Prince woofed, lightly–playfully–at Sebastian, who the dalmatian hadn’t seen in years. It was funny, since while Cody was in New York, her Nana had taken care of the dogs–of which she’d only had Prince and Bender at the time. Darcy was the newest edition, a surprise upon her surprise arrival back in Southport only four or five months ago. Smiling when Seb stood up Cody shook her head at him. “Serves you right for not telling me you were coming home. Damn it Seb, don’t I deserve to know?” Cody sighed, jokingly counting on her hands while she continued, “I mean we talk…one…two…seventeen times a day?” she tilted her head to the side and added a pout, “I’m hurt I didn’t get a call before your plane took off.” Cody made a tsk sound with her tongue and shook her head at Seb, but it was obvious she was joking because she quickly smiled brightly at the boy. Cody had seen Seb when she made a surprise visit to New York just after the Vegas trip, but before then it hadn’t been much. Just phone calls and texts. She was glad to have him home. When he asked what kind of a redo they should do she bounced her weight from one foot to another while she thought. “Well I don’t think we’ve mastered the slow run into each others arms greeting, but we could try it. Or something else. I’m open to any kind of suggestion.”

Seb patted the dog’s head lightly as a smile formed on his lips, Prince was his favorite one but now Cody had more than just a couple of them. It didn’t surprise him considering she had always loved dogs, though it was now the time for him to rethink his present for her since another dog would be too much. His smile faded away a bit when she spoke, he knew she was right and he should’ve called- texted at the very least- but it had all been a surprise, even for him. He could tell she was joking but he still felt a bit bad, she deserved t know he was coming and now he just wanted to punch himself for being such an idiot. “I’m sorry, Codes, I didn’t plan this. It was a last minute kinda thing, but I’m here now and that’s all that matters.” The boy winked at the blonde with a slightly flirty smile as he was playing his arrogancy now. Truth was Cody had always been in his life, she was probably the only thing which hadn’t changed for him, the only trace from his past so far and he couldn’t more thankful for her than he already was. Just looking at her made him smile, each time, so when she complained about the way they had just greeted each other, he knew better than to disagree and so he started stepping backwards slowly, forgetting completely of his coffee. “If you’re so desperate to be in my arms, then we can do the slow mo hug.”

Sophie had been out running errands. She felt like she was always busy lately, and it wasn’t something she particularly enjoyed. She was so in her own head, she hardly had time for other people. She hadn’t been sleeping much, but she had a system – whenever the exhaustion caught up to her, she drowned herself in coffee. That was how she found herself standing outside the coffee shop, staring at a man who hadn’t seen her yet. Anger bubbled inside of her at just seeing his face. Without speaking, she pulled out the chair across from him and sat down in silent protest, her lips pulling into a fine line as he finally spoke. She didn’t respond at first. Being mean wasn’t something she was good at, but she was determined to stand up for herself this time. “That makes two of us,” she quipped.

The girl’s comment had him rolling her eyes without even looking at her, a scoff leaving his mouth as he shifted on his seat so he could look at her, he wasn’t going to take nobody’s shit this time around. “Seriousl-” Sebastian couldn’t even finish the first word of the sentence he was trying to utter as his gaze fell on the gorgeous redhead sitting in front of him, his lips parting open as he tried to gain his composture again. He hadn’t really thought about who he would meet when coming back to the town, it had all been to unexpected, but he definitely hadn’t thought he’d be running into Sophie. She was the one he thought would have gone away and done things right and who knows what, but then again he hadn’t heard of her in two years or so and it was entirely his fault. She was mad at him and he knew it. Coughing slightly to get himself out of the shock, the boy nodded his head once before backing up against his chair. “Hello to you too, Soph.”

Getting a cup of coffee on the way to work was a vital part of Charlotte’s morning ritual. The caffeine was necessary to wake her up and to make her mood a little better for the shift at the bakery she had waiting for her. Unfortunately, the inside was unusually crowded this morning, so she decided to sit outside. Taking the last available chair, she didn’t even bother looking at the person across from her knowing she’d be cranky from having to wake up early and conversation with strangers hardly ever ended well for her.  “I didn’t know sitting in an available chair meant I wanted to be your best friend,” she quipped, taking a sip from her own to-go cup. Her eyes remained fixated on the street ahead, following the male’s instructions to stay quiet.

The girl’s reply had him raising his eyebrows slightly at her attitude, he was used to those smart replies coming from peple in New York but not really here in Southport. Not even paying her too much attention, the boy just focused on his cup as he took another sip and intended to go back into his method to ignore the whole town and whatever problem may come along with it. Placing his cup back on the table though, Sebastian recognized the brunette and couldn’t help but chuckle. Hell she hadn’t changed a bit. Smirking almost imperceptibly, he nodded towards her nonchalantly as he spoke. “You’re definitely more moody than I remember you.”

