I had a dream last night. I was in room that did not feel familiar. Maybe it was a warehouse. Or, maybe a room I am to visit in the future. Standing with me is my boyfriend, Dru. We notice two white squares on the floor. They are positioned one above the other with a little space between them. The floor looks as though you are floating in space it is so black. Suddenly, a flat circle appears in one of the white tiles. I wonder, “What am I to do with this?” I reach down to the floor and spin the circle clockwise. A door appears in front of us. Dru walks ahead of me into a bright room. The walls are painted light blue. A woman with short blond hair sits in the corner. She is wearing a royal blue wool blazer adorned with a string of white pearls and a white skirt. Her face is holds a blank expression. She is sitting as though she is made of marble. As I look around the room I notice a window in front of me. A large clock tower, picturesque little town, and a beautiful clear sky paints the wall. Dru reaches his hand toward the picture, “Look at this, Kat! It leads to the outside.” How was I to know where it leads? All I want to do is jump right into the picture. But, what was this feeling that suddenly wrapped my mind? I turn around.
My boyfriend turns me into such a NERD

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac and ruler of our second house of values. Out of the 24 hours in a day, Taurus would represent the time frame between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.. These hours for the collective most often represent a time of day in which we commence work, class begins, shops open, we begin recieving calls, etc.. Particularly, this is a time of day in which we lay foundations by daily repetitive actions and routines and Taurus is all about such kinds of foundations with repetitive actions and routines.
If you have a Taurus in your life, you are probably very thankful for them, if not, you must have some strong Scorpio aspects in your chart and they are the bane of your existence, lmao. Either way, Taurus individuals are best known for their stubborn adherence to a particular code or set of values and they are more often than not quite successful at reminding everyone what that code of ethics is. The very nature of Taurus is to uphold structures that represent things of value and for Taurus their connection to that structure is very physical, wanting to “show up” and exercise their values.
Taurus is an Earth sign and a fixed one at that. As an earth sign, Taurians tend to be very practically-minded and present. Also being ruled by Venus, Taurians love to engage in and are inspired by activities that make them “feel alive” in their bodies. These activities can include things like working with their hands, making art, trying new foods, traveling, watching dramas, gossiping, drinking/taking drugs, having sex, owning pets, sports, dancing, having children, or interacting with their families. Having children and raising families are quite often associated with Taurus individuals and if a Taurus does not want children, they could have either many animals to satisfy that familial need or have become very involved in some sort of service work in which they are responsible for providing for others. Taurus has very strong paternal instincts and having other living beings for which they can reliably provide for and protect makes Taurus feel very proud on the inside. Those of us with Taurus’s in our lives will recognize this because these beautifully true individuals are often responsible for “laying the foundations” for the rest of us.
Taurians are guilty of being quite routine and predictable as Taurus is a creature of habit, but they need those habits to uphold their foundations. Taurus’s predictability is what makes them so admirably reliable and dependable and If a Taurus is well supported by others in their lives, then they can become something of a brick at the base of a Jenga tower so that if you try to remove them from their position, the whole structure will come crashing down. Also, Taurus will almost never remove themselves from that base position either, as they proudly uphold all the rest of the bricks. In this way, Taurus is exceptionally good at making themselves indispensible to others. They wedge themselves in places where they can repeatedly exercise those values and make wherever that place may be (the workplace, church, school, or their actual homes) like home. Taurus reminds everyone there that they’ve “got their backs” and that they really do regard everyone in the group like family (including doing annoying sibling stuff like teasing). They stand strong as one of the herd, and try their darnest to never be someone who turns their backs on the people they personally feel are important.
During the age of Taurus, between the years 4320 BCE - 2160 BCE the following historical events took place:
Invention of the wheel
Erection of multiple megaliths across Europe
Indus river valley farming and agriculture
Ancient Sumeria
Silk first appeared in China
Major developments in Mesopotamian science and technology
Last known wooly mammoths die in Siberia
1st half of Bronze Age
“Nanna” the moon goddess is first mentioned in Sumerian writing
Cuneiform and hieroglyphic writing used in ancient Sumer and Egypt
First dynasty of Egypt and subsequent early Egyptian dynastic period
Predynastic Egyptian “Scorpion King” worship and evidence of at least two actual “Scorpion Kings”
“Nisaba” the grain goddess worshipped in Egypt
Worship of Anu the sky god by Akkadians
Akkadian Empire and its end
(source: ancient.eu)
What stands out most to me about this period is the invention of the wheel circa 3500 BCE. This discovery dates back to around the middle of the age, though archaeologists are still unsure where exactly it was invented. Still, what this invention contributed to agriculture and trade during the age of Taurus speaks to what kind of influence those two industries would have had on the collective during this time.
