don't know whether it would qualify for an island...

As an aside, there is an island I made called The Cube that was released in Fierce between Oilbound and Mechanarctica. It didn't make it to Sekaiju yet, but Mechanarctica was retroactively given ties to it (hence the name change referencing it). The Cube was a late-game island taking place in a set of cube-shaped power plant/mechanical-style area held high up in the sky. I do hope to fully realize the Cube one day, but it seems we will have to wait a very long time for that...

You'd have to ask her old owner. She does very much have unmarried aunt vibes to me, though, especially in relation to Mona.

i got too curious especially after the cincon dialogue. you know how quillon is supposed to keep an eye out to make sure sukhjot doesn't escape or get freed, right? but he's apparently spending the rest of his days crying in the mines instead, so is he really keeping guard against sukhjot? surely someone is guarding the stone door. would it still be considered quillon, or do you think there's probably a group of people in rubidus who decided to take the role themselves?

Rubidus's citizens may be in a more precarious situation than they realize... It is largely considered Quillon's duty to protect the door.

Are you alright with me having a character based on Berceuse? She's based on her in like the same way Limbus Company's sinners are based on their literature counterparts. two names and one story event is reused but other than that she's her own guy

should i change anything? or should i rewrite her altogether to not be berceuse shaped

Well, now I'm curious and want to know more...

Aside from that though, my answer depends on if it's an OC for personal use (incl. RPs and such) or if you want to do something bigger with it like a game or something. In the first case I don't mind at all, in the second case I'd rather you tweak or change the names. The rest can be chalked up to inspiration so no need for a full rewrite.

hi searchie, i've got more sekaiju echinoderm questions for you! you can just answer the ones that interest you the most lol

have you ever speculated what hairon's rune title would've been before her death? or was she perhaps not iconic enough to have a temple rune of her own?

the sekaiju wikis state that one of the four friends escaped after being broken of sukhjot's mind control, and its speculated to be bascon. however, is it still canon that bascon ran away, if it ever was in the first place?

on the topic of bascon, is it true that he's the tallest of the four? my headcanon was always that bascon is the tallest/largest while cincon is the shortest/smallest

aside from being a poisonous sea urchin, can you imagine quillon having any other traits to real life sea urchins? (for example, having a habit of holding onto stuff, wearing things as "hats" to feel safer, having flexible spines, being mainly herbivores, etc)

have cincon and quillon always been sky and toxic type respectively? their islands are themed after air transportation and pollution respectively, which would give me the idea that they would've gained their iconic types at a later point

and on the topic of rubidus, this is less of an echinoderm question and more of a question about the island itself, but what do you think the island looked like before the pollution stuff? a log in viendrome implies that it used to look a bit different

That line is pretty much outdated, but it actually related to Cincon originally; after all, she "flew away". Originally, before Viendrome was a thing, Cincon's deal was that she flew away to a flying fortress of her making in order to ignore and avoid her past mistakes. (Bascon does become relevant here, as in my current conception of his character he is similarly trying to avoid his past).

Probably not, Hairon is the tallest for sure. He is taller than Cincon though, and about the same height as Quillon; unsure which of the two would be taller.

Never really thought about how Quillon lives, I'm almost tempted to say he eats, like... rocks and crystals or something. I guess one could say that Quillon is kind of making an urchin barren with how he drives everyone away from him.

Cincon has 100% always been Sky; her occupation as airport builder was more so inspired by her flight abilities than the other way around. I do feel like Quillon was probably always Toxic too, he isn't really poisonous in a pollution way.

It was always a rather arid, mountainous, red rockish island, however the "savannah" fields may have covered more of the island, and of course there were no polluting pipes or giant mansions. The island did always have a thriving mining-based economy, but Lleh overdrove it when he was exploiting the island.