Cody had been walking around the town since she’d had an appointment earlier in the day, she was now walking around with her dogs. The typical Cody thing to do. She had all of them around her and they weren’t on leashes, except for the baby Goon. Then she walked past someone and did a double take. Turning back around Cody saw the back of his head and couldn’t help but smile. Bending down to look at Prince, the dalmatian and the eldest dog, Cody giggled, “Go sit with Seb.” Cody nudged the dog, who quickly followed Cody’s instructions and nudged the seat across from Seb before hopping into it. Then, Cody sent the others over and followed behind. She was behind him, so she didn’t think he could see her. And when he spoke Cody just giggled and wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his shoulder, “Rude. That was an awful greeting. I demand a redo.” she smiled.

When he realized it was a dog the one seating in front of him, his jaw dropped slightly before he was wrapped into a sort of embrace, suddenly feeling the need to force his escape and run away. They couldn’t have followed him, could they? All his paranoia was shaken away as he heard the ever so familiar voice, laughter getting to him only a second later as he shook his head at his own reaction before managing to turn around and stand up. “Rosie James, you aren’t supposed to do this kind of things, you got me rigth there.” Seb was extremely happy to see his friend, it had been so long since the last time they saw each other- well less than a month was too long for them. He grinned at her request though, and shrugged his shoulders slightly looking down at all the dogs. Damn, he had forgotten how much she loved dogs considering in New York he had just seen her alone. “A redo? What would the redo of this greeting be then?” The boy wondered, already thinking their encounter had been too spontaneous and fun.

Having just arrived to Southport, he had got into a cab and headed downtown not even caring to go over to his hotel first. Altogether he just needed a breath, his entire flight had been spent talking to Rita as she was trying to help him out with the job he was supposed to do that night. Now sitting outside a coffee shop, all he wanted to do was enjoy his black roast cup and not talk to anyone at all, everything brought too many damn memories and he didn’t want to deal with it all. When someone took the seat in front of him, he wasn’t that surprised, it was a small town after all and it wouldn’t be that weird if someone he knew just took a seat with him without asking first. That was when he first opened his eyes so as to meet the person he was now sharing a table with. “I’m not in the mood, alright?”

hello hello!! marti here again :) okay so i wanna plot with you all guys and hope you love my baby seb as much as i love him ♥ okay so here’s what you need to know about him

he was born in SP to a single mom and it was just them, getting through life, struggling sometimes to make ends meet since the woman worked as nurse and had to mantain the family (of 2) on her own. 

He grew up a pretty good kid y’know like he was street smart and he did good in school but was mostly average, he outstood in all athletic fields tho and he put a lot of focus into it bc it was the easiest way to get a scholarship and actually continue studying. 

He was what you consider a popular guy but really he just didn’t care much for the relationships in high school since he felt he had more important things to worry about and was kind with everyone in general but tried to hide it and rather be alone bc defensive af about everything. 

Okay so he made it and got his scholarship for Brown University and it all was cool bc he was going to take a job in rhode island so he would take care of his own needs without having to take his mom’s money. So he moved to Providence and began majoring in Business. 

Two years later tho, he received a pretty upsetting call from his mom saying the house had been distressed and that she had nothing left so she was at a motel for the night and didn’t know what to do so my boy borrowed a friend’s car to go pick his mom up and bring her to his shared apartment for a while until they could fix things. 

During that week him and his mom went to the bank to talk about it all and welp there was this robbery and his mom got wounded by a bullet and she literally died on his arms. (bc what are my backstories without angst heh)

Pissed off, full of grief and despair, but mostly anger he decided to go after these guys who had harmed her, after all he didn’t have muscles and training for nothing. He couldn’t do it during the day so he went out this night and went to this place where he knew there were some people who would tell him who it had been. These people sent him to a bar in New York where they said he was gonna meet a lady who would help him out. 

Not thinking about it too much he went over to the city that never sleeps and to the bar as told, there he met this pretty sexy woman who seemed to have a /lot/ of money. After a talk in which she was actually testing him, she took him over to her hotel room to talk “details”, apparently she was a part of this theft group that was a rival or something of the like to the burglars that had broken into the bank that unfortunate day. 

They put him up to several tests to figure out how he could help them out and coming up with the fact that he was exceptionally good at scaling any surface and so he joined the group of thieves as the athletic safe cracker and has been living in hotel rooms and this penthouse the lady had which was actually for the whole group like the general quarters y’know. 

They got him trained on who to hang around with and how to deal with this and how to pick targets. And he got into the business and was doing pretty well, changed his lifestyle completely and dropped out of college bc now he was earning somewhat easy money.

 He’s quite cunning now, still pretty smart and athletic but he’s a lot more decided and flirty and he knows how to get what he wants. 

He’s back in SP because of a call he’s got of his /father/ taking him completely aback as he had never been present on his life before but had somehow managed to know that his son was into this business.