The age of Taurus hosted both the Mesopotamian and Indus river valley civilizations formed as dynastic, family-ruled settlements of people. These groups formed around their prosperous agriculture, and over time both civilizations were able to cultivate more and more complex systems of agriculture that allowed for steady, consistent growth. Then, after the invention of the wheel, trade took off.
Trade allowed for the acquisition of luxury goods. These goods became markers for divide between socioeconomic classes as these luxury goods made it easier for people to distinguish between “haves” and “have-nots.” These luxury goods included things like pottery, glass, precious metals, silk, spices and gold. Trade allowed for highly competitive markets and artisan craftsmanship became a way to display one’s wealth (note how Taurians are often known for liking to show off their collections of nice things). Long periods of stability during the age of Taurus gave way to more “feminine” expressions displayed through art of this time and the worship of feminine goddesses proliferated across ancient Sumer and Egypt around the second half of the age.
What evidence I found of Taurus’s shadow side appeared mainly as the existence of at least two Egyptian proto-dynastic “Scorpion Kings” (Yeah, the guy The Rock played in that 2002 summer blockbuster, The Scorpion King) and the widespread polytheistic worship of demonic gods (I use demonic here to express gods who appear to operate more like “djinn,” being entities that exist on the 4th dimensional plane who neither operate as good nor bad but as forces of nature. Their manipulation of nature from the 4th dimensional plane is what I am defining as demonic, again demonic being used neutrally). These gods include entities mentioned in The Book of Thoth (Bastet, Isis, Horus, Anubis) and while The Book of Thoth’s discovery didn’t happen until 30 BCE in the age of Aries, evidence of these deities’ worship occurred during this time.
I haven’t dug too deep enough yet to form a complete idea about how these demonic entities would have manifested their scorpionic-like qualities, but I can guess that it would likely have been directly related to the worship of them and certain black magick practices performed during rituals of worship, often by the Egyptian kings themselves.
One of the first lessons of alchemy is that in order to create, one must first destroy, isn’t it? Well, demonic entities operate by such a code too. The abundant growth and prosperity of the age of Taurus could have had its cost in ritual sacrifice or nonconsensual sex magick. We can also consider the destructive shadow of having all that Taurian abundance in the forms of disparity of wealth, waste, or abuses of power.
What Taurus can learn from its particularly dark shadow, is that what appears on the outside does not matter quite as much as the spiritual wealth within and Taurus could greatly improve the quality of its life by making efforts to cultivate their own spiritual wealth over their material weath. Looking within, Taurus should aim to free itself of its unhealthy attachments including transactional/codependent relationships to people that resemble demonic soul contracts (staying in jobs with terrible bosses, putting up with narcissistic partners, etc.) Such relationships prevent Taurus from living a truly abundant life, though Taurus will probably consider these people as losses and have quite a hard time letting go anyway. Yet, if Taurus can instead practice allowing people and things to come and go through their lives without always clinging on so tightly, then Taurus can work at achieving instead a spiritual sense of endless abundance and save themselves a lot of blood, sweat and tears that would otherwise shed in their constant stubborn efforts to withstand life’s relentless waves of change.
Actually, wait, I’m not done. 90% beauty industry is a big lie, so here’s some other important shit.
Pimples are fine. Everyone gets them, you can get ‘em on your chest/back/etc. They aren’t because you’re “unclean” or whatever. It’s mostly genetics. Most people don’t notice/care, and people that do point them out are assholes.
How often do you look at a person, see that they’ve got a pimple, and judge them for it? Or do you not even notice/assume it’s fine? Yeah that’s how most people feel.
You do not need 50 products for your hair. Your hair is fine. Shampoo it once a week to once a month, condition if you need to.
Esp my girls out there, you do not need to wear makeup. Your face is fine. If you like makeup, that’s great, but it is by no means a requirement. Fuck anyone who says otherwise.
Having dark spots under your eyes is perfectly normal/eye bags are fine. There’s nothing wrong with them.
Seriously, there is nothing wrong with your normal human face.
If your lips are always chapped, drink more water. Chap stick can work temporarily, but the actual solution is more water.
Splat & Manic Panic both work just fine for coloring hair, you may need to bleach first depending on what color you want & what hair type you have, but don’t fall for that dumbass “oh you need to be using stuff that’s 30$ a bottle” crap.
You don’t need to wash your entire body with soap every day, and in fact, you shouldn’t. Soap your armpits & butt, maybe your feet if they’re gross for some reason. If you use body wash all over every single day, it’ll fuck up your skin’s microbes & natural oils.
Shaving is optional. If you want to, you can, but your body hair is fine. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Armpit hair is not unclean, it actually helps wick sweat away.
It’s your goddamn body, and you get to decide what you want to do with it. You don’t owe it to anyone to change it in any way, and fuck beauty companies that spend billions of dollars trying to convince you otherwise.
As a rule of thumb, your body knows what it’s doing 90% of the time. The beauty industry would like to believe you’re fundamentally dirty & need to buy their shit to be clean, but it’s a huge fucking lie.
Wash your hands, brush your teeth, shower as you need to. You’re fine.
Am i the only one who just hate having a physical form?
I'm meant to be a thing in the universe not a blob of fuvking meat! I hate exisisting like that, sometimes I want to eat myself to escape my body.

“I don’t know who made this little factoid that you’re all circulating about misogynoir but it’s erasing the contributions of Trudy&her blog Gradient Lair to the dissemination&framework of misogynoir. You can go ask Moya Bailey herself if you don’t believe me, she, unlike Trudy who departed Twitter recently, is on Twitter. Oh and please don’t call Trudy an academic, she isn’t one.
You can read the whole article they wrote together and Moya gracefully shared here.” - @notchainedtotrauma
Ever since I experienced my first heartbreak and quite frankly the first thing that ever went wrong and scarred me mentally in my life, I keep living my life in fear of being hurt again, convinced that each day something awful that will ruin my life again is going to happen. Is there any way to break that cycle or thinking or a coping mechanism you would reccomend?
You are living in fear and imagining negative outcomes each day because this is how you are trying to protect yourself. Search within yourself and you will find that it is true. There is a belief that if you are fearful enough, if you anticipate enough negative occurrences, then you can prevent them from happening.
Not only is this an ineffective way of protecting yourself but it also creates a life of constant suffering for you, a veritable hell.
When we are deeply hurt, often we will clench up and pull away and try to seal ourselves off. We hide our wounds in defended places where they can never truly heal. Then they fester and poison us slowly from within. It can hurt to remove a bandage from a wound; that area is very sensitive. But it needs to breathe the fresh air.
You don’t have a scar, because scars are from healing. You have a wound that never had the chance to heal. Instead of being present with the suffering you felt after your heartbreak, allowing yourself to feel its totality and absorb its wisdom, you pushed it away and just tried to forget it and move on. This has the opposite effect: it stays with you every moment until you are willing to stay with it.
You can break the cycle this instant by becoming present. Right now you are entangled in imaginations. In this moment, as you read this writing, are you in immediate danger? Is something bad happening right now? The odds are that no, you’re fine in this instant. But when you live in this fear and anticipating awful things happening, what you are doing is reacting to your imaginations. You are reacting to things that don’t even exist.
Cling to this present moment in which nothing in particular is happening and you are essentially fine. Take a moment to forget the story you are telling yourself about who you are, where you are in your life, what your history has been, and what your future will be like. And just be here right now and breathe.
This should give you a taste of peace and also put into perspective how much you have been living in your mind constantly. This has gone on for quite some time for you and so it will take some time to grow through and free yourself from it. Commit yourself to that process and you will find it to have been one of the most worthwhile endeavors in your lifetime.
Daily meditation is something I always recommend. For you, I especially recommend three books. Look them up and read them in whichever order appeals to you most. The order I recommend is: Belonging Here by Judith Blackstone, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron. Understand that each book may need to be read more than once, as you will return to them with new eyes each time.
You have recognized that you are living in a state of suffering and you have come to suspect that it doesn’t have to be this way. I am here to validate that suspicion and to point to a path that can definitely free you. It is up to you to walk it and find your way. If I can be of help along the way, feel free to reach out.
